A forum for Old-folks-vaping. I qualify, so I guess my comments belong here.

Fourteen months ago, I purchased my first eCig, a very bad-tasting Cig2O . The next was a Metro, not quite as bad but bad. Then, the three piece 510, which was a major pain because it required constant probing, fluffing and dripping.

Back to the web for a lot more reading. I did not want to give up on eCigs.

Now comes the part where I admit to a failure of clear reasoning . . . If they are rated #1, they must be really good. . . . Right? Wrong!! And if that weren’t bad enough, they were on sale so decided to stock up. (Dummy, you haven’t even tried them yet.) Over $200 down the drain on V2. I couldn’t stand the taste of any of the twelve flavors. To me, they all tasted like a mix of curry, oregano and ginger in varying amounts.

The KR808, except for battery life, I liked. So, with the help of ECF, I started mixing my own juice and using blank 808 cartomizers. The DIY has been a rewarding adventure and now, I must admit, is a hobby.

Tired of fighting with the 808 batteries, I went back to ECF for further education. I learned a little about how things like Ph, Ohms, Watts, mAh and Viscosity affected me and my PV. I purchased an eGo-T kit (tanks and I don’t get along), an eGo-C, and then the eGo-C Twist. These all worked well enough but I wanted Perfection. So I bought two Johnson Creek VEA kits (okay, but not that impressed). Frustration began to set in. A perfect PV is out there and I couldn’t find it.

I realized, while in that pitiful mindset, that if I had been smoking for those months, I would have spent over $2,500 and have nothing to show for it but a persistent cough and bad breath. I have, however, a shelf full of flavorings, a pile of tanks and cartomizers, adapters and drip-tips, 180ml or more of very good ejuice and a drawer full of batteries, all for just over $2,000. What a deal!!! I’m ahead of the game!

I am over my frustration, self-pity and buyers-remorse. I am all better. I am happy. So the only reasonable thing to do is order a new Joyetech kit from Vapor-geek.

If it’s worthy of comment I’ll let you know.

I've never understood limits. Well, I guess I do but only when really high volume would be involved like a vendor ordering a huge amount. An example... we're rural and have a little grocery closer than town so if the owner bought enough to supply his store then I would understand limits. But, truthfully, other than that they're a little ridiculous. There have been Holiday an other sales at the grocery of products we use all the time both food and household staples and we have no problem with both of us buying the limit at separate registers, taking product to the car and each of us going back in the store to buy more. Its just the two of us but it helps and when I think of large families it would help even more and I bet they do what we do. As for internet, when I find a good deal and know family and friends would want it, I pick up the phone and they go get it. So what's the difference if I buy it or they do after I contact them? They never would have known about it otherwise so wouldn't have been drawn to the site anyway if its all about attracting new customers. But, like I said, placing an order for 20 to 50 items would reek of a vendor purchase so I get that.

Ooops... well, actually, I did see a rural neighbor fill up their truck with sale pop. I think there were at least 5 people making runs into the store so that was big quantity and not a vendor.

Sorry.... geeez... I wrote a book.

Welcome Whiplash and don't feel bad. I did the same thing on juices but it was worse really. I found my ADV first purchase but fell for vendor sales on other juices and wasted $150.00 on what, to me, tastes like crap. I should have left well enough alone but nooooo.... then I bought umpteen jillion flavorings trying to turn the nasties into something I could vape with no success and another wasted $50.00 or so. Now I'm trying to use those to clone my ADV with no success so far. If I ever succeed in that I'll consider it worth it but so far its just wasted money. I'm the type that, if I go to a casino, I count whatever I won as a loss if I play it and loose. My friend never counts lost winnings as a loss. Wish I could think that way.

I'm just having THE worst time! All I want is a mod that uses either 18650 or two smaller bats providing at least 2000/2200 mah. IMy preferred vape is between 4.0 and 4.5 and I want it regulated... hope that's the right term... I mean I want it to stay at that level until the charge won't do it anymore. I was looking at box mods because because of my small hands and because I don't like the slippery feel of smooth metals. All I'm finding that will provide what I want go all the way up to 8 volts which I don't need and along with those high volts comes a high price tag. As I'm looking around, I'm seeing that the majority... even P. Busardo and Steeljan.... prefer the same sweet spots I do. Why can't I find more equipment for that. Losts of 3.7v.. too low... and lots of 5v... too high. Oh, and price? Maybe I'm looking for too much economy. If I start looking over $60.00 will I find it? Is there a high volt trend going on? I found some suitable stuff on youtube reviews but it seems they aren't making them any more. If its a trend will the pendulum swing back to reasonable voltage mods and might it happen before April?

@MichaelB...."Thank you for the easy way to Quote multiple posts and the good laugh"

How about that...I just got thanked for being lazy! :D

"I am going to buy 2000ml of nic juice from a source quoted here and am looking for a source for glass storage bottles"

Michael...Have you tried a sample of the nic you plan to buy in such a large quantity? The reason I ask is because I've gotten nic from 3 different sources now and I didn't like the taste of one of them. It was too peppery for my tastes. Just wouldn't want to see you end up with a large quantity of nic that you don't like.
BTW...the peppery one is Wizard Labs regular. They have one called "ice" that isn't supposed to have that peppery taste.

@Kat....keep an eye on that boiling pot of bamboo thread. I still get miffed every time I look at the little pan that I ruined. ;)

@Ken...glad to hear you got your vapemail and that you like the Nova!!

@Whiplash....Great intro! Pull up a chair and make yourself at home. WELCOME!!!!

Hehe Gloria - I made sure I hung around while I boiled the bamboo :D Apparently watching doesn't keep it from tangling hehe, but I got it untangled. I've been cleaning and organizing today, so i haven't had a chance to build a coil with it...hopefully I will still dig up my round tuit and make one before it's time to call it a day.

So not like I have years of experience but I do have cats and they have been bathing in the PG vapor anytime they sit with me for the past 8 months. I use 50/50 pg vg in my DIY juice. They are fine.

Is there an issue with cats and vaping PG? We have 2 cats and they don't seem to have any reaction at all. Of course they ignore catnip too.
