I'm still anxiously awaiting the arrival of my hardware and juice purchase, so I haven't set the analogs aside just yet. Ready though.

But, you have already completed the first three steps - you joined ECF, you order your device and last but not least - you found this group...

Here you will find all the support you will need to ensure that your journey is successful...

I came on board today and a member invited me to the porches. I don't know the difference between the front porch and the back porch. Is one supposed to be more formal than the other? I'm new at forums and new at vaping. I've read tons of great info at ECF, and have tons of questions. First, wth is a tootle puffer? Second, vape lounges are springing up like dandelions all over Orlando. It seems less like prohibition and more embracing the inevitable, at least around here. So that's good news, right? And finally, what, exactly, is the government trying to regulate? My step-son just told me that UCF sent out bulletins declaring vaping supplies as "drug paraphernalia" and they can be suspended for being in possession of it, and that just seems totally ridiculous to me. Isn't that about comparable to taking away my ashtray and bic, my wine glass, my beer stein?

Welcome to ECF and the Porches 'seapeach'. So glad you found us right off. So many good folks here to help you with any questions, problems, or concerns that comes up. Make yourself at home and consider yourself among friends.

That all makes a lot of sense. I just think more in terms of vapocalypse. I'm too poor to focus on what's handy now and what's more likely to be handy later. So, I'm more likely to opt for something that will take a replaceable battery. Otherwise, I guess the convenience of the iStick 50 could make all the difference.

Well between Janet and me we probably have around 20 mods (mechs, VV, VW) with replaceable batts - so a couple few that aren't and are convenient works for us. I think our mod collection can handle a vapocalypse (God forbid it). I've used 'that' excuse up to feed my shiny-itis.

Loved my vv gripper, wish they'd have been made better. I even bought a second one when i ruined the first one with epoxy trying to glue the 510 connector so it didn't wiggle
After two VV Grippers developed serious health problems before they were 2 months old, I went and got a Trixie. To make the Trixie, Madvapes takes the guts from a VV Gripper and puts them in a much sturdier body made from lightweight wood.

With battery and a full Innokin iClear 30S clearo installed, the Trixie weighs only 5.4 ounces and is more comfortable to hold and use than any other PV I've ever used.

Drawbacks: 20 mm is the maximum diameter topper that will fit. It's variable volts only with no variable watts. The VV Gripper electronics are known to be inaccurate at the lowest voltage settings, not really capable of delivering anything less than about 4.0 volts even if it's set at the minimum 3.0 volt setting.

Still, the only reason I hadn't been using it was that my favorite 5-ml Nautilus clearos are too large to fit on it. When I decided a few days ago to go ahead and use the iClear 30S clearos and coils that I had stockpiled before the Nautilus came along, the neglected Trixie was brought out of retirement and I now I'm in love with it all over again.

Back when I first got it, I posted a pic or two of it here, and said that the only thing I didn't especially care for was the name Trixie that Madvapes had given to it. People came up with good names like The Glove, The Michigan, The Finger, The Hand, The Mitten, and The Shark. Ken A came up with at least a couple of those. Iffy said in the Hangout last night that it should be called The Ugly but he obviously doesn't know what he's talking about.

Here it is today. I'm so glad we got back together.

Sea peach is right up your alley, you mangy beagle.

SP, be wary if he, Iffy, offers you a rocker with a cushion in it. It's likely one of his newfangled "acoustic" (whoopee) cushions.

You're an RN! Awesome. What gear did you order? Don't get frustrated with it, there is a learning curve with vaping. Some people switch without a problem, some are accidental quitters (tried vaping, loved it, never looked back), then there's those of us that have to struggle a while before we're able to completely convert to vaping. Please feel free to ask for help, ask any questions you may have, someone will step up to the plate with an answer.
There is a saying on ECF that it's not how many cigarettes you smoke, it's how many you don't that counts. We all started right where you did (duh) and are happy to help you with your transition.
I didn't know a seapeach was a real thing for many years. Kinda yucky looking.

Purchased Itaste MPV 3 and nautilus 5 ml tank. Itaste VV4 750 Mah and nautilus mini tank. I understand the atomizers/coils are interchangeable and BVC are best, so I grabbed a few 5 pks of those also. Our shops and lounges in Orlando are so expensive, I've bought everything online.

I got the VV4 as a small personal that I can grab for short trips in town, and the MPV for all day events and home use. I only work part-time per diem. We go out on the boat many weekends. In the wind, my analogs burn down to nothing before I can smoke them. Curious to see how vaping does on a speed boat at 26-30 mph on the water. :)

Nice choices, SP. Innokin products are generally thought of as well made and sturdy.

Yes, you'll find that B&Ms are typically higher than online shopping, although some are a way out of line! Some aren't too much higher, once you add in shipping costs. But the big "advantage" of a B&M is being able to actually hold the gear. And taste a lot of flavors :)

Just be careful to not drop 'em overboard!

Hi David! Tourist town. Everything in Orlando is overpriced. There is a new lounge here called OVAL for Orlando Vapors and Lounge. They have an ejuice bar, serve food and drinks, TV, pool tables, chess, contests, nice atmosphere, but I haven't been at night. They wanted nearly $100. more for the MPV than I found it online, shipping was waived. (because I'm bipolar and an uncontrollable spender). My husband is a non-smoker and doesn't vape, but he's a rocket scientist and techy. (He's also bipolar.) He was ready to purchase a half dozen rebuildables, wick and change coils and have me dripping. I had to say Whoa!

Oh yeah! I take my iPhone boating in a waterproof bag, so I'm set up for protection.

Yeah, some are WAAAAY out of line!

And the WHOA was probably a good choice. Best to get your feet wet before jumping into the deep end of the pool :) Need to know what works for you to make the switch before deciding to go into building. The transition can be enough stress without trying to figure out why the %$@^ it's not working! When starting, the KISS principle is a good one to follow.

Yeah, I don't need to be over MY head. What's KISS? The only thing I know about kiss is that I got my first french kiss in six months on mother's day when I told Greg I planned to quit smoking.

Everybody has given such warm welcomes. Thank you so very much for your support at the beginning of my journey. Glad to see some Florida folk on here, also. Knowing that I have tried gum, patches, lozenges, Chantix (three times) and Wellbutrin once, I have the utmost respect for you and am committed to any and all organizations that promote the right to have choices and personal freedom to make your own decisions. My cousin was successful and is a big advocate. I'm optimistic that I can wean myself down from 18 mgs as long as I don't nurse it like a bottle and start chain vaping, but if I do, so what? Gotta be better than analogs.

Don't be concerned at this point in weaning yourself, keep the self-imposed pressure and timeline to quit/wean-to-lower the your nic level in the background. That's not what's important now. What's important now is learning new habits to replace the old ones. Everything will come together for you at your timeline.

My wife, Janet H, had her last smoke the day our cig-alikes arrived. Me - well 3 months later I had my last smoke. It's 'bout 3 1/2 years now for both of us. With a bit of commitmant you too will be smoke free.

Bout the same here and even stumbled once when my batts died on me when I was about two hours away from home without a backup, but I made it and so can you...

We all have different, but very similar stories - some pick it up and never look back - some have to work at it - your personal commitment will the guiding instrument through this and we will be here to back you up...

And some who switched the way I did. I forgot to smoke.

Vaped and smoked for quite awhile. One day I noticed my pack of cigarettes had the same number missing as the day before. I had forgot to smoke and didn't even realize it until the next day.

Now that is one of the best stories I have heard...

We have some pretty strange creatures here too

I am not strange, I just tripped over that damned mutt again.

(In the meantime, iffy seen sneaking towards biggies rocker with pin cushion in hand. Swap inevitable.)

No worries Bells, hot-glued his tail to the floor for ya. :D

I almost did that. Went in to buy a pack and she rang them up at almost $8.00 (outrageous price for around here and all the one they had signs up for were between $5-6). Told her to put them back. Ride home wasn't fun but I was proud of myself that I didn't kill anyone in the car on the way home.

Congratulations on that hot kiss! You can expect many more in the near future. It's wonderful your husband is so willing to help you.

If you sign up for CASAA, they will send you CTAs (calls to action) about anything that is happening near you or, in the case of the FDA, anything that will affect you. The organization was born here on ECF. I think every on the porch is a member. It's free but they do take donations and are in need of them.

Have you found a juice that you like? That's the hardest part for some people. Don't buy a liter of the stuff until after your taste buds recover from BT's toxic brew. What you like before recovery may not be at all what you like after. Any juice you don't like, save for the dreaded vaper's tongue (a common phase when you can't taste your juice at all).

You have read to drink lots of water, right? Do drink lots of water, the vape really dries out your mouth and throat. It takes a short bit to get used to the vape vs smoking but worth it!

You didn't realize you were buying a backup when you bought two, but having a backup is vital. Battery dies, you're doomed. Tank breaks, doomed. Tank leaks, doomed unless you brought extra juice. I carry a spare coil, tank, juice and battery if I'm away from the house for more than an hour or two.
