Good Morning, Porchers!!

This morning, I am conducting a survey..........aw hell with that. I'm just going to ask for opinions outright.

What you y'all opinions on a starter tank for rebuilding coils? I love my Nautilus Minis, BUT, from watching videos, I'd probably wind up extremely frustrated trying to rebuild coils for those. I'm using MVPs 20W.

And the survey says... :)

Kayfuns are easy to build, vape great.

The Kanger Subtank RBA is also easy to build, but may not suit your style of vaping. While "designed" for low Ω, you don't have to build there (I build mine to 1.5), but you'll need to play around with the air flow.

I first started building on the Kanger Subtank. The rebuildable deck that comes with it is an easy deck to learn on. I haven't started rebuilding with TC yet, however, I am just being lazy about it.

My recommendation is the Kanger Subtank that comes with a rebuildable head, and also comes with a couple of pre-built heads. However, I can't compare it to anything else because it's the only tank on which I've built my own coils for the past few months. Prior to that, I hadn't tried building coils since about 2 years ago, on a couple of different tanks. At that time I also rebuilt a couple of the tiny coils for a Protank, but a deck which is INTENDED for rebuilding is much easier. I find the Kanger Subtank deck pretty easy to work with. Not good if you want dual coils though... the deck is meant for single coil builds. (Only two terminals.)

Also, I don't intend to ever build another coil without using a coil jig. My CoilMaster jig has made it so much easier for me to make a decent coil, especially a contact coil, which I can now make perfectly thanks to the CoilMaster.

If you're older today than yesterday, sure :)

(And if not, then the price of admission is telling us how you did that!

I see by your avi that you're a proud tootle-puffer - what'ch puffin on?

Right now, I'm in my office at my desk. I'm tootling on a Smok Mini Trophy Tank that sits on top of a 1100mah EVOD clone battery. Sometimes it sounds like we're talking about cars or something.

I'm puffin' on some of my DIY lime-orange. Yum! Nice day vape. Now I think I'll go to the next building and check to see if mail's here yet. Maybe see one of my old smoking buddies and have a puff or two while catching up.

I'll sit on the porch and have a nice vape after dinner. Maybe pina colada. I might even get the eVic out. I chuck a few clouds now and again for fun. Should be real nice weather here tonight in Denver. I wish y'all could come join me...but, absent that, I'll just enjoy the company around here.

I second the use of a coil jig. I also have the Coil Master and like the ease of making a coil.

Am I old enough to sit on the porch?
Welcome to the front porch, Dave.

My daughter was out doing some running around and picked me up a couple boxes. I think I will use them for my coil making supplies. She knows I am a bit if a Star Wars geek. It may be because of the LEGO Star Wars collection in my bedroom.View attachment 487973

Nice boxes ... just in time for going back to school! ;)

I'm w/ Dave and Holi - go with a KFL-Lite. I agee w/ Bells, the Subtanks are easy to build but I don't like the draw on them ... too airy for me, even with the air holes throttled down.

Welcome to the porch Taxguy ... geez ... I just got a form sent to me by our state to file some quarterly taxes .. then you show up. But you're not from our state so you didn't send it. :D

Denver? We'll be flying into Denver in a couple weeks. Then driving to Colorado Springs to visit w/ our daughter. She's been in Denver the last few years and just relocated. Looks like instead of a 20 minute ride to her place, it'll be more like an hour+ drive unless I can convince her finance to commandeer one of the Apache's he flys out of Fort Carson to come get us.

I've prepared PA tax returns before. Quarterly payments, eh? You must be--self employed, business owner, retiree--or all 3?

Denver is very vape friendly, but don't be surprised to see people giving you a knowing look--many of the vape devices you see around here don't have ejuice in them. Colorado has, fortunately, not figured out yet what vaping is or what to do about it. So it's quite legal for me to sit here at my desk and tootle away. I have the building manager's blessing, too.

Colorado Springs is very, very different from Denver, and has restrictions on pretty much everything. They do have a commercial airport, though. have you looked at flights to there? The Springs just about exactly a hour's drive from Denver. Unfortunately, Denver's airport is about a 20-30 minute drive from Denver. In the other direction from Co Spgs.

We also have vape lounges here, which don't seem to be as common in other parts of the country. There are 3 or 4 that started out as just vape stores. Customers hanging out vaping, buying gear and juice seems to be a good business model. A few others are also hookah lounges, so there you can also get something to eat and drink as well.

Hope you enjoy your trip!

Yep - been through it vaping outside Snooze's one morning. 2 or 3 different people came up to my wife and me while we were vaping. They each asked what we were vaping - and when it wasn't their particular blend, they'd roll their eyes and walked away. My wife didn't understand, then I said remember we're in Colorado now, then she rolled her eyes and smiled.
