GREAT idea Mike with the rod to make the indentation to cut the wick. Leaking kayfuns are to do with wicking over the juice channel hole and very rarely the leaking from o-rings , that can come by the wick shifting just from being in your pocket or having your PV tip over and make that deathly sounding THUD or just to much wick. I just made sure there is going to be no wick anywhere near that juice hole if my kayfun gets banged.
You have to trim a fair amount of rayon away, you don't really need dense tails. It wicks very well with 1/4 to a 1/3 of the rayon removed from the tails, as long as the ends are touching the bottom of the deck.
I get 3+ weeks off a 1.3ohm spaced twisted 30 gauge coil build at @ 10 mls a day in my kayfun, I use my provari daily so I have to build to fire the provari. vaping DIY juice, my Hangsen Highway, Desert Ship and/or No5 with a bit of tobacco absolute is my vape nirvana. I can't believe how clean my Hangsen DIY juice burns compared to commercial juices I have, even after all that time the coil has a few crusties and the wick is still in nice shape but nothing burnt, cocooned shell you'd expect to see.

Not considering my TC mods - for mech's I like around 1 to 1.2Ωs when building for Provari's and other VW mods I go for 1.5-1.7Ωs

Thanks for the welcome Mike. I read the porch all the time but I do not post much as I am still on a steep learning curve 8 months into the vaping journey.

I'll repeat what's been said already - the prime directive on the front porch is to help as best we can whether your a newbie or experienced vapor having issues. So never be embarrassed or concerned about asking any questions.

Do you have to be old to participate in this thread? If so, what is considered old?

Everyone's welcome - if you're old enough to belong to ECF you're old enough to hang out on the porch. Come around to the back porch too - we're not restricted to vaping topics there. The link is in the next quoted post.

Weird peeplez? We iz on da back porch. Or iz dat wired...? I furget.

The Kayfun's that are on sale at Vapor Range, is there a discount code? So far, I like this Kayfun just as much as my carto-tanks. I want more!

They have the KFv4 for the same price. Should I try that too/instead? Is it a lot better? It is more complicated, right?

ETA: Nevermind on the KFv4. They're out of stock already.

I'll offer my opinion anyway even though the KFv4's were OOS. I've got both and don't percieve a noticeable difference in flavor or generating a decent amount of vape. The KFv4 has a more open airflow and doesn't 'whistle' like some KFL-lites. But it does have a lot more parts. I enjoy my KFL-Lites just as much as the V4s. I scored my 1st V4s (Tobecco) for $9.99 on a clearance, couldn't resist that price. Also have an original and the Tobecco's compare very favorably to it in quality.

I've been through all the wick phases (silica, ekowool, mesh, cotton, hemp and now rayon). I have the drippers but very rarely use them since I can build and enjoy a top shelf vape off my kayfuns. My wife still uses the protanks that I build hemp fiber coils for her. She has forgotten what a dry, metallic hit was.
I too am a kayfun addict and its going to be hard for me to give them up for something supposedly better just to revert back to kayfuns.

Yep me too ... including making my own Ceramic wicks. The only one I really didn't like was hemp. Even after doing the 'uber' cleaning that became popular I just couldn't get used to the taste it imparted. I suppose it was tolerable in bakky flavors but it really changed didn't taste good in my fruit flavors.

Delasco rayon balls are pretty much all I use now.

Welcome, Skitterpop! Make yourself at home and share your story or ask any questions that pop into your mind.
Of course, the potential for a better vape at less cost is also a factor, as is not having to rely on vape mail for coils if something goes south in the inventory department
Yes, absolutely.
I use my other one on Davide atomizers... probably the same with this one, and the X65 will go into rotation with my current one. I mostly use KFv4 and Davide atomizers
I've been very surprised that I really like the feel of a pipe in my hand. They look pretty cool too!
Alter, I hope I never get that way. Being a teacher I understand learning. I like the porch so I can listen and think. Just a relaxed rock and a relaxed vape to go with a relaxed attitude.

My students tend to be racing. I don't imagine them there.
I've never been a teacher. But, I have tutored from time to time. It's amazing how much I learn when I do. I love it!

I "debone" the hemp fiber, I pick out all the off colored shards, strings and bunnies. It takes me bout 5 minutes to debone enough hemp for a dozen builds. My wife's cotton candy is hard on coils and she was getting inside a week before it was toast using cotton, now it goes longer than that. With removing the shards it doesn't have the woodzy taste at all and I assume the shards are pieces of stock that got shredded. The hemp is all round better wicking material than cotton but a bit more work to prepare. As long as my wife vapes the protank then I'll be building her coils with hemp. I tried rayon in a protank build but its weird, you vape a tank then after refilling the draw becomes mighty hard, get crap vapor production and eventually cook the coil so I dunno the problem and won't use rayon in my protank builds.
I got the hemp fiber from a Tibs coop some eons ago for those who are curious.

I'm thinking of getting a pipe. Seems like the shape would cuddle right down into my right hand when it's trying to close up on me & help keep it open some. A little Vape Therapy! I'd "need" one of those long pipe stems like Hemo has.
And an 18650 battery is a must. That'd be ine talllll pipe bowl!

It won't let me ship to a different address! I even went to Manage Shipping Address and entered it there. But, the dropdown to choose my address to ship to only has the billing address listed!

I guess I'll email them.

I ran into the same issue with using different shipping addresses. I finally gave up and has had both of my orders sent to me. I'll have to forward the ones for my SIL/BIL I guess. Not a big deal, just a pain.

Just curious brother -- some folks are picky about their threads -- I am definitely an old duffer. If you guys ever create a thread for weird people why I will be the first one in line :w00t:

Sometimes, if you go to your billing address, you can find a box to uncheck which says "use billing address as shipping address". Then you might be able to enter a different shipping address without the software giving you a hard time.

Ha! Everyone's on board and you're still toddling up the gangplank, but you've figured that out.
The Back Porch is our play ground. Just play nice!
Didn't realize that was a rule, you guys let Iffy in.

I think with some companies it's a policy to only send to the billing address to cut down on CC theft. Just giving them a call might easily straighten that out.
