I went to the South Florida vape Meet today and it was a lot of fun (and Mcguires pub has GOOD hamburgers). I got a free bottle of Blue Honey juice from Strix Elixers and it was very good- have already ordered another bottle and one of the Black Honey as well. Bought a Protank Unitank to try - I know it's not glass but I don't like cinnamon or citrus so I will hopefully be okay and it's a top-filler (a big plus for me).

As a fun side-note... It was the first day since I quite smoking that the weather was warmer and when I got in the car I turned on the AC full blast and rolled down the window to let the smoke out and headed up I95 to the meet. I was halfway there before I realized that I don't have to let smoke out of the car anymore and turned the AC down to low and shut the window, lol. Another "oh duh - I don't smoke any more" moment....

Be careful allso with cherrys, vanillas and some butterscotches. They are not outright tank crackers but I have had them fog up the plastic.

Re: my issues with mods and comfort...

I was thinking of getting a Vamo, V5 in particular. Figure I could drop down to a 18350 and small tank (eGo sized) on those days where weight is an issue but normally use a 18650 and normal sized tank. Can anyone here who's used one chime in with an opinion if I'm making a decent choice?

PS: Found this in the suppliers forum. New company offering a giveaway for a nice looking inexpensive 18350 mod to make folks aware of their new website: Origin Vape Grand Opening Innokin Cool Fire I Giveaway!!

Sent from my Nexus 7 using Xparent Purple Tapatalk 2

I have a vamo v2 and being honest it is VERY BAD on my hands. It is heavy even in 18350 mode and really slippery (I have the stainless steel version). I do not know however how much of that might have changed in the v5

Dear folk, need some feedback on da following...

Anyone have objections for me to start >55 Gen III threads? For this side (GD) I'd call it da "Seniors' Front Porch". For da Lounge side, "Seniors' Back Porch".

I'll try to provide da historic links to capture our 'blood, sweat, tears and joys' we've shared for quite a while!

I would prefer Tex to be 'point' in this effort, but not sure if he is up it. If anyone else would like to take lead, PLEASE go fer it!

Just need some feedback pronto!

How about Older Vapers . . . . and Seniors' Back Porch?

Whatever ya'll decide, I would like the word 'vape', 'vapers', or 'vaping' to be early on in the name of the Vaping thread so that it's easier to tell them apart in my Subscriptions list.

Iffy, I really like those names, but ... Mike says to wait until Tumble gets back to us.
Just to keep on track, you could add "for Vap'in" to the end of both of those ????
So, I guess (as usual), it's hurry up, and wait.

The motel is the only one in 20 miles and does not allow pets.

Ohh, that sucks .....
My "pets" are my kids ... You'd think they would make an exception for you, due to the circumstances.
How close is the next hotel/motel ?? most do allow pets nowdays.

Sorry folks I've been out of the loop for a couple of days. I would like this thread to continue on and asked Mike a few days ago if he would take over as the OP. Personaly I think the name Older Folks and Vaping PT2 would work best for members that just drop by occasionaly being as they would recognize it. Iffy could OP the Lounge thread and change the name to the back porch or whatever name you like.
It is and always has been "our" thread and it has worked great for the last couple of years. I think bickering is the main thread killer and we haven't had any since the last blowup that started this thread and I hope that spirit live and let live continues for many more years. I think it will all work out smoothly.:)

I have found that most of us older folks and long time smokers like the no muss no fuss PV's especially in the beginning. We would like to hear all of your stories and vaping experiences and what devices you started with and your journey to what you use now.

I completely agree

ever since I began my vaping experience not more than a few months ago I was stumbling around the massive amounts of misinformation and youtube videos that seriously overwhelmed me...to the point of perhaps just smoking reg cigs. But I am persevering with my day to day vapes and hopefully will completely be tobbaco free very soon....great thread :)

This thread is what it is all about. It is very easy to get overwhelmed with everything. I know I did. You keep persevering and if you need a should to lean on.......there is always someone here. Glad you found us and welcome.:)

Interesting point... how do you all organize your "vape station" and where do you keep it? Right now my stuff is just all willy-nilly on the kitchen counter and it really does need to move... not that I cook, but I at least need room to chop up the veggies for salads...

It's funny, but most of our shopping trips also include an eye for containers for vaping gear. Mike did drill some holes in some nice scraps of wood that are very handy for containing our devices by the couch/chair. My other bottles and DIY supplies are kept on a small tray that includes a plastic container to contain the syringes etc. It usually sits on a kitchen counter, but the tray makes it easy to move out of the way. I'm sure I'll find something better eventually, but I like being able to see everything at once for refilling. My flavors and beakers and such are kept in a drawer in the sideboard in the dining room. When we finally get around to downsizing I'd like to have one of those nice cabinets with doors to centralize all the vaping supplies.

Welcome! I know what you mean. It's like I didn't know how much I didn't know until we started researching. Wow! I was totally overwhelmed. Then we found ECF and things started falling into place. We like this thread, and our "chat" thread http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/lounge/289745-older-people-55-up-943.html that helped so much because we could throw a question out there at any time and get good explanations and advice without fear of being off topic.

Congratulations on getting started with vaping. It's a journey full of all kinds of new things and lovely surprises. Be aware though that both of these threads are rather large so the mods are going to close these mega threads and start up new ones to make managing them easier. There is supposed to be a link so we won't have any problems finding each other again.

Sorry to hear you're in the hospital. I hope you're up and about quickly. It was nice that you're able to stop in and let us know you've hit your 1 year anniversary! Good job! How cool is that!!!
