Uman, I had that problem when I got out of the hospital last May. It was bad enough that I had trouble breathing around it. Turned out I had Thrush from the antibiotics. I did the swish & swallow stuff. Two whole bottles of it, & that didn't get rid of it. I finally remembered about apple cider vinegar. I used about 3 tablespoons in a little over a half a glass of water, added a tiny bit of honey, & did the swish & swallow with that 3 times a day trying to make sure it hit the lump in my throat when I swallowed. That did it! Took care of the rest of the Thrush, also. Be sure you use the organic ACV "with the Mother", keep doing it & you'll notice after a couple of weeks that you feel better all over & have more energy, too. I need to start doing it again. I can do just 1 tbsp in a half glass of water twice a day & maintain my energy & all that way. I just used more to get rid of that lump & the Trush.

Thanks Kenna, I'll try that. We have honey and ACV. But... what's "with the Mother"? A picture on the label of a certain brand? ('scuse my ignorance :))

I paid 51.00 for my marquis clone (incl shipping) from catfish atty mods need to try some builds in it to see if I can get it where I love it.

Doffy sent me a few atties he wasn't using, some clones, a couple auths. So far, I'm liking the nuppin the best, but still have one more to try. I'm finding I tend to prefer lung inhales, and med sized atties apparently. lol

Been reading a lot of folks say they really like the Nuppin... and the Derringer, and the Odin, and the Dark Horse, and the....... (can ya tell I've been "shopping drippers"? :D) seems to be a lot of "good ones" out there right now.

Hope everyone had a great weekend, we did. Took a road trip to my Mom's, had a fine Easter Sunday meal, my brother and I fixed one of her smoke detectors, oiled her sewing machine, installed a new shower head, I got here printer working, etc. Obviously, she'd been saving up "honey do's" for a while. :)

Unfortunately, my brother has gone back to cigs. His SO also quit using their ecigs but she did not go back to analogs... she quit everything, and is doing very well with it! Said there were no temptations at all.

Later gators, ciao y'all...

What this? A positive article about nicotine. Yes it is.

Nicotine, the Wonder Drug? | DiscoverMagazine.com

Yeah, Mike. I personally believe that quitting is not the best thing for everyone.

I was in da doc's office a while back and complained about slowing down, memory slipping and such. His response... yeah, I get a lot of patients who quit with those problems developing.

And I thot to myself... um... huh?

At that point I thot to myself... mebbee this wasn't such a good idea. But the problem with me (since I NEVER wanted to quit) is that I found vaping tastes much better. But to those folks trying to wean themselves off the nic... you may be going in the wrong direction. I'm at 18mg and have no plans to lower it anytime soon.

I lowered mine to between 4-6, and have no issues. 3-0 and I start having problems with concentration and mood. When I'm stressed (mostly during work) I will hit some of my 12.
My idea has always been to reduce to the lowest I needed, so in 15 or 20 years when I really need the increase, it won't be too hard to do.
OK, my FIRST goal was to go to zero. But life stepped in to show me that was a bad idea, and since then, this has been my goal :D

Totally agree. 0 nic just wasn't helping with clarity of mind. Last week I had panic attacks, and didn't even think of smoking. Six is doing me fine-- I get a bit of a TH when I need it.

I'm using 12 mg nic for maybe a year now. I started off w/ 18 mg and used that level for a couple years. I'm not planning on reducing it but sometimes I think about stepping backup to 18mg to see if changes my 'chain-vaping'.

Here's the ACV bottle, with the "mother", which is the sediment / lees from the pressing. Shake the bottle well before dispensing so you get some of it in the mix.

Bragg Live Foods, Bragg Apple Cider Vinegar, Bragg Liquid Aminos,Systemic Enzymes, Bragg Live Organic Food Products, Patricia Bragg, Paul Bragg, Bragg Organic Olive Oil, Bragg Salad Dressings, Bragg Seasonings, Bragg Health Products

I use about a tablespoon and some local honey in a half glass of hot tap water (helps the honey dissolve) twice a day. Great tonic for joints as well.

And great find on the nic article, Mike! I stepped down from my initial 24 to 18 about 3 months in, and started seeing research (um, at CASAA's site, iirc) about that time, and have stuck at 18 since.

That is kind of what I have done recently Mike - I had gotten myself down to about 8mg, but was vaping more so I upped it back to 12 - 15mg and now do not carry the PV with me into every room or outside much at all... Now, when I am sitting at the computer or watching TV I catch myself vaping more, but try to set it down on the coffee table so I have to reach for it to use it... Remember, I have said it before - I am not worried about stopping vaping, but I do want to get it as low as possible and it is not the nic level that I am cutting back for - it is the ingredients that is going with the nic...

I started at 36mg. Have been using 3mg now for about 8 months or so and seems just right for me I am thinking of changing up to 70/30. I vape a lot at least 10ml a day and have been getting a lot of phlegm just one day into the 70/30 and it seems to be better. I did it over about a 2 year period.

Updated report on the Aspire Atlantis with factory 0.5 ohm coils.

Background:
In February I was asking questions about the Atlantis, which I had never tried. I said I was going to buy one. But it turned out I had opened my mouth at the right time, because Cavenerd said he was going to send me one, which I received in the 3rd week of February.

My initial reaction was not positive. I found it too strong and harsh for some reason, and I continued using my Aspire Nautilus for the most part. Occasionally, I'd take a hit or three on the Atlantis to see if it had gotten any better. I discovered that if I used minimal wattage and the smallest air intake hole, it worked better for me than it had. Still, I only took a few hits off it each day, then resumed my Nautilus use for 99% of my daily vaping.

Latest news and change of outlook:
3 or 4 days ago I suddenly found the Atlantis experience more pleasing. I couldn't really figure out why. I went and watched Phil Busardo's video review. That video made me realize that Busardo had in recent months corrected just about all of the things that previously made me find him tedious and hard to watch. Please correct your records to reflect that I've moved from the Phil Mocker column to the Phil Fan column.

So anyways, I'm like watching the video and Phil is talking about optimal wattage for the Atlantis of 20 to 30 watts with the stock 0.5 ohm coils. He's also talking about dripping joose into the open end of the coil assembly before installing it into the base of the Atlantis, which seems like a really good idea. In addition, he's talking about the airflow being sufficient to do lung hits.

Summary:
I'm startin' to have a thing for my Atlantis. Realizing that the taste had been getting better, I cranked up from the 9 watts I'd been using to 13 watts, and within an hour or two, to 20 watts. I tried a little higher than that, even, but came back down to 20.

1. Yes, works as a lung hit. It's been so long since I'd done lung hits that I had to kind of train myself to do it, since in my last couple of decades of smoking my lungs had gotten too messed up for me to do that, and I had learned with other vaping delivery devices that I had to take in even less direct vapor than the small amount I was still taking directly into my lungs when I was still smoking.

2. I'm virtually certain that when I first used the Atlantis, I burnt the wicking somewhat, due to it being insufficiently wetted with joose. Even though I'm still using that same coil, I'm no longer getting burnt hits. I think I finally put enough joose through it to put out the coals, so to speak. At any right, the coil chamber is much bigger in diameter than on the Nautilus, which makes pre-wetting the coil a really great idea. Phil emphasizes this in his video.

3. The Atlantis DOES eat up the charge in a battery significantly faster than the Nautilus.

4. In the last 48 hours, the Nautilus has started to feel like it has too little airflow. I've always used the largest air hole in the Nautilus base but now, I find myself reaching for the Atlantis instead of the Nautilus.

5. I don't perceive much of an increase in vapor. The Nautilus was always plenty sufficient for me in that regard, but I think I'm becoming an Atlantis convert. I like the phrase that Busardo uses: "volume vaper" instead of "cloud chaser".

Yep it's sort of like Phil said after you've been vaping on these new era attys with the open air flow it's like work when you vape one that is tighter.

That is a really, really good article, Mike. Thanks! I've bookmarked it so I can grab it in a hurry when dealing with anti-nicotine sentiments.

I use a printer "driver" that prints it out to a pdf, so I can reprint as needed, and insurance in case they drop it off the web site. Do that with a lot of stuff I want to keep easily accessible. There are several such programs, free. :) Foxit Reader and Nitro have both free and paid versions - the paid ones in general give more ability to edit the pdf.

I bought the paid version of Cute PDF about 10 years ago after using the free version for a while. I have it installed it on multiple computers and laptops under the same single-user license. It has the ability to create and edit documents with an unlimited number of pages, delete pages and reorder pages, which is why I switched from the free version. I paid around $40 for it at the time and still use it infrequently. Prior to retirement I was using it every day for Union work.

Nowadays, Google Chrome has a pdf converter built in as a "print" option, but there was no such animal until fairly recently.

I'm glad I have both the Atlantis and the Nautilus and don't have to pick one or the other. Sometimes I want the free air flow of the Atlantis and other times I prefer the very ample but more restricted air flow of the Nautilus. I'm firmly in the middle at this time, switching between the two and not worrying about deciding which one I like better.

At the moment I'm feeling like maybe I get more flavor from the Nautilus. That makes sense considering that I'm doing mouth-to-lung with the Nautilus and much more direct-to-lung with the Atlantis, and my mouth is where my taste buds are. But it's also true that the vapor from the Nautilus has a higher percentage of flavor in it than the Atlantis. The butterfly valve is full open with the Atlantis, mixing more air with the fuel and reducing the flavor percentage. (Butterfly valves are found on carburetors, in case anyone doesn't know... don't want anyone tearing apart their Atlantis looking for the butterfly valve. :p )

I've absolutely made up my mind that I have absolutely no reason to make up my mind.
