I don't know where to put this but I am older and so I'll put it here? I went out this morning in a hurry and forgot my e cig. Oh well I said. I have a bottle of e juice in my purse. I used to chew Nicorette and tried the patch too to quit smoking. I settled down and chewed Nicorette for 10 years until this vaping equipment came out. So I just dripped e juice on the thin skin of my wrists and for arms so I wouldn't be edgy all day. Works but not much fun. But if you have a juice you don't like to vape you could rub some in the bottom of your foot you know and at least get the benefit of the nicotine. Better than bumming a cigarette or being uncomfortable. Why I say foot is because it does have the smell. Mine was apple today but some of them can smell pretty weird
Hi Fay,
Welcome to the funny farm! I've done something similar to this too! I made up a bottle of DIY rose and could NOT vape it! It smelled wonderful, but as a perfume, not a vape. So I rubbed some on the inside of my wrists. Didn't notice much result so added more nicotine to it and that seemed to help. Now I carry it in a child-proof glass bottle in my purse for those times when vaping isn't practical. Recently I went for an MRI and used it there. One of the techs even commented on my perfume! LOL! My grand daughter loved the idea so much I made he one without the nicotine of course, with peach and vanilla cupcake according to her tastes. She loved it so much it was gone in days! I told her I would do it one more time, but after that she had to buy her own "scents"! LOL. I'll have to look into the perfume apprentice for her and see if those are stronger than the flavors...they get used up way too fast!
Thanks for posting though, I thought I was the only one!

I may be crazy, but I have been diy'ing for a long time now, and, when mixing a new flavor I have always put a small drop on the tip of my finger to taste it. I can tell if I'll like vaping it. I must also note that I vape low nic juice. Yeah, I'm weird, I guess...

I'm totally with you on that Jewels...I always taste it, both before and after I add the nicotine, how else are you gonna know what it tastes like? Granted, tasting and vaping are different, but to know whether or not you are in the ballpark, it is almost a necessity to taste a drop! I don't think that is weird at all! I can't imagine having to test VAPE every time you add a drop or two of this or that! I'd give up before I started!

I'm not over 55 but i have been smoking for 18 years and was around 1.5-2 packs per day. Already dianosed with Chronic Bronchitis and smoking-induced asthma. Love that you were open to vaping. Now I am trying to talk my Grandma into switching to vaping. I hope she is going to switch as she has already suffered terribly as a result of smoking. For me it was vape or die. I was never going to be able to stay off cigs for any length of time... managed to quit only while pregnant, and shamefully, smoked while nursing my kids. I kept it to a minimum, but I did that!

Good for you Chloe! Put your past behind you and let vaping help you start a new life. We all have been where you are and totally understand. I smoked through both pregnancies, while breast-feeding, you name it. I'm certainly not proud, but the point is I know what a beast the addiction is! I could have never quit without vaping! And I'm sure most if not all of the people here would say the same. I have great respect for you that you are doing it now and not waiting until you are an old fart like me. Of course I didn't have the option then, but still, good for you! And bless you too for including your grandmother! She may resist because it isn't her idea, but because you are doing it too, she may just feel included and cared for, which she so obviously is! That's great! Keep up the good work, and hang out here a lot, it does help, trust me! I give so much credit to all the people here for pulling me through when times got tough! I love these people, they are family now! Welcome to the family!

Whenever I tried to quit or even cut down I always had to have some ciggies stashed somewhere or I'd panic. Mike kept saying for the longest time that we should stop and finally one day I suggested we try eCigs. That launched Mike into research mode and after several days we ordered IR808s. I had no idea that vaping was going to be so similar to smoking so from my first vape I put the rest of my pack on top of the refrig. and haven't had one since. I knew that 1/2 pack was up there - just in case - so no panic attacks. 8 months later I finally threw them away. I still think of it as a miracle. Probably couldn't have done it without that 1/2 pack sitting there.

Here it is a year later. Our friend was going to stop his work on the front of our house for the day because he had to go to the store to get a pack of ciggies. To my surprise Mike disappears in the garage and comes out with a whole unopened pack so he wouldn't leave! Whoa! After all this time! The man is full of surprises!

I quit with 3 cartons in the freezer, they are still there. My husband still smokes but he smokes regulars and I smoked menthol. I think I will take them to the guys that stand outside the salvation army waiting for work.

I keep the sealed 305 menthol pack that I was about to open when my first kit, eGo cart, arrived right in front of my eyes here by my 'puter. It's my 'trophy' of days of yore!!!

I bought a carton as I began my search for a starter kit. Figured it would take a while and didn't want to run out. Found a kit, ordered it and sat back to wait hoping the carton would last long enough. The kit came, three days later I finished off the last of the open pack and now I'm stuck with seven packages waiting for me, going stale waiting for me, turning to dust before I break down.
(but I hate seeing anything go to waste so they'll find a new home - hopefully before they completely disintegrate - but I actually don't know many people anymore)

Well I did it. I winced a little when I hit the "Place Order" button but it's done now. One purple mini Provari for me.

I'm going to petition the Mods to change this thread title to
Older Folks and Enabling.:D

If Christmas weren't so close, I'd be tempted. Oh well, my Lambo will have to suffice.

Many people decide to donate theirs to a homeless shelter. I know where you're coming from but please consider that someone may benefit from them. When they are ready they will find a way to quit. When we win the lottery we can donate ProVaris! I know how I would feel as a smoker if someone threw out smokes rather than offer them to me. Let's not forget what it was like.

This is just a comment. You are free to do whatever you like.

I thought there would be some WAY COOL deals this week but so far I haven't seen anything really exciting. Anyone else?

Oh, and can anybody tell me who has the best price on Vision Vivi Nova heads? I want to stay with the Vision ones and need to get me a few. I haven't been able to find any really good deals on them. Boohoo.

Ooooh, and I have been traumatized! I need to make sure I get some vape mail soon to make me feel better (good excuse right?). Hubby gave me today's mail after work tonight - one envelope had my name on it WOOT I got mail, right? Ummm...it was from the funeral home, they would like to pre-sell me some services. Eeeks. They must have a list of old folks
