I just renewed fer 'nother year. Strange, I used to get notifications just prior to dues expiration in da past with da ol' system.
I got it! You didn't get your notification because your in box was full. How's that for a Catch - 22.

It's a "limited edition Zero".
Temp control,a dim not sure I like it asking me if I have a new coil every time I refill.
I was wondering if that might be the case, Mike, and was hoping that somebody who knew the facts would be able to save me from having to do research. You done did it, thanks!
So I think what that means is that if my battery is at, let's say, 4.0 volts, and I have a 0.6 ohm coil, the minimum power that the DNA 30 is going to vape at is 26.67 watts. No wonder it tastes burnt!
On the other hand, when I'm using my Nautilus under the same conditions but with a 1.8 ohm coil, it will vape at 8.89 watts. Since I vape at higher wattage than that with my Nautilus I'd never even notice that the DNA 30 can't buck down. That explains why the problem exists only with my 0.6 ohm coils and not with my 1.8 ohm coils.
Thanks again! In semiretirement, my DNA 30s will be used only with coils of 1.8 ohms or higher.

limited in quality, I think....Perhaps it's limited in it's memory?
yep, it's a DNA 40... it is telling me that every time I push the button now... there must be a short in it somewhere.... I'm gonna return it.I wonder why Evolv didn't include a 'buck' mode on the DNA30. I mean they're at the top of the pecking order for mod chips. At the time even the Chinese chips were bucking & boosting.
Nice Ken! Is it one of the new DNA40 chips that have an atty lock to lock in the initial resistance? At least I'm thinking I remember the Zero was a DNA40 chip, I could be wrong.

I got the machine screw that David O recommends for making coils months and months ago. But never used it.
I have been having awful problems with coils made with the jig, very unstable, and go kaput so quickly.
I made a few with the screw earlier today. Very neat coils, but I have to use reading glasses to use it. Had to change a coil today. It went in, hit 1.81Ω Fired it, and it stayed there. Wicked it, and it still stayed there.30g, six wraps. I am sold. That thing is a cinch.

1.5 MM or so is as large as will fit in the slots on most Kanger Protank type coils for easy positioning so that is what I use. Makes it much easier to install the coil.
Sorry you had issues with the coiler. I've been loving the coil master. In fact an online reviewer was giving away 15 of the V3 you just had to pay shipping and I was lucky enough to get one, should be here tomorrow, can't wait! Dunno if it's that one, or you just don't get along with coil jigs, but I won't be recommending the one you got. But.....glad the screw is working out great for you!I have been having awful problems with coils made with the jig, very unstable, and go kaput so quickly.
maybe, but the only "technique" I'm aware of is, don't apply pressure to the cap so it wraps on top of itself, and some (including me) like to add an extra wrap then pull off the first wrap. Easy way to get the legs nice and straight. But might be something different bout the one you have. Good luck with itI will still be experimenting with it, I am sure there is something wrong with my technique. I might try a smaller mandrel. I can barely handle the vision required to do it on the screw-- might buy another stronger cheapo pair of readers.
I do cotton wicking so the drill bit. Those I hand wrap around 2 mm silica and a paper clip. (I like to be able to dry burn a few times before putting them in the "to be rebuilt" bin.) And leave the paper clip in until done with the assembly.
