One of the reasons I stay with singles, same gauge, same turns, same leg length, consistent.

The other reason is I'm lazy :)
Wrap it, cinch it down, temper it, wick it. Mindless task. What a relief! :D Then I go on to things which require deep thought.

That's not lazy. That's economy of action. I use single coils because there's nothing I could do to make a better vape.

That said, the 27 gauge Kanthal coil I made two days ago was giving me burnt taste. The coil was strangling the Muji cotton wick. So, I took it out and tossed it after a couple of attempts to trim down the wick after-the-fact.

I upped my coil size to 3 mm, used 26 gauge Kanthal, 3.5 wraps, 0.57 ohms. Simple, beautiful and tasty as can be.
No tempering or pulsing, as usual. Tastes so good I had to open it up to take a picture. Child's play for some of you, I know, but would be impossible for me without my CoilMaster jig that makes it so easy.

my igo2 works better then my rm 2 on a reo or i made the rm2 wrong. still try ing to build the right vape.I feel like the rm2 needs a cotton base pad for the wick, am i wronge ?Rm 2 doesnt seem to joose riggt. At least I haven't killed a spring yet.
You probably are, but make sure you're getting the coil to where it lines up with the air hole, and make sure that when the atty is on the reo that the air hole is pointing up when you tilt it back to vape, not pointing toward the fire button. Orings can help with both of these issues, and if this doesn't make sense, come in the h/o when you have time, and I can explain it better, or scott or amy can. also what kenna pointed out about the wick is true. Don't need much wick, just enough to touch the deck, but not so much it blocks the squonk hole.

I made my first twisted coil today. Aren't y'all proud of me? 28g 9-10 wraps. Have no idea where it measures, haven't put it in an atty to check yet.
You go girl!!!

It only goes to 11 watts & took forever to pulse hot enough to pinch the coil. Then I wicked it & took forever to get hot enough to produce any vapor at all.
it will take longer for sure, I did a couple twisted 30g but really didn't find much difference in flavor. One thing, are you making sure you cue the coil......running the rod through it or lightly raking a screwdriver or something over the top of it? That helps with heating up better.

LOL. Just one, thanks. Why make things more complicated? I am getting consistent results, but to get the same thing on duals I would have to make eight wraps, which would lower consistency.
jup if it works for you why bother with anything else. I find I get more throat hit and more flavor with duals, so I like them better than single. 30g 8/9 wraps with my coil jig, comes to about 1.3 pretty consistently.

Yep, did all that.

I'm not well organized!
Oh, well. I was hoping you had the 'secret' to keeping it all organized. You surely must have more rebuildable stuff than I do.

But, I'm working on it. I have 'stuff' in all kinds of nooks and crannies from when I was sharing a bedroom in the other apartment. So, I'm slowly pulling all the little containers, bowls, and drawers out to see what stuff I can find (all mixed together).

Oh, I did find the top cap and glass tank to my Lancia. They were in one of my bowls where I dump things I've already cleaned but haven't put away yet (to make room for cleaning more stuff). At first, I couldn't find the rest of the Lancia stuff that I had earlier. But, I found that too. I had left it sitting out in an odd place so it would be handy when I found the missing parts.

Must get organized! Above all, must put all the odds'n'ends away. I no longer need to put things away quickly because of little kids. I have my own room now!

Does anyone happen to know who made the Teminator-C? They don't make them anymore. And, back in the days when they did, clone manufacturers weren't generally known by name (Tobeco, EHPro, and such).

Was it only one manufacturer, several, or unknown?

It sounds like, as with any coil, once it got gunked the fresh juice couldn't actually reach the coil to vaporize. Therefore no vapor. Or fresh juice only reaches the gunk, not the coil, so it.s vaporizing a little, but doing it in contact with hot gunk, so just thin, yukky vapor. And the only thing to reach the coil was the gunk build up, which just sits there & reheats over & over so there's the burned taste. Clean coil, clean wick, clean vapor. Rules to vape by! No matter what your coil is made of. Like. Cooking fresh food in a dirty pot with old, burned food left in it. The new food will absorb that flavor & just ad another layer.
Thats the weird thing about Ti the shiny stuff actually vapes better after it gets a little build up usually a couple of tanks full.

When it was producing a good vape I was using 280 to 330 degrees F. As the vape started to get thin, I bumped it up as high as 400 but without good results. Of course, the actual temperature of the coil was probably quite a bit higher since I was using a titanium coil in Nickel temperature mode.

Here's what I think was happening: as the coil got gunked up, that would cause the set temperature to be reached quicker, so it was not producing as much vapor, and the vapor that it did produce had a burnt flavor due to the gunk.
280 is on the hot side for my SX350J. I usually start about 260 but you have a completely different chip. 400 is really high. I was reading that actual temp of 600 for a certain amount of time will cause TiO2. When you took it apart did you have any white powder. Bells you should read up on the thread Titanium wire vaping and safety and ask some questions there. Lots of knowledgeable people there. Just out of curiosity when you had it set at 280 does your screen give you a read out of what the actual temp it thinks it is at. Mine for example is set at 260 and it stays within 2 degrees of that which is why I use the power setting I do of 13J. If I go way higher it is off my quite a bit more. I try to set the power to heat to temp in about 2 sec. The SX350J chip is far superior to any other on the market. I just read a post about a guy using a DNA200 on a Ti coil and it practically exploded, caught the legs on fire but I hear they are capable of putting tons of power out.

Thanks Legs.
I gather these coils be they nickel or titanium are use them and toss away then build new ones ?
My Ti ones I wash them under hot water with a brush after about 3 weeks and then rewick after another 3 weeks I recoil but lots of people wash them again. Mike said he has a nickel coil he has done that to several times.

Yum, I just made up a small, 10ml, bottle of a new juice and I think I will like it.
Juicy Peach Mango

Juicy Peach 8%
Philippine Mango 6%
Whipped Cream 2%

I put it in a hot water/ultrasonic bath for about an hour. I have it in my Kanger Subtank, Ni200 coil 35w 450°. Now I will wait and see how it does over time and natural steeping. So far I am liking it.
