You are a daring woman. I don't drive to the local convenience store, minutes from home, w/o taking 2 PVs with me. :w00t:

It's a ProVari. :D

I think he heard you and got prepared.

Aw. Handy eye hook. Let's see what he can do with that suit hanging from a crane.

Still haven't taken any vape gear when leave the house ( well did once when first staring out). though don't leave that often.
Perhaps one day.

Thought you were coming back to visit us. You're not? :(

I have two different sized coin purses so to speak - the small one will hold a batt, two coils and 5 ml liquid - with the larger one I can make it two batts, and my stealth vape mod...

I have an old ego case with a couple of coils, spinner, spare tank, q-tips and paper towel in it. Grab the bottle of juice on the way out the door. If we're going to be gone for a while, I also take another spare 18490. The ego case lives in my pack (which is my purse). Went through the uber paranoid phase and am now down to just the paranoid but confident phase. We have no vape shops to just swing by and grab something.

What I want to get is some of the nicotine lozenges for those deadly serious :w00t: moments when you can't vape.

Wish I was a cloud chaser. the military is flying around here in "black" helicopters looking for those illegal gardens. Disclaimer: I hope they bust all the operations around. They're run by cartels, poison the animals, pollute the waterways, divert much needed water away from wildlife, vegetation and other uses. I'd just like to see if they'd do an extra pass over the house. :D

I have found that I can make it for much longer than I ever expected without vaping now - work out in the yard - no PV with me - I leave it next to my TV / Vape station when I go out - if the need arises - I can always take a break inside - vape a little and then go back out...

Everybody has given such warm welcomes. Thank you so very much for your support at the beginning of my journey. Glad to see some Florida folk on here, also. Knowing that I have tried gum, patches, lozenges, Chantix (three times) and Wellbutrin once, I have the utmost respect for you and am committed to any and all organizations that promote the right to have choices and personal freedom to make your own decisions. My cousin was successful and is a big advocate. I'm optimistic that I can wean myself down from 18 mgs as long as I don't nurse it like a bottle and start chain vaping, but if I do, so what? Gotta be better than analogs.
Definitely safer
To get up to speed in record time visit
CASAA - The Consumer Advocates for Smoke-free Alternatives Association (you can sign up while you are there)
And
American Council on Science and Health (ACSH)
Both have vast amounts of correct information on vaping and studies.
Also there is a link to studies in my sig.

I don't recall "meeting" anyone else who knew so much about vaping before they started vaping. That is fantastic.
I researched for 5 years before vaping. I wanted to know what I was getting into.
For the nic levels... I liked smoking my pipe and did so at every opurtunity. I vape the same way. Each time I felt I was getting too much nic, I reduced. I vape no more than before (every chance I get) but am at a level of nic that suits me.
I did try going to 0 nic. Once. Didn't like it and brought it back.

Did the same thing. Got down to about 6 - 8mg, but found myself vaping more - raised it to 8 - 10mg and was fine, but then I decided I wanted to reduce my vaping altogether - less mls per day - raised it to 12 - 15mg and now vape around 3ml or less a day.

I have found I vape more when in a sedentary position though - working on that next...

I have to add - I could not walk to the mail box when I was smoking without lighting one up on the way... :nah:

Me too. Last flight I didn't even think about it. Didn't make a mad dash outside to the smoking area. Sometimes I forget to vape for a while when busy. Sometimes I'm happy, and sometimes frustrated, that you don't get that instant nic fix (as in it takes longer for the nic to enter your system) from vaping. Lighting a cigarette on the way out the door was an automatic reflex. Oddly, that reflex to grab the pack and lighter as we were leaving popped up every now and then for about a year.

You sure that wasn't procrastinating for five years? I went to the doctor the last time I tried vaping, the time it worked, and asked him if he knew of any reason why I shouldn't try vaping to quit, if there were any dangers. He said, "Nope." Been vaping ever since.

ETA - Forgot this part. I reduced the natural way to. When I'd stand up and was dizzy, it was time to drop. Went all the way to zero but, the short version, I was happier and healthier with a bit of nic.

Y'all bring up something interesting I haven't given much thought to. I do wellness screenings for many company health fairs. Employees are required to answer yes or no to health questions, one being do you smoke. If they say yes, no problem, next question. If they say no, we have to swab their cheek and have them hold the swab under their tongue until it turns blue. Then, it's sent out to a lab to test for nicotine. My husband's employer, whom I'm insured with, pretty much goes by honor system. They ask if you smoke on their web site questionnaire. If you say no, they leave you alone, but if you say yes, their health coaches harass you to death. Their coaches have guided me through three failed attempts with Chantix. I finally told them I successfully quit just to stop the near daily phone calls.

His employer's insurance gives big incentives to quit smoking. Reduced premiums, reduced co-pays, and an extra $200.00/year in the Healthworks spending account that you can use to pay for OTC meds (I was using it to pay for lozenges and such). I had no issue with lying about it, but my husband practices a program of rigorous honesty. I don't know how he's kept quiet, (he could be fired for lying...I don't know if things are that detrimental for dependents lying) except that I do my own online questionnaire.

I'm wondering if that swab could detect vaping residues on our client's employees, and what that would mean for them. We never do blood tests for nicotine, just the swabs. I'm guessing positive...that bites. Doesn't seem fair to test for nicotine, when they've quit smoking.

About vasoconstriction. My B/P has always been extremely low...to the point of requiring vasoconstrictors during surgery for a B/P of 40/P and having to stay in SICU over night. I think it's a side effect of the mental meds that causes it. Funny thing is, when the doc increases my dose I get drowsy and smoke even more to combat the effects. He just cut my dose in half a month ago and I've been smoking less. The last time I quit smoking, I gained 70 lbs in six months and have only been able to lose half of that. (The hand to mouth thing I guess.) Another reason vaping might be my best solution.

When people are going to have a nic test, they cut out the nic for... I've forgotten the standard, but 5-7 days and drink a lot of water to flush their system. They pass. There are threads on ECF about it. Not many but they are around. For flunking it, the consequences can be harsh. I find it amazing they got you to try Chantix three times. Those pills have caused nearly 600 people to commit suicide, vaping none. They were doing you no favors and just adding to BP's profits. Wonder how much they were paid to push pills.

Some people use vaping to lose weight. Vape your deserts, don't eat them. I've seen a number of people say they've lost weight when they started vaping. Alas, not me, but it seemed, was, a direct result of a surgery I had. Came around from the surgery and started eating like a pig and didn't stop for nearly a year.

I've lost weight since I started vaping. The hand to mouth thing, yep! Juice tastes better than burning tobacco, so my eating of junk has turned into vaping of desserts, fruits, etc.
That sounds like fun...once I rid myself of the urge for tobacco taste, I can vape myself a banana split. Yay! Things to look forward to

I knew about the suicides with Chantix. I was seriously surprised my psych doc even prescribed it for me once.

Wow...some of those ACAH articles are scary. The lunatics are running the asylum. How the heck does a tax discourage children and under age from flavored nic liquids? And while I'm asking. And are they claiming flavored liquids at 0 mgs are supposed to be like a gateway drug? Who the heck would even want to do that? I know people who have never smoked and vape 0 mgs. I've never heard a one of them say they had any desire to add nic to their regimen.

BTW...I have mail!!! The iTaste VV4, mini nauti tank, a pk of BVCs (in case I screw something up) and my Cool Fresh liquid came in today. And some more reading material, for those of us who read the instructions.

Find a bunch of different flavors you like and switch up often to keep from getting tired of them.

Congrats on the new gear. I have relied on the Nautilus as my ADV atomizer for probably over two months now. It's a good tank. Relaible, never leaks or gurgles, good flavor. Vape mine at 12 watts. Love the thing. And it can surprise you with some decent size clouds, too.

I don't think I've ever heard you talk before about doing extensive groundwork before you started vaping, but you joined ECF about 6 weeks before I did and I didn't do much reading of posts that were made before I joined.

One day in late Jan 2013 I knew absolutely zilch about vaping, had never seen anyone vape and was happily killing myself with 55 to 60 Newport 100s per day and chatting online with my baby brother when he mentioned something about electronic cigarettes. 24 hours of web research later, I had decided to purchase gear from Apollo E-cigs. I looked at what they had available but with no concept of what was what, I called Apollo and talked with the young man who answered the phone, bouncing my thoughts off him, telling him what I was looking for, and finally placing my order for a pair of 650 mah Ego batteries, a USB/Ego charger, a pair of 1.2 ml (I think) fixed-coil clearos and 40 ml of tobacco/menthol juice with 24 mg/ml nicotine. The guy tried to talk me into buying smaller quantities of multiple flavors but I'd have none of that. If I was going to vape e-juice it was going to be something that at least CLAIMED to be similar in flavor to what I was smoking, and I was going to make sure I had enough of it that I wouldn't run out of it before I could order and receive more.

Two or three days later the stuff was in my mailbox. 2 hours later I was using it. 3 hours later I had decided I was done with smoking. 12 hours later I put down the e-cigs and went back to smoking for about a week. I made sure that I did not start my second go-round with vaping until every cigarette in my 2 cartons of Newports was either smoked or given away to my neighbor. For me, that was necessary. I know some people still have the remainder of their last pack or packs of cigarettes but that would not have worked for me. That was Feb 16 2013, and I haven't had a cigarette since.

I'm wondering if that swab could detect vaping residues on our client's employees, and what that would mean for them. We never do blood tests for nicotine, just the swabs. I'm guessing positive...that bites. Doesn't seem fair to test for nicotine, when they've quit smoking.
If there's any component of vapor that leaves a residue I don't know what it would be, but if the swab actually tests for nicotine and nothing but nicotine, I would think that someone who vaped juice with nicotine in it would test positive.

I do have trouble grasping how a mouth swab could possibly be an accurate or reliable test for nicotine, though, especially considering that everyone consumes nicotine in foods.

BTW...I have mail!!! The iTaste VV4, mini nauti tank, a pk of BVCs (in case I screw something up) and my Cool Fresh liquid came in today. And some more reading material, for those of us who read the instructions.
The BVCs are not in case you screw something up. The coils do not last forever and they require periodic replacement. In time, your palate will let you know when it's time to put a new coil in your clearo.

And, good luck, seapeach! Cheers!

I don't vape as much as I smoked when doing physical work / chores. I just can't seem to hold a mech mod in between my lips and use my hands for something else.
