Im back to work with very little pain,
that's fantastic!!! So happy your pain level is low.

Thanks. Been over 4 months since my last cigarette and I can honestly say I don't miss them at all. Did a thread on my journey to non-smoking and vaping after over 50 years of addiction. Its in the newbie forum & got lots of replies from nice people who have had similar success. Just picked up a couple of inexpensive box mods and tanks, and playing with sub ohm coils. Not into that too much yet, but it IS interesting because of my background...electrician and later naval engineering officer. Retired CWO4 USCG. Even counting the new hardware, vaping is saving me considerable $$ every month and I can feel the benefits in my overall health! Its a win in every way for me, at least.
you're in good company here, several former military, engineer types. Welcome to you!! What a wonderful story you have, and amazing that you've been able to cut your nic so low so quickly. Love the pom!! Jup, most of those lil dogs think they're big dogs, til one gets too close. lol

I have an extreme dentist phobia. When I go in they have to give me gas before even sticking a finger in my mouth. My sisters have a worse phobia than I do.
oh when I had to take my son to the dentist and we were waiting to be called, I was a mess. The smell of a dentist's office nauseates me. The receptionists/nurses etc knew I had such a hard time sitting in there. He was really good about just playing with the toys they had there or reading, so they told me if you have to go outside, just tell us, we'll keep an eye on him. Several times I'd bolt out the door for fresh air, and at that time to smoke a cig or 10. lol took my sil to the dentist, to have all her teeth pulled........she's one that falls asleep in the dentist chair...... when she was done, she was fine....I was pale and shaking.

So does anyone on the porch vape black tea based liquid? I'm having to do my Earl Grey Tea juice from black tea + bergamot and the two brands of black tea that I have (Flavors Express and Flavour Art) just aren't resembling tea.
I've used the FA black tea. My tasteybuds are not so good, but it was good for me in the one juice I've made so far......3% black tea, 1% mango, also FA

They also have a live chat room also. Someone will give you the link. I haven’t been able to get on , but by all accounts, bar none, they have a most excellent time.
google hangout link https://plus.google.com/hangouts/_/g7ftjgujoqpufbn2ncydiussgaa
so wish you could come in there tutu! Frank, you're welcome to join us anytime. You can be on camera, or turn it off, and just be a disembodied voice lol We're there at times throughout the day, and most evenings starting around 7 or 8 pm central give or take.

anyone with a couple of good non-tobacco flavored formulas that are relatively easy to mix?
uhmm what flavors do you like that are non tobacco. I do my DIY stupid easy. I mix a 1/2 liter of my nic base (basically unflavored juice) then just draw up ever how much I want to make of a particular flavor and add my flavorings. I do mostly fruity flavors, but several here do more savory ones, bakery etc. I'm sure we can hook ya up with some good recipes.

(I can't recall at the moment what AP stands for.)
acetyl pyrazine I think. But dunno what that is really.

Frank, I second Dave's (bigbells) suggestion of FA flavors, I use mostly that and inawera. A couple capellas drops, they're all highly concentrated and inexpensive. Some here love Vaping zone flavors, and I do intend to try some, they're just quite a bit higher priced, to try. But they last a long time.

I also second his suggestion of a coil master. If you can thread a needle and turn a knob, you can make a great coil! Love the coil master 3. Great prices here, they come in red, black and blue http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro...l+master+v3.TRS0&_nkw=coil+master+v3&_sacat=0

Made me look it up. It's acetyl propionyl.
hahaha made ya look. lol Jup there is that one too. You also made me look it up, (so we're even) :pervy:  the pyrazine is used in flavors like graham cracker.

I just ordered a cheap TC Mod, which (of course) caused me to read about how the TC stuff works...THAT got me into some talk about the nickel wire and safety therein.....I use both Kanger subtanks already (mini and plus) and Kanger does the NI200 prebuilt coils for them, so that looks like the best bet for me. They are kinda expensive though, at least compared to rebuilding on the Kanger deck that comes with the tanks. Knowing the way I am, will probably do a couple of Nickle coils just to see if I can, and wick them properly. Of course, then I am also looking at mixing some hi vg 3mg juice.....that's what makes all this so interesting........anyone with a couple of good non-tobacco flavored formulas that are relatively easy to mix? $20 + is pretty steep in my book for just a few MG.

There is a small story behind this one... I had been trying to get a use for my black cherry flavoring for about 2 years.. got one and didn't know what to call it.

All I'm coming up with is Tropical Cherry. :( Anybody have a suggestion for Ken's new juice?

Too late.
It's Tropical Cherry forever now. :)

bascially, I have my PG/VG base, and then I calculate how much flavor and nic to add
in this case, for 6mg 50 ml
8.33ml of 36mg nic
1ml black cherry
2.5 ml wild cherry
1 ml of coconut
all these flavorings are The Flavor Apprentice (TFA)

EDIT - and add the PG/VG base to make it 50 ml

So I'm wondering if they just need more steeping than my Nature's Flavors Earl Grey Tea did? But that doesn't make much sense. I've tried going higher and lower on the flavoring amounts, but they seem to stay dry (high tannins?) and bitter. I haven't actually added any bergamot yet since I generally try out the flavors separately first and then combine and tweak.
I use TFA black tea in my floral teas. I don't recommend it, as it is mostly alcohol. Going to try something else when I finish this bottle.

Don't use any black tea, but do have a green tea mix that I like a lot. Strangely, I call it Honey DragonTea...

All are TFA.

Green tea - 6%
Black honey tobacco - 3%
Dragonfruit - 6%

While I blend to (about) 18 mg/ml and (about) 70/30 PG, you can adjust to your preferences, of course. Like many, I mix a big amount of my "base", for me at 20 mg and 70/30, then just add my flavorings and live with the result. Close enough to keep me happy!

I am certain that someone has informed you many resellers are now stocking premade coils in 10 packs for about $3 per pack. Just bought 30 coils in different ohms from 101Vape. Used the premade ones before as well that came with my latest mods....they are exactly the same! Great for us seniors! Cheaper, too!

Welcome to the porch Frank. Looks like your doing pretty good already. Nice to have you join us here on the front porch. Hope to see you on the back porch too.

Someone posted a video a few days ago about in easy method to wrap coils on a coiler using a larger peice of wire along with the wire you are actually using for your coil. I tried it, & it worked great but now I can't find the video link here. I think it was about the same time as the ARTYFACTS of Vaping video link by Qorax. HELP!!!

Nevermind, I found it. It works for contact coils, too. Jus don't let them stretch out when you take it off.

Is this the one?

I see you've found it, but doesn't hurt to have it posted again. I've done my coils like that ever since I saw the video. LOVE IT! :)

I can't se that vid on my phone, but if it's a guy speaking Polish that's it. Fantastic little trick. I opened a paperclip & cut it on the long end, twisted it & got myself a tool. Wrapped 2 coils immediately. First one to see if it worked. 2nd one to verify that, yep, it worked!

Do either of you find that steeping it helps? Remembering a tip from somwhere way back in the DIY forum I'm starting out fairly weak - 1 1/2 to 2%.

if you think of it, lemme know what you find if you like it

So far, not surprisingly, the Flavour Art seems somewhat better than the Flavor Express. Based on the Earl Grey, I'd also guess that Nature's Flavors would also be good but I haven't seen it anywhere in a small size to try. Of course if I could afford to order anything right now I'd just go ahead and get the NF Earl grey again in the large size direct from Nature's flavors. That's my plan for November.

In the meantime I get to experiment with black tea + bergamot. I'm also thinking that if these two black tea flavors don't improve at different strengths and/or with steeping, that the extra would be good for trying a barely sweetened black tea and mint. I've been meaning to try that, since the commercial version I tried was so sweet that for me it was unvapeable.

I'm also one of the mix base folks, including nicotine to just higher than I want to end up. Using HotRods calculator (https://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/threads/new-calculator-to-try.480587/unread - my favorite recipe calculator, especially good for weight mixing since it figures the real weight of PG and VG) I can use that as my nicotine ingredient and just add flavors in the percentage that I want. Thus my "all I need for mixing is empty bottles, flavors, ketchup bottles full of base, and my scale" method.

I recently started mixing a peppermint tea, using some Mt.Baker peppermint that bells sent me. It is good. Next time I order flavorings, I will try TFA green tea. If my floral teas with TFA black tea improve with steeping, it takes a long steep, almost amounting to evaporation of the alcohol. I really think the alcohol is intended to imitate the bite of tannin.

Looking at my original post, it looks almost like a demand. Just wanted to let you folks know that I was in a hurry and did not intend to type in that manor!
I got half of my KFun 4s at Fasttech, the other half... Don't remember, but they were twice as much and either they were all clones, or Fasttech is selling real ones.
Man Im still waiting for that Velocity RDA to arrive from FT, Its not late! I am just very anxious! :w00t:
I actually know the mail man’s schedule now, and never really cared before, lol.
Im going to try to find something with faster shipping for the first one (for wife).

What a view! Great that you are pain free, that's a blessing!
Yeah, I love it. Not totally pain free, just having the healing type of pains which is good! Dr released me to work at 4 weeks instead of the 6-8 weeks it normally takes for bones to heal. Have a great employer who is giving me light duty (mostly driving with fewer deliveries) and its working out good! Won't need physical therapy!

I recently got two of the Kayfun Lite clones from these guys. The price was too good to pass up. Just love 'em.
I also own 8 Kayfun 3.1 that I been using for about a year. Got them from FT but are no longer available. Love these guys too.

That makes two referrals between you and @DavidOck Im going to order one up! Thank you!

Looks like you're doing 66-67 mph, so guess you aren't in California. Glad it's going so much better for you now. :thumb:
Always stayed around 58mph in Cali, and Ohio. I don't drive long haul any more, just run The Pacific Northwest. This trip I hauled groceries from Spokane,Wa to Tacoma,Wa (Fort Lewis). Been driving for 31 yrs, so Im back where I need to be. Thank you!

Thank you, sure can't beat that price! I remember paying 64.00 for a Joye 510 starter kit a few years back, lol.

that's fantastic!!! So happy your pain level is low.
Thank you! And thanks for helping me keep my mind off those nasty analogs!

@Frank_147 Welcome fellow quitter! ;)

Thanks for all the greetings and congrats....I appreciate each and every one! For me, finally getting away from the cigarette addiction (once I discovered vaping) was relatively easy. Of course, I had tried many, many times with gum, patches, etc and nothing worked long term. Taking the time to think about it now, I believe vaping is the one, single, alternative to smoking that lets us retain the hand-to-mouth nicotine delivery thing, while still giving us the ability to really, truly cut way down on the nicotine strength. At first, again for me, it took 28mg juice to satisfy the craving. BUT after about a month 18MG was good.....THEN to 10-12MG......now using sob-ohm stuff, 3MG is plenty!!

I can see lots more tinkering and adjusting down the road with the sub-ohm coils / juice flavorings / different coil materials, etc. For me, that's ALL a vital part of the "cure"! At last, a habit/hobby/interest that is actually GOOD for me and mine! Wow!

Now, if we can just get the government and politicians to leave us to hell alone for a change.....!!!

Should'a waved, that's literally just down the road from me. Been listening to them practice (and the AF contingent there as well, JBLM) for 20 some years, and while I hate the reality that we need them, well, it's a reality, no matter what I think about war! So it's music to my ears :) Means they're getting some of the training and practice that, unfortunately, the world will require of them.

(Besides, I knew they were there when we bought our land, so how could I complain about "noise" and look myself in the face??)
