I completely agree

ever since I began my vaping experience not more than a few months ago I was stumbling around the massive amounts of misinformation and youtube videos that seriously overwhelmed me...to the point of perhaps just smoking reg cigs. But I am persevering with my day to day vapes and hopefully will completely be tobbaco free very soon....great thread :)

Hello and welcome Hazewitch. Although the products available today are so much better for new vapors - the amount of info on the web and even here on ECF from the extreme-vapors and techno-vapors can be overwhelming. You've come to the right place if you need any help or just a place to sit back and relax with your vaping journey. Make you self at home and join in here. You don't have to rush it or feel pressured to 'stop' smoking just because you started vaping. We all have our own pace - just stay committed. It took me a couple month's to stop smoking after I started vaping. But your time will come and you'll known when.

Hi Everyone!
I have been in hospital (still here) but I wanted to let everyone know,I hit my year on January 24. Thank you for all the
Inspiration, encouragement and education on all things vaping and many things about life and the Journey that we are taking.

Wishing you a speedy recouperation and a big CONGRATs on your One Year Anniversary.

Well, when it comes attitude, I never found that having a bad one improved any situation. :D I always try to find something positive if I can.

About 10 years ago some kids broke into my house, burglarized it...then came up with the bright idea that if they started a fire they'd be able to cover their tracks.

Since it was pretty isolated (one of its attractions) it was completely burned to the ground before the Fire Department even arrived.

I thought to myself...if I was able to approach each person in the world and offer to trade places with them (eg. you can have my burned-down-house-waiting-for-insurance-to-rebuild and I'll take your shack in the Brazilian slums)...probably about 99.8% would jump at the chance to be in my situation.

I'm not sure that's the "positive attitude" you're talking about but, for me, it sure put things into perspective!!??!!

Congratulations on the one year!
And I hope it's nothing too serious in the hospital... You able to stealth vape at least?[/QUOTE
I am about as proud of my year as anything else I have ever done. I,m sure that sounds pretty stupid to someone who has never been
hopelessly addicted and never thought quitting was even a possibility
On the less optimistic side, this was a very serious visit involving brain surgery (successful). I got the diagnosis all of us older long term
smokers have feared for years. This thread has been hit hard but I feel in no way these bad outcomes should degrade our accomplishment
of beating this addiction!

Well charging all batterys, rebuilding coils, and doing my DIY looks like we got more snow coming in believe it or not. :p

raised in Portland,OR and previously living in Chicago,IL did afford me some luxury of experiencing the snow covered streets and homes. Obviously, the winter snow can get to your worst senses after a few months like it did to me. In Chicago during the 2009 snow storm, I was trapped in my apartment with my then girlfriend. The wind swept snow drifts hitting quite hard all around us in intervals of fifteen minutes. I really did like her but being copped up in that place, you can go a little stir crazy.

For awhile she began to transform in the likes of Meryl Streep. Now, that wasn't too impressive in my own recesses of my mind, but when she completely changed into Jessica lange I knew that insanity took on a whole new meaning.

Just having some fun writing while vaping my Vamo with a fruity cigar flavor called Trophy Wife. I am beginning to think that trying out various flavors of Ejuices can elicit some previous and lost memories, similar to remembering when you ate the whole Italian bread loaf while walking back home on a Saturday afternoon. your mother sent you out to store to buy with fifty-cents in your pocket but you arrive with a strange story.

Fruit flavors seem to be a nice touch in the morning or afternoons.

So my life has transformed from insanity to keeping an eye on my 5.5Watts and re-learning to vape, not smoke. The mind fights it while the body considers it. What else can Nicotine do to you?.

Sometime this week I'll be receiving my wicks and kanthal coils for re-builds. Seems easy on youtube but if I know myself this much, I just might create a Ham radio with cotton ears.

On my Kanger 3 its all about dual coil. My goal is to create a newer better "nano" coil like the pros do online. I'll post some pics when I begin this tasks. Finally I have tamed my Vamo. It's domesticated and friendly. Took a whole weekend to understand its reasoning. Now its friendlier than my cat, but still more demanding as I keep swapping AW IMR batteries to keep it flowing, talk about high drain.

Hope all of you have a safe and adventurous Monday.

Thought I'd let you know that things are looking up a little today. Finally got out to the house again with a new battery for the car and have transport again. The red cross is helping to find a place for the pets to stay and I got enough of of my favorite juice to get by with until my new order gets here. And Vaperite rushed the order for me so that should be soon.

And I haven't wanted a cigarette, which is truly amazing.

Re: my issues with mods and comfort...

I was thinking of getting a Vamo, V5 in particular. Figure I could drop down to a 18350 and small tank (eGo sized) on those days where weight is an issue but normally use a 18650 and normal sized tank. Can anyone here who's used one chime in with an opinion if I'm making a decent choice?

Sent from my Nexus 7 using Xparent Purple Tapatalk 2

Back to the 'SOAP' box...even after my recent purchase of Zmax minis, I'm still in love with my Vamo's. I do like the Zmax, though, very nice.

As for size and weight here's the best I can do for you (on my digital postage scale and it matches accuracy of the one at my P.O.).

Vamo with 18650 and a half full Protank 2.......8.6 oz.

Vamo with 18650 and the same PT2...............6.8 oz.

Vamo with 18350 and a Mini PT (full)...............5.6 oz.

Zmax mini with 18650 with half full Protank2....8.0 oz.

eGo 1300mAh shortie with Mini PT 3/4 full........2.8 oz.

Hope that helps! :toast:

Gitcha Gitcha Gitcha Vamo! (per Garmin tune) :D

Glad things are looking up for you... And isn't it nice when we get under stress, and one of the LAST things we think about in our mental check-list is "huh, haven't craved a ciggie through this."

You should be very proud of yourself with all you've gone through and still staying away from the cigarettes. I hope things continue to go as well as possible for you and that you were able to get help with your beloved pets.

If you're moving to rebuilding an nano-coils - say good-bye to your 5 watt vapin'. You ain't vaped nothing yet 'till you start pushing 15 watts. :vapor:

I'd better not bring 'nuthing' in the hosue called Trophy Wife even if it's for vaping.:glare:

":laugh:Ham radio w/ cotton ears" - too funny, you're gonna fit in right nice here.

And if you're a gadget guy, here's one I just ran across for building various size coils. Lock you wire under the screw, then twist the coil around the proper size pin.

They're available here for the next few days at least.

Where I live in Iowa we really got luck yesterday...no snow before the high winds and extreme cold hit. Much of the state had blizzard conditions. You know when I went to Des Moines on Saturday to babysit I realized how low the river is and we don't have much snow in the ground in central Iowa. It's been a very long winter with frigid temps but I'm afraid we might be looking at drought this year..which is always bad. Hang in there and I sure hope you don't get too much snow....

Folks, I just heard from Caridwin (one of the mods) about closing the old and starting new threads. I told her 'yes, we are aware it needs to be done and have already started talking about it. As you know, Txtumbleweed was the originator of both the thread in the General Forum and the on in the Lounge. He PM'ed me, he would like someone else to take over. So I'm taking that on and asking Iffy to help. I told Caridwin, we work on it the next couple-few days, and let her know when the new threads are open. She will then close the old ones with a link to the new ones.

Here's my thought(s) for the two new threads.

Older Folks and Vaping Front Porch - Part 2 <---- for the General Forum
Older Folks and Vaping Back Porch - Part 2 <---- for the Lounge Forum

I liked keeping the original name from the general forum and adding "front/back porch" so it would be easier to know where you are - Front Porch for vaping topic, Back Porch for vaping and anything else we'd like to talk about..

I also like putting in a Part 2 just to denote it's a continuation of something else. I like using the same name for the lounge w/ Back Porch because it connects well to the thread in the general forum. And using porch in their names we can just nickname our threads, 'front porch and 'back porch when talking about them.

I'll open the new threads with an introduction and likely take a post or 2 or 3 from the old threads to get them started. Between iffy and I, we'll co-ordinate when the new threads will open and give ya-all a heads up.

So what do you think?
