Don't need smarts, just need know-how. If you use Android or Apple, there are videos for how to copy and paste URLs for those systems as well.

Oh, it's even worse, I'm a system engineer, I teach people how to do that and ..... at them when they make mistakes like that. I was just being lazy and got caught!

it took 37 drops to equal one ml.

Agreed! My earlier TFA/PA/etc endeavors measured out from 30 to 38 drops per ml. Keep in mind that the spout size and bottle suppleness will affect the drop count per ml. In fact, early in my DIY efforts, I used to transfer from a new flav bottle to a known and measured one.

Today? Not as concerned as my t-buds are much like Dave's; if da flav is close, then I'm gonna vape it. I also am not cursed with ultra-discriminating flav buds.

That is a heck of a thing to be dealing with, and makes me realize the importance for manufacturers to have complete and accurate disclosure of ingredients.
Thank you but usually it's pretty easy to avoid. Allergy is to tree nuts and it's required by law that if it contains them, it must be on the label. There are far worse allergies to have but I've never even heard of an eliquid bottle that lists possible allergens. It should be a big duh without the FDA having to step in.

Quick! Somebody tell me, please, that I'm all thumbs.
Okie dokie. Bells, you are all thumbs. :)

Do you have pictures of the device you plan to use to lift Mike, you know, just in case the contractor should find the procedure necessary?

Me, me! I want to help hang Mike from the ceiling!

Greetings everyone in the thread, I need your help and I think this might be the best place to post, so here goes. I will try to keep this as short as possible. :)

My dad, Al, has smoked since he was a teenager, I'm guessing around the same time I started, 16 or so. He's a Vietnam veteran in his mid 60's now and smokes around two packs a day.

It's friggin killing him right before my eyes and I can't stand it. There were a lot of motivating factors that pushed me to quit and he is one of them. Since I've moved back home I realize just how deep the evil clutches of cigarettes goes and it's, well, a huge bummer.

I recently quit smoking after getting a little MVP 2 starter kit and some juice from online and the past 8 days have been a huge success, for me at least.

My pops wants to try it but he's intimidated, both by the technology and having to learn something new as well as the fear of giving up cigarettes.

Compared to a lot of trying times in my life, this past week was a breeze. Sure, the first three days were uncomfortable but I can think of much worse.

So now that I've set all that up and you know what's up, what is a reasonably priced battery and tank that is incredibly easy to use, very durable, and most importantly, satisfying. He smokes menthol camel lights by the way.

I think a box type mod may be a little clunky for him but he said he would give it a shot, I just wanted to hear from you all's experience.

Thank you for any replies, I just want my dad to have some extra time on this glorious massive blue sphere hurtling through space that we call home.

May the stars bless all you beautiful people. :)

Utsuru,

First off, a warm and supportive welcome to our lil' porch family! We'll do whatever we can to assist you with your Dad!!

Second, I, and am sure all of us here, embrace your concerns and commend you for your loving effort!

Thirdly, congrats on your current success!

Being a 'Nam ('67-'68) vet and 'bakky free for over four years, I thank the stars for vaping <my 'bakky history in my sig line below>. I quit at age 64.

Do have several questions to aid us in determining the direction you may try to go:

Does your Dad really want to quit 'bakky? Or is it about external pressure?
Has he tried your setup and how did he respond?
Will you be available to 'coach' him through any technological learning curve?
If not, is he familiar with posting in a forum?

Regardless of your answers, I assure you that you'll get veteran advice from folk here that have been through whatever faces your Dad's challenge.

To be honest, I already have my opinions and suggestions for your Dad. BUT, they're only mine and not necessarily optimal without you answers.

Regardless, a salute to your Dad for his service, and one to you for your love! Please do hang 'round with us and let us do what we can. Thanx for droppin' in!

Bless your kind soul, I'll answer what I can.

Yes he wants to quit, he hates cigarettes, and looks at my little MVP with envy.

No he has not tried my setup, I remember in 2013 when I first tried to quit I let him try my protank on a c-twist with hawk sauce from MBV, he coughed and temporarily ruined his expectations of e-cigs. I think he took a full lung hit for some reason.

Yes I'm here for him to teach him with anything he needs, he's my pops.

And finally no, he won't post on a forum, he's sadly never used the intetnet a single time. I've tried to share the wonder of the online word but it isn't feasible right now.

Thanks a lot and a firm salute has been sent your way. :)

Well guys life has been crazy. Lots of driving and little sleep. I see they have totally changed the forums while I was gone. This is going to take some getting used to.

Tonight my father in laws struggle with the cancer came to a sad end. I am in that numb state when things go horribly wrong so quickly there is no time to think or react. I am sure that will change in time. So far I am managing. Back on the high nic stuff but no real desire to smoke.

I did want to thank all of you for your support during this nightmare for me and my family. I think I would have lost my mind in the early days without you guys.

Myrany, that is so sad. I’ve been wondering how it’s been going since you’ve been gone so long. Very sorry to hear he passed. My deepest sympathy to you and yours. Hang in there, we’ve got your back and we’re all here when you need hugs too.

The new forum takes a bit of getting used to and they are still working on it. We also passed the 15 million post mark a couple of days ago which was quite the tadoo.

Hang in there kido.

Good for your father wanting to quit and you for doing it. I'd warn him up front that vaping is going to make him cough, it takes a bit of getting used to. I smoked for 43 years and it wasn't an easy go to switch over to vaping. Took about five months. Coughed when I vaped, coughed when I smoked. The one thing I had going for me is that I lucked into a flavor I loved right off the bat. Perhaps take him to a tasting bar where he can try different flavors and not just tobacco juices. He doesn't need to inhale, just draw it into his mouth and let the vapor out. The nic is primarily absorbed in the mouth and nose anyway.

There have been vapers up into their 90s on ECF. No matter what he hears on the news, vaping isn't about kids, it's about people saving their lives. Let him know, politely, he might want to get his .... in gear before local and state politicians and/or the FDA take his preference to quit smoking--the one that actually works the best--away from him.

Post any questions he may have for us old farts here and we'll be happy to answer them as best we can. I'm sure he can do this if he sets his mind to it.
