They really haven't changed at all so far. It seems to me there are a million and one ways to go. I just need to go and find a simple starter kit because my setup is a little anemic. With all the ways to go and decisions to make it almost drives me to start smoking again. Is the Halo starter kit worth the time and effort for starters?

I'm in the at least VV camp. Being able to fine tune to the particular juice and topper is important to me.

So maybe a couple Spinners or similar, 1300 mAh or better, for power. About like a Sharpie in size, easy to adjust the voltage as needed, to taste.

While the minis provide a smooth fit, you might consider the full size Protank or Davide lineup. They hold quite a bit more, but some can use the same coils, so one of each size might be a reasonable way to go as well. And if the topper you decide on doesn't have it, you might be able to add an air flow control base, which gives another layer of adjustment. Air flow is one of the factors that affect the vape.

A really good idea to use those older devices with interchangeable coils. I used these inexpensive ones https://www.fasttech.com/p/1594202 before I found my ADV's and RTA's. They also use the same coils.

Do you have a tracking number, Wolf? Without one, you'll have difficulty finding out anything. MFS should have given you one. With one, you MIGHT be able to check on your package. Enter the tracking number in the box at the upper right of the page here: https://www.usps.com/

Have tracking number and MFS email said it was shipped - just the tracking info still says shipping label created and no updates after 9 days now.
Longest a package has taken has been 4 weeks -Though usually 2 weeks to get here.
Though this is first with no updates.

With the Christmas season on us, your package is likely to eventually get there. Have you ordered from MFS before? Do you know where the sorting facility is that handles Aussie shipments? Maybe they are just waiting for the container to fill. Or maybe it is caught up in customs in Australia. Do you know where that is?

This time of the year, I wouldn't be worried about nine days.

First order with MFS though I read that many people have ordered from them.

Don't know the sorting facility in Australia - I figure its either in Sydney or Melbourne - on the other side from me.
Usually get an update when it is scanned in Australia and then nothing until its delivered.

nah I'm cool mostly these things are my patient nature coinciding with my curiosity.

Welcome, Redruth. Noticed you were around. Now we will have more opportunities to debate Brit vs American English-- which one is true English? :-x:lol:

I thought American english was started by British english and the British english came to them from elsewhere .

Melbourne - Usa say Mel born . we say Mel ben.
The suburb Mandurah we don't say Man do rah . we say man dra.

I couldn't detect people sounding American when i was there but if I'm in a shop and someone walks by and talks and is from the USA its obvious.

When you hear people talking around here it does not sound like when your watching an American tv show and some Australian comes on and starts talking.

American English and Brit English have both changed.

So is the Australian English that we hear on TV exaggerated? Do you have to concentrate to understand Cockney?

Myself and my brother we cringe when the cockney factor comes on Tv.

We have some slang but you don't find that many people talking like that all the time.

Y'all would fall out of your rockers if you heard me! I've lived in several states, including Missouri (where they tried to put my sister in speech therapy, & I was laughed at every time I opened my mouth.), & Maryland, but mostly Texas, since that's where I was born, & eventually came back to. My twang rises & falls with my mood, never goes away completely, but it does get strong! Unless I say "Atlanta". Then I still sound like Scarlett O'Hara from my years there, 3 syllables & accent in the middle. I can't seem to shake that. As far as I'm concerned it's all English, just different dialects & accents. I can cram more syllables into one word than can actually be pronounced. And pecan is pronounced puh-cahn.

When I was living at NTSU, I met people from all over the country. They always asked me where I was from. Apparently I didn't sound Texan enough for them. I didn't have much of any accent.

But, I got tired of people asking me to repeat myself because I talked so fast. I finally purposely started drawling out my words so I talked slowly enough not to have to repeat myself.

So, I guess I have some kind of accent now. What kind, not sure. Southern? Texan?

I say 'puh-CON'.

Oops, Front Porch! Has anyone ever tried Pecan flavored juice?

Just in case PapaSloth does tests - though I think in our case he may be satisfied with the practical more than the theoretical.

We had a test at the start of every chemistry lesson - wrong answers you had to write out the question and answer 10 times.

I never had to do that was never wrong retired 100% -

If I got down on the floor I would be a perminant fixture because I couldn't get up again.

As would most of us, but we'd be in good company! Welcome to the Porches! There are 2, this one for vape related, & the Back Porch for chit chat. But we keep getting the 2 mixed up.

I think you should show your appreciation and get one for me.

Welcome, and I thought I saw you show your ID over there, so have a seat :vapor:

Um, sure, maybe learn, share, teach, laugh... :)

I kept losing the word count, so I'll take your word... :toast:

Maybe hot spots? A small crud buildup at one spot on the coil? And not surprised that you got flooding without the flavor wick!

What is a flavor wick?

So, after reading PapaSloths book on vaping dynamics, I decided to try something different than my trusty 28g, 2mm coil. The guy at the local B&M turned me on to a decent length of 26g kanthal wire. I wrapped a 11 wrap 2.4mm, 1.2 ohm coil and put it in the K4 with a good amount of KGD. Surprisingly it is working much better but at an increased wattage. I'm up from 12 to 15 watts and I had to turn the boost on the P3 up to 4 to get the coil up to temp faster. I might even open up the air flow some more and see how it does at a little higher wattage. I figured I'd try the principal of bigger, longer coil, more surface aria in contact with wick and bigger wick, more juice for hotter coil thing. Seems to be working great so far!:vapor:

Here is the coil.

coillwowick.jpg

And here is the same thing with the flavor wick on top of the coil with the "tails" sticking out the (can't think of the correct word at the moment) grooves on either side.

coil.jpg
The flavor wick keeps the coil from flooding but if too much wicking is used, it clogs/chokes it all up. Taking out just the right amount is nearly impossible. :p
