Amoret- Years ago when I was a teenager my parents home had a fire, the water and smoke damage was worse then what the fire consumed. You have all of my sympathy for what's happened to your house (((hug))). That really sucks that you didnt get your favorite juice out of the house. I do give you a lot of credit for your great additude about it all :)

Well, when it comes attitude, I never found that having a bad one improved any situation. :D I always try to find something positive if I can. Not to the Pollyanna point, but something.

Right now I'm pondering the idea that replacement value of 1000 or so dead tree books will go a long way toward populating my kindle, though there are some that are out of print that I'm going to miss, and a few of those I'll probably pay outrageous amounts to find a copy of.

I'm also having a good laugh at myself, since I was thinking that the motel is boring. After all, all I can do is sit around all day reading and wandering the internet, whereas at home I'd be....sitting around all day reading and wandering the internet.:p

I do miss my waterbed, now the world's largest ice cube, and my comfy recliner. (Though I take comfort from the fact that they will both be fixed up or replaced.) And I did send a semi-whiny message to vaperite explaining what happened, hoping that they'll have pitty on me and mail my order fast.

Dear folk, need some feedback on da following...

Anyone have objections for me to start >55 Gen III threads? For this side (GD) I'd call it da "Seniors' Front Porch". For da Lounge side, "Seniors' Back Porch".

I'll try to provide da historic links to capture our 'blood, sweat, tears and joys' we've shared for quite a while!

I would prefer Tex to be 'point' in this effort, but not sure if he is up it. If anyone else would like to take lead, PLEASE go fer it!

Just need some feedback pronto!

Iffy 'incoming PM'. Basically Tex PM'ed me a few days ago he was going to contact the mods about the closing of the threads. I PM'ed him yesterday to see what he found out. I haven't heard from him yet. I know the time is getting close, but maybe we give Tex a day or 2 yet to see what he finds out.

Oh and if we do new titles would something like Seniors Front Porch - Older Folks and Vaping and Seniors Back Porch - Older People 55 and Up. I was thinking it might be nice to tag the old thread names along for people that are familiar w/ them and might look for them if they're not subscribed or have 'em bookmarked. I do like keeping the word vaping in the title of the General Forum thread. I think the mods might look askance at just 'Seniors Front Porch', sound too much like a gossip thread.

That sounds good. On other forums I've been on they don't usually let it go over 10,000 posts, and generally the regulars just keep going and the new folks probably weren't going to read the whole thing before they jumped in anyway. Also, since this limitation is new here they would probably be willing to close the original but leave it available for a while for those who want to see the backstory for something.

So now I'm mad at myself. We finally got back out to the house yesterday to see how bad the fire damage is, and to pick up some stuff we needed. (The structural damage isn't too bad, but the smoke and water damage is, and going to be a lot worse when things thaw.) So I have my list of most urgent items for long term motel living, and chugging on through it while trying to comfort a really traumatized dog, and I think I have pretty much everything (though of course you never do) and we get our ride back.

Get back and pull out the bottles of juice, and the toppers, and I still don't have any of my favorite almost all day vape with me. It seems that I was counting a little too much on my (never strong) organizational skills when I just grabbed all the juice off of my vaping organizer. I must have had my favorite out to do a refill and left it somewhere on the end table. So I guess I'll be sure this time and just order more to be delivered directly to said motel.

Aw Amoret, I feel so bad for you getting displaced and having to deal with the mess. But you're right about trying to find the positive in any situation. It really does help to count your blessings. Is your pup staying at the motel with you? When we drove our daughter back to PA from CA we were pleasantly surprised at how many motels all along the way allow pets. Poor thing can't understand what's going on, but at least he's still got you!

Mike,

No issues here, whatsoever! I just didn't want us to get blindsided & scramble like last time, especially for our newer ol' friends.

At this point, I'll gladly sit back in da rumble seat and try to appreciate da 'wind o' change'...

Hmmm, that might be a good idea to incorporate the old name in with the title for the reasons you mention. Having references to the front and back porch makes it sound friendly and maybe would avoid people thinking they have to be a certain age to participate. Or how about Senior Vapers Front and Back Porch? Or Older Vapers Front and Back Porch? That would keep vaping in the title. I don't know, whatever people decide is fine with me.

I like that the mods have given us a heads up about the move. Feels like they're working with us.

Unfortunately the dog is still at the house since we haven't been able to get the car started. The motel is the only one in 20 miles and does not allow pets, so he and the cats will need to be boarded. If we can't get the car going tomorrow we'll have to call the humane society to see if they can have someone get him.

Unfortunately at least two of the cats seem to be in hiding, and I don't think that a stranger would have any chance of finding them. They have protection but no heat, and the water for them upstairs freezes up. The cats can get to the basement where there is lots of water that won't freeze for at least a week or two.

I usually love living in the middle of nowhere, but right now the lack of motels, towing companies, etc. is definitely a problem. It didn't help that there is a blizzard today. Jim's cousin was going to come to help with the car, but as dearly as I love the animals I'm not willing to risk a person's life to rescue them.

Aw geeze. I can't "like" that post. Maybe the snow is a good thing because it will insulate the house as it blows up against it? Hopefully somebody will be able to get in there tomorrow and find them OK. Good luck - my prayers are with you and your pets to get you through.

I could mod one of those tubes, but she's gonna be a little top heavy and kind of pricey to fill...I'd say close to 3 gallons.

Now where did I put that ego to Celestron 2" adapter ring ???

Probably be easier to turn a telescopic mod into at "spyglass".

Welcome :)

Or maybe just take the "part X" as said in the Forum Manager's post. Keeps it simple and continuous, and nobody has to hassle when the next ones pass 15K?

Rolygate also says the threads will be linked at last/first post, so keeping the same names might be less confusing.

I went to the South Florida Vape Meet today and it was a lot of fun (and Mcguires pub has GOOD hamburgers). I got a free bottle of Blue Honey juice from Strix Elixers and it was very good- have already ordered another bottle and one of the Black Honey as well. Bought a Protank Unitank to try - I know it's not glass but I don't like cinnamon or citrus so I will hopefully be okay and it's a top-filler (a big plus for me).

As a fun side-note... It was the first day since I quite smoking that the weather was warmer and when I got in the car I turned on the AC full blast and rolled down the window to let the smoke out and headed up I95 to the meet. I was halfway there before I realized that I don't have to let smoke out of the car anymore and turned the AC down to low and shut the window, lol. Another "oh duh - I don't smoke any more" moment....

I will chime in...
Older folks and vaping part ducks.

Um... Maybe only older folks will understand that humor... Maybe not.

Damn - I just read this... hope you and yours (including the dog and cats) are all okay

Interesting point... how do you all organize your "vape station" and where do you keep it? Right now my stuff is just all willy-nilly on the kitchen counter and it really does need to move... not that I cook, but I at least need room to chop up the veggies for salads...

I got one of these at Target... I put a paper towel in the bottom of two so I could put the atomizers and any leaks will be taken care of.

Re: my issues with mods and comfort...

I was thinking of getting a Vamo, V5 in particular. Figure I could drop down to a 18350 and small tank (eGo sized) on those days where weight is an issue but normally use a 18650 and normal sized tank. Can anyone here who's used one chime in with an opinion if I'm making a decent choice?

PS: Found this in the suppliers forum. New company offering a giveaway for a nice looking inexpensive 18350 mod to make folks aware of their new website: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/showthread.php?p=11956142
