The good news is, I've seem several people say they started vaping because of just such kiosks. Kind of like BT's awful little cigalikes. They try it, are intrigued, learn more and move on up. Wish they were more knowledgeable, but they just may put somebody on the road to saving their lives.

Is the little guy still king of the road?
I have a friend from Canada who gets all her vape gear from her flea market. I had talked to her about vaping and the next time I saw her she was vaping away. She thanked me profusely! Yea! A successful convert.

I've had the Nautilus mini and while it vaped well it was the worst for 'popping' in my mouth. I could never figure out how to stop that.
Flooding causes that. The only time I ever had that was when I had pulled too much juice into the coil so it would boil & pop when I fired. Juice in the wick steams. Extra juice boils & pops. Nautilus coils are vertical, with the wick wrapped around the outside of the coil. Not threaded through it. The center of the coil is like a hollow straw the airflows through to pull steam into your mouth. When that straw floods...pop! Don't pull so hard every hit. If chain vaping just once in awhile to get enough to wet the wick well.

Kenna, you beat me to it. You actually explained it better than I could have explained it. I also found that if I inverted the mod, turned it upside down, and did a few draws on it that the coil would clear and the popping would stop. It still happens every now and then with my Herakles and that is how I correct it.

Cool. Glad you're having fun with it. Pink shroom holder? Pretty sure anything I tried to make would look like psychedelic deer droppings.
With the free software and youtube videos to learn... you would probably be making super-duper multi-use multi-level vape stands that can be rearranged at whim.

You going to send the pink one to FT?
I thought that Gracie might want it. I will probably see her at the Orlando Vape fest in a couple of months.

I'm imagining that the technology for reasonably priced home 3D printers will keep improving, and eventually the possible resolution will be good enough to make drip tips. Or maybe the resolution is already sufficient?
yep. already there.

Kenna and Diver gave great advice. I'll add that over priming the head prior to installation is the same as flooding as Kenna cautioned.

I luv the full sized Nautilus!

I never prime before installing. I install, cover the ait hole, give a few short but hard puffs to pull some juice into the wick to get it started wicking. Then just set it aside for a few minutes.

Happy Birth-anniversary @Kenna!!!

Glad you're dabbling with DIY. I  it! I can make what I want, when I want, how I want. Had some friends over last night for Drink 'n' Burn. One gal was asked by all kinds of questions about vaping so I set her up with a rig for the evening. She's pretty particular about what all goes into juice. Gonna try to help her get a setup that works for her.

Showed her my vape cave - I think she though it a bit obsessive LOL. It works for me :)

Older Folks and Vaping Front Porch - Part Three

Welcome to the ‘Front Porch’ for Older Folks and Vaping. This thread is a continuation of the original started almost 2 1/2 years ago by ˇTxtumbleweed’. It grew to over 21,000 posts and the ‘part 2’ continuation thread was begun about a year ago. The ‘part 2’ thread over the last 11 month’s hit 15,000 posts, so now it’s time for a ‘part 3’.

The original and 1st continuation threads are still around and you can find them here:

Older Folks and Vaping Front Porch - Part 2

The Porch for Older Folks is dedicated to Tex. He started the ball rolling and helped so many of us when we first started our vaping journey. He offered us encouragement, shared his knowledge and told us great personal stories ranging from riding the rails as a kid, working as a lineman, lumberjack and fishing the cold waters of the Bering Straits.

Randall (Tex) has since passed on and we are honored to continue the Older Folks and Vaping Front Porch in his memory.

The mods have asked us to stay on topic about vaping in this thread. Please adhere to this guideline.

Feel invited to join us in the lounge where we can chat about vaping and any other ‘topic of the day’ that meets your fancy.

I have been vaping for 1 year now. (Just a few days over that) I still don't understand all about it yet, most of what people say just plain goes right over my head! lol.. I got some recommendations when I decided to start as to what purchases to make, bought an ego, and went for it.

Just now had to replace that first battery.. I like sweet e-juice.. cheesecake is so my favorite but any dessert can be awesome.. and right now I am vaping 1 or so ml per day.

About to upgrade equipment and they say I will use more liquid at that point, but I am tired of consistently purchasing new clearomizers.. lol.. so it is what it is I guess.

Thanks for the welcome guys!

Yes I was a two pack a day smoker for 30 years. Started when I was a teenager, never was able to quit after that.

I have been smoke free for that year, for the most part. When I got sick from a summer cold that was going around I found vaping way too hard on my throat so I went back to smokes for a bit due to that, but right back to vaping once I was better.

A couple times I left the house without my stuff, and many people around me smoke so if I felt the urge and couldn't vape (cause I was an idiot who thought I would be home faster or some such thing!) then I would bum a smoke..

God it tastes so bad now though.. horrid. I am just not used to the taste anymore, and it is hard for me to smoke now just because of that.

I am planning on purchasing an istick30w with a nautilus mini.. figure that should work for me nicely!

Wahoooooooo!!!!!!!!! started to post this, then figgered I'd better check!

Lots of folks love the Istick, and the 30 is a good choice I think. Some have no issues with the 50, but others have had many issues with it. You may also wanna check out the Eleaf GS Air M or MS (ms is for shorty, just shorter than the other one) It's made for the Istick. I've never used one, but had I continued using tanks I would have tried that to see how it compared to the nautilus. I've never heard word one bad about them and TONS of folks just love them. Gracie (flowersoul) has used them and really likes them, so she could tell you about them.
