Say Wolfy I was going to tell you another thing I have had really good luck with is after I clean and rewick my attys or recoil them I start them out about 2w lower then I normally vape then and slowly work my way up at 1/2w levels over a whole day or 2 seems to work real well too. If I start off right away at 11w or 12w they sometimes taste burnt but if I break them in a little it works alot better. Glad that wicking worked for you.

The current builds I have are needing between 17 - 22 watts to run. Well the lemo and the subtank , any lower and just pressing the button for a long time to get little vapor. I actually have been initially starting them at lower watts and then moving up.
My rebuilt OCC is 1Ω and running that at 20 watts and thats probably a tad low. If I did say 15 watts I'd be there pressing the button for 30 seconds.

My first ever FT order was a disappointment. A vaping mod with a flashlight attachment that blew out the first time I used it.
This is my second from them.
Interesting facts:
The 3D bottom feed RDA does not have 510 threading as advertised. It appears to be fitted to replace the top of some mech mod or other.
... It's "bottom feed" is an inclosed well and a spring mechanism.
... Not sure what I'm going to do with it
The clone Kirio koilers do NOT have removable posts, so what I had planned on doing cannot be done for coiling a wick.

So far a couple more disappointing vape items from FT.
Ima gonna go vape for a bit now.

Went to the Hairdresser, this morning, where I'm allowed to vape :). So I'm vaping away quite happily, when a new shampoo person (female - perhaps 22) asks me "What's in there?" I answered and asked if she vaped. Yes, she said, I have an Atlantis. Oh, I said, what kind of mod are you using? Mod? Um, I don't know. But I'm not very successful in quitting. I don't get enough vapor. Well, said I, what does it (the mod) look like? A box? A tube like mine (a P3)? No, she said, it's very skinny. How much nic, I asked. 3mg, she said. How much do you smoke? A PAD. Aargh!!! Either she thought I was an idiot (which I suspect), or she has no clue (also possible). An Atlantis on a starter kit? Not. I tried to explain about VV/VW mods and coils and ohms. I told her about nic, and vaping styles. I suggested a good vape store. Nope! She was as interested in what I was saying as the geese in the backyard. Usually I have patience. Today, not so much. Maybe if she hadn't had pink hair ...

I see dat ya already went 'nother route, but I still have a VAMO in my daily rotation (until my third iStick arrives). I've had no issues with da threading. The reason I went wid da VAMO way back when was dat it had da 'eGo skirt well' for my ol' eGo dual coil cartomizers. It has held up well for being 2.5+ years old!

Used one (Smok) fer 'bout 18 months. Was working fine when my telescopic mech Sigelei #20 switch spring went kaput.
RIP.gif

That's me too I got a Vamo way back and still use it occasionally, don't know what the newer ones are like though

Bummer about the flashlight attachment, I was thinking of getting one. Did you contact them and tell them? I have heard they will make good on defective products. They also sell coilers with interchangeable rods. https://www.fasttech.com/products/3034/10012320/2175101-coil-master-e-cigarette-wire-coil-winder Naturally they didn't have those back when I ordered mine.

Goodnight Chet

Goodnight David, and goodnight from NBC news....

just kidding, but reading those posts back to back brought that back

I'm in the middle of an experiment -- since yesterday ~3pm -- I'm using no nic and no flavoring in the ST Mini... straight, unadulterated PG and VG @ 50/50. Pretty interesting really. Kind of sweet but "not really". Kind of a throat hit, but "not really". Still big clouds though, and sort of a cooling effect.

Throat still feels irritated though... hope that goes away later.

Next step will be to switch to a 1.2Ω OCC and see how that goes.

I'm beginning to think sub-ohm vaping isn't for me, even though I never go over 13w. May just have to re-think something I said the other day -- that I'll be getting more Sub Tanks -- Mini and Nano. We'll see how it goes with the 1.2Ω...

I know, sometimes it's like the Waltons around here when the last ones up go to bed. Kinda rude to just leave, lol. I used 0 nic plain juice for several months and didn't mind it, until I figured out I did better with a little nic. Used 80/20 and yes, it does have a slightly sweet not unpleasant taste. Good luck!

I don't see a smile. I see lips pursed for the next toke. I also see a very long flat-top-crew-cut.

When my Vamo fails I will replace it with a kicked mech (or two) and get an ohm tester.

I was a cheaper smoker than you. I am pretty-well even at this point. Tubes and pipe tobacco and I recycled my butts. Maybe that's why I was an accidental quitter! LOL

Look right into her eyes omg, you can see the smile in her eyes. If you just look at her mouth it looks likes she's saying, OMG, you're gonna do what to me?

Not much of a hairdresser person but go every now and then. Last time I was there was a year and a half ago and told her I quit smoking and was using an ecig. Showed her mine and explained vaping. It was an ego-type with a Davide Mini tank. Went in recently and she showed me her cigalike. She was dual using but liked the flavors. Okay, great start but can't quite kick the cigarettes. "What mg of nicotine are you using?" She didn't know, didn't know it came in different strengths. Gave her a brief three sentence explanation of nic levels. She said it sounded very complicated and I should work in a vape shop. Told her about ECF and if she ever wanted help just to call me. However, I am allowed to vape inside when I'm there. :)

Now, don't guilt me!! It is just a challenge to her, to live a long life. I hope I don't need to buy an ohms tester for a long time.

Close... Other ones there are close too... But what I'm looking for is the one that does not have the platform thingie that slots into the base. I would need the one where the rod is all one width @ about 2mm.
Oh, well... I should get my 3D printer in some day, and maybe I can figure how to make one :)

Ken, I have a 3D and like it a lot.

I bought mine from a US vendor a long time ago, and it came already packaged with this 510 "adapter"... available from FT.

I don't even use the 510 adapter much though. I already had a Nemesis, which the 3D will fit on without the adapter if you take the top (510) cap off the Nemi. I'm sure it will fit other mech mods, but don't know which ones... Stingray maybe?

Sorry can't help with the Kuro coiler... I screwed a drill bit into the eraser of a new pencil, use the pencil as a handle, and just wind the wire around the bit, works great.

Hey Metal Storm did you have to take one of the Orings off to make it easier to adjust. I did. Just too tight still is pretty tight but works good. Did you get a gold plated center pin.. The authentics got too many complaints about the copper because people, IDK why worried about lead in the copper.

I am going to try one more nickel coil tomorrow. Busardo has had good luck with it a 12 wrap at 2.5mm 28awg. Actually does what it is supposed to as you run out of juice you just lose vapor and don't burn your cotton because you can run it at 410 without hitting TP. Oh and that was only in the Tugboat.

My Cloneboat only has one O ring around the base. I think it's a V1 copy. It's probably got the best fit of any of these cheapies I've bought. The top cap pops on and off easy but it doesn't leak. All the posts on the Steamboat are steel. The only other difference I can think of is it's a lot faster than yours.

Going to try a Derringer on a SMPL clone next.

Go with 70/30 if 50/50 is hurting your throat. The OCC heads can wick it. No nic unflavored shouldn't be hurting your throat. The 1.2 still puts out plenty of vapor. Maybe that one will suit you better.

So is it really just an experiment or are you trying to get to 0 nic & 0 flav?

My old nemesis the Subtank RBA is cooperating nicely with the stock coil & rayon wick so far. It's day 2 now and will dry hit on rare occasion when chain vaping but it always comes back if I wait a few seconds for it to wick some more. Once it sizzled and dry hit with the KGD, it never got better again. Thanks to "Glo" for the rayon. :)

Yep mine is a V2 with adjustable air flow plus holes for a single or a double coil, works really good for what I got it for, tasting flavors then coming up with a mix and tasting that before I make a 100ml batch. Much better for getting the % right. Finding out all kinds of things about some flavors that you wouldn't think would go together well or have some really different aspects to their flavor. I found out that 2 or 3 drops of the Loranns Cranberry goes really well with a Vanilla flavor, not enough to taste the Cranberry but it brightens it up a little.

Very inexpensive, so I added a few other things so I would be paying $33 thru PayPal, insted of less than $2

Yes, the ill dog is well and the stranded team came in strong and looking for "Dad," who had been released by then and was overjoyed to see them. The dogs nowadays have better wardrobes than I do for handling the cold. Some of the mushers wound up with frostbite though as there was an unreal temp drop atone point. One checkpoint briefly got down to -65.

Glad to see you and Legs are still going strong. See you tomorrow. :)

Edit

You can buy access to a tracker. Each sled carries a GPS device, they also carry a SOS button that isn't very reliable) and you can watch them make their way down the trail, or off the trail if they get lost. Sometimes if somebody scratches you can watch their tracker go to the nearest airport and fly across the country.

Last thing I'll say about this is thank heavens for vaping! There were some tough times during the race where I would have chain smoked over a pack of cigarettes, such as watching someone sitting on the ice for over 10 hours and race officials doing nothing to check on the musher and team, and vaping was awesome. Last year wasn't nearly as stressful as this year and I now realize I never even thought about smoking. Getting pretty good at this. :D

Ok, Mr Bells, you sir are a royal pain in the :censored:...fine...posterior! You quoted this in the backyard and I spent an hour trying to find the OP:mad::p then I had to search flamingo and track posts...ugh...lol
Which musher do you follow Flamingo? I worked with a team on the race in 95...pretty cool experience! Probably one of the highlights in my life. Some crazy people, and I mean that in the best way possible! Great people, amazing animal athletes!
