I can't figure out what you guys could be doing with the Kangers. Mine are good tank after tank. I don't put a lot of wick in there, I don't wet it I pull the tails up and put the first section of the chiminey on then fold the wick over and cut it about 1/2" beyond the top then poke it down with the tip going in first. I don't pack it in then I wet it fire it wet it again put the remaining piece on put it together and away I go. I have never had a problem. I use 50/50 juice. Knock on wood

The Tugboat works fantastic. I was lucky enough to get one with a gold plated center pin instead of copper. I shot for a 26awg 2.5mm microcoil hit 1.21 running it in single coil mode. It puts out a ton of vapor and really easy to build. Definately take one of the Orings off makes all the difference. I am very happy with the device not paricularly with the vendor. Oh I'm only running it on 15w.

Yeah, that's where I am. Started with an ego and was content. Then stumbled across ecf. Reading here piqued my interest and got me to order an SVD. And wire, wicks, DIY juices.

Then, stumbled across a juice that's perfect for me. So while DIY and rebuilding etc. sounds interesting... also a PITA.

The first SVD came with an i30 tank. Got used to it. Pretty much all I use.

But tried the Russian, KF's and no idea how many others. But many. All sitting on the shelf. Not worth the aggravation to me. Got cotton, wire, mag glasses, torches and the whole bit. They've been kinda dusty.

Got mods that run higher watts. Still rarely go over 8w.

So I think what I'm saying is, the magic is in the juice. Find that and you're golden. All the tanks, mods, DIY paraphernalia don't matter. If you wanna have fun, DIY. If you just want to enjoy vaping... don't have to. Just sit back, relax and realize... it may not get better than what you have right now.

This current wick in the subtank rba has so far been good for 10 minutes. Haven't heard the dreaded sssssss after stop pressing button.

The area of the deck from the centre to the edge where the chamber is , thats very small compared to my lemo and goblin , not much area for the wick to sit on like the lemo and wicks don't go a bit in the channels like the goblin.

This current one I did put the chimney on but I cut the wicks flush with the top thinking that theres not much deck space. If it goes bad I'll cut them ,, half inch is it ?

Tugboat is that your first dripper ?

I don't think we are in Kansas anymore Toto.. Wish I had a good gif or meem but tapatalk is no fun.
Maybe it's off to see the wizard. I too am a Tapatalk user. You can add meme and GIFs using Tapatalk. I use Photobucket to store them and just link to them by pasting a link to it in my post. You can also paste in a small meme into the post directly from your phone and Tapatalk will upload it to their storage site and link to that but, it's size limited and I am not sure if you need to be a premium subscriber. Here is a try on my part to link to a gif I stole from either Iffy or Debadoo

I don't think that worked because it converted the gif to a jpg and that takes all the movement out of it. I'll do a little research and see if I can figure out how we can do it without going through a bunch of steps.

Summertime, summertime, sum, sum, summertime. I can't wait for summertime!

That would be wonderful Matt. I have tried saving some of the cute giffs but they do all convert to jpgs with no movememt. They loose all the charm.

How thick is your juice How much VG

65% VG. I can chain vape this juice with stock coils in the Sub Mini & Atlantis. No reason I should be getting dry hits with this tank & juice, except for user error. My first shot at it was the best. Stock RBA coil .5 Ohm I could take long hits on it with only a small amount of the cotton that came with the tank.

I've still got another stock coil that came with the tank so I'm going to try it with less cotton like I did the first time. All I've heard here is "use more cotton" but I think my more recent builds may have had too much of it inside the coil.

The coils I've built for it have had a much larger ID and fewer wraps, too, so I'm changing too many things at once to nail down exactly what is wrong.

I'll restart from the beginning and go from there.

Glad to hear you have the Tugboat going! :2cool:

I have seen this for the first time... here on ecf. No clue how they do that. But if you want to save the gif, don't right click and "save as". Just Left click and drag it to your desk top.

Im finding this subtank RBA not the friendliest thing to wick.

Can get it good for half a tank then have a vape and let go of button and you hear the sound continue for a couple of seconds then very light wispy vapor after that.
Been doing it for all matter of wicking.
Doesn't get harsh ( except for when the wicks move and block the channels) just doesn't produce much vapor and the wicks are still wet when I look at it.

I'm getting the sizzle after letting go of the button and the light flavor as well.

I think that may be what happened. I never did check to see what they saved as, I will now though. Thanks Gary.

IIRC, they save as a jpg. And no clue how they manage that since they're animated. Even if you save it and change the extension to gif... don't werk. Go figger.

I can do it on my laptop but I usually check in here on my phone. Thank you though.

Just tried another build but with less cotton thickness this time. I probably left it a little longer than I had been. Seems to be working better. I can chain vape it so far.

Only problem is I installed the coil upside down, much lower over the air tube. Why not try it, I thought. Pretty sure this juice isn't supposed to taste like this. It's like a strawberry concentrate.

Seems to be wicking better, though. Time for another build!
