Welcome Kat56
You and CharlieGirl (Darn, now that song is stuck in my head ) hang in there.
I guess my situation is working to my advantage. I have x amount to spend each month for vaping, when that's spent there's just nothing left to buy with. So...........when I get that once in awhile feeling I need something more I just vape my face off until it goes away.
That being said, each of us has to find our own way. Hope the WTA is your answer

Welcome Kat and hang in there it only gets easier and better! You may not save as much money as you expected but you will save your life and hopefully avoid the oxygen bottle to tote around down toward the end of the trail!
:tumble:

Visualizing myself with that oxygen bottle is one of the major things that keeps me from ever picking up a real cig again.

Yep me too! My brother, cousin and sister in law all had to pack them. My sister in law is the only one left and the other two are breathing clean Heavenly air now!

Hello to CharlieGirl and Kat...as you have seen many times before in this thread, hang in there the time will come when you are totally free of the 'stinkies' it took only ONE thing for me to quit all together (except for the ecig - will probably be buried with mine). The 'ONE THING' that got me to finally quit..............

soapbox.gif

I just made up my mind I wasn't going to smoke another cigarette. It wasn't easy at first but like yiddle* says 'I just vape my face off until it goes away'. That is what I did and #2, make sure you have adequate resources (ecig batteries, juice, cartos, etc.) - don't go to a gun fight with a knife.

I apologize if that hurts anyone's feelings...commitment to breaking an addiction is a hard thing for EVERYONE, but once you decide you are going to do it, stick to it!

I better get off the

before I let my Alligator mouth overload my Tiny Hiny.

Mega dittos on that one!

Stress is going to be a part of your life always and those times will be the hardest and you are always going to have those thoughts of just one more...I'm coming up on four months and still have that desire on occasion, but I follow Nancy Regan's advice and 'Just say NO'.

You can do it and there is plenty of support here!

Hi everyone. I just joined yesterday found this area but couldn't post a hello because I didn't have 5 yet in the New Member thread.

I'm Kat and you all seem like a wonderful group of people encouraging and helping one another along the way - I love it.

As a 10 year old, it seemed pretty cool to smoke so I'd sneak cigs out of my parent's packed and hide to smoke them. I'm 56 and have smoked most of my life since then :(

About a year ago, I got an electronic cigarette in the mall. (Smoke51 Trio) Hate to admit it, but that fell by the wayside rather quickly. So, back in February after feeling for quite a while that if I had a better device I would probably be more likely to use it, I got a 510-T tank kit, then extra batteries, then added an Ego-C passthru. I still haven't completely shaken the nasties...stressful days at work still really make be run to them with both feet, unfortunately. I was a pack a day smoker, so on average, I've been able to cut that down to about a third. Trying not to beat myself up too bad about that. After reading this entire chain yesterday and CharlieGirl's post just now, I feel better knowing the WTA liquid is out there if I need it.

Anyhow, now that I'm able to post, I wanted to jump in and say hello. I have some questions I will be asking, but will let this be it for my first post.

Today will be a quiet one for me, as I remember and reverence our Heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice to preserve our Freedom.

Hi Kat - Welcome. Nice to have another person join the group.

One of the things I say to people wanting to start vaping or just starting out is - if you want to get off cigarettes vaping can work - but it is not a substitute for a cigarette. It doesn't taste or feel the same taking in vapor compared to a lung full of burning smoke (hi hi). It's substituting one habit (a far less harmful, if at all harmful) vaping for another that is definitely harmful. It's one of the 'things' I had to get past in the beginning taking in vapor differently than inhaling a lung full of carcinogens.

And we all go through the 'money' thing. We think immediately we're going to be saving tons, but it takes a bit of time and expense to find what works. As to the disposables, I'd say get off the atty's and use quality carto's like a Boge. If you can afford to buy them in quanity, then the price comes down per carto and even 5 packs are often on sale. There's also a slew of new juice holders that out perform and last much longer than carto's.

Hang around, ask questions, and the folks hanging out here are sure to help you along.

Also, drop by here - http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/lounge/289745-older-people-55-up.html

It's another forum thread where a lot of the folks around this thread hang out and talk about lots of 'stuff' besides vaping - sort of a combination of a coffee klatch and the Cheers Tavern.

Your eGo charger is GTG with those batts!

When I was obtaining Riva kits for my v-verts, I used my ol' original eGo 420mAh charger to top off da new batts.

That's one sweet $ale! I bought a half dozen 900mAh w/the charge status LEDs to upgrade a few of my buds with 650s.

Thanks Mike. I've been looking at the Boge cartomizers it seems everyone talks about. Not sure what other juice holders would last longer? I was really excited about the tank system because they are so quick and hassle free to fill. Just seems like it won't be very budget friendly keeping tank atomizers is what I'm finding. I'm starting to wonder if that might be because the liquid I chose as my favorite is all VG. Any advice on that part?

Welcome Kat! Don't be afraid to ask anything of this group, they've given me a lot of good ideas with their discussions. They have a lot of experience with all sorts of gear and juice. So don't be a stranger and throw in your 2 cents once in a while too.

Yep, Cheers Tavern is a good description - minus the beer or course - Willie keeps trying to slip it in, but always gets caught at the door of ECF ... Great for chatting and topics outside vaping even though we talk vape talk there also... It is in our blood I guess. ;)..

If you're using the pre-punched cartos and 100%VG, you probably need to enlarge the carto feed hole due to the 'thick' VG viscosity.

You can also thin the VG a little with distilled water - just a few drops is all it takes... Does not seem to take anything away from the vape - to me at least...

I've seen people mention punching cartos in their reviews, but I just don't know at all what that means. I saw someone else posted an idea about thinning with distilled water. I have some of that, so I may give that a try. Thanks so much for helping me :)
