A question for you folks. I buy a lot of juice from ECBlends and most of it is really good. I like that you can customize it to your liking and that it's reasonably priced. Now my question:

The "Dragon" series, Blood, Tears, Dream (and others) all get rave reviews. I tried the Blood as it was a free sample and it tasted of fruit & cream which is OK but there is something bitter or acrid to it. If you take medications, you know the pill that gives you the Mr Yuck face when it hits your tongue. Being a brave soul, I ordered a 10ml bottle of Dream (orange based) and Tears (strawberry based) and I get some same bitter, acrid sensation - more of an aftertaste than anything else. I've tried it at different voltages and different deliveries including dripping and it's always the same. I've had both bottles sitting since they came in so perhaps they'll get better as they age.

Anyway, any of y'all tried this stuff?
I have had that experience with other flavors here and there, and have been wondering how to tone down some of the unwanted undertones myself. I have been considering ordering some MTS vape wizard as there have been a lot of good comments about it doing that very thing. Might give that a try and then let us know how it goes.

This may be bleeped, but is not an ad.
Myfreedomsmokes has the best, his prices, sales, custom blends & diy (Lor-ann in stock) flavorings rock, & you'll get them fast. Been doing business with them since 12/6/10 (quit date), disappointed by other's flavors.
My favorites are vanilla & coconut, the peach & strawberry are fabulous, too. I like to stay sweet.

Thanks for this thread, it's been very encouraging. I too have copd and out of desperation and barely able to breathe anylonger, switched to ecigs. My breathing was so bad that I couldn't wait for the first one I ordered to come through the mail and went to walgreens and bought the disposable blu cigs to hold me over until my first blu cig kit arrived. Cost a lot to buy all those disposables, but it was either that or I don't know what. I immediately went down to 4 analogs a day (from 1 1/2 ppd X 40 yr) and actually started to breath again. The blu cigs got too hot for me, the way I was smoking them I guess, and searching for something else, I bought the Janty Neo. With that, I stopped smoking completely (about 2 1/2 weeks ago). Also, found out that the puromizers don't last forever (got some helpful advice in another thread) and have been working with a half dead puromizer and blu cigs back and forth these past few days while waiting for a new puromizer to come through the mail (arrived today...phew!). The temptation to return to cigarettes during this period was enormous, because as grateful as I am for the blu cig, I can't stand them, they get too hot and taste awful even if I put my own ejuice in the cartomizer). The Janty seems to be working ok for me so far, but again, I'm only on day one of my first puromizer replacement. I ordered some fluxomizers from gotvapes at the suggestion of someone on this board, and will post what I think when they arrive.

Meanwhile, if I vape a lot, I do get out of breath. I'm still hoarse and don't know how much of that is left over from tobacco or from the vaping PG. Mucous production in the throat is more now than it was before, and assuming/hoping that is good and not bad. Overall though, the fact that my breathing is improved, is a blessing. I await my next pft's and ct scan to see if there's been any significant change.

Well, that's my story for now.

Cheers!

Well hang in there CFMike it will only get easier and your breathing will get better. It has been 2 1/2 years for me and I have COPD as well. One good thing to remember is to have backups for the backups. I'm not real familar with the Neo but know it is nice looking although it is a little more expensive than other setups. It might be good to look around for a good cheaper ego type backup.
Congratulations on quitting the cigarettes!:toast:

Welcome Cigfreedmike! Not sure if that's supposed to be a play on Sigfried or not, but very cute name if it is. And cig free is a great name even if it isn't! I don't know anything about the blues, and I'm very new to this myself, 3 weeks tomorrow, but are you vaping straight pg, or a pg/vg blend? If so, what's the ratio?

lol Thyme. I've not ever had scrapple, but first saw it years ago on a cooking show or something. I like to try different things, but there are some things that folks just never need to eat far as I'm concerned. Scrapple and haggis are in that group for me, though lots of folks love em. And we won't even discuss calf fries!

I know there are Pat's people, and Gino's people and never the two shall mix. lol Or at least it would be rare. One thing on my bucket list is to go to Philly (never been), and get try a cheesesteak from both places. Do you get em wit?? lol

@ CigFreedMike...Welcome, lots of help here! I'm only 4 months cig free and I can say breathing is a lot better, have not been diagnosed with COPD, txtumbleweed and many others here go the extra mile to help out. It's all about getting off the 'killers' and stickin' with the 'thrillers'. :D Sounds like you have made up your mind and that is better than 90% of the battle. :2c: :toast:

I'm from near Philly, hope that's not apple flavored scrapple. Scrapple, for those not indigenous to Philly, is leftover parts of pork, heavily seasoned...seriously, go for Pat's cheese steak if in the area. Some things really don't change.

I'm with Debadoo on the scrapple from Pa. I tried a bite once...never again. I do like the Philly Cheese Steak, and there is nothing that compares to a genuine 'Philly'...got the 'T' shirt and the hat on that one. It's a long walk from here to Philly though, so gota just go on memory now. :(

Thank you everyone! I am using PG 100% for the Janty. I think anything else will gum up the works with their puromizers. In fact, I think the first ones I got with it may have been ruined by using supposedly 100% PG from crystal liquid. Not sure, but some of thsoe in the sample pack were quite viscous and I imagine it didn't help. To be on the safe side with this new puromizer, I'm using the Janty 100% pg only. I do fill the used cartomizers for the blucig with the crystal liquid (they say 100% pg). The blu cig cartomizers are disposable and are not 'meant' to refill, and are also 100% VG rather than PG.

I haven't tried any of the glass tanks. They all use punched cartos don't they? I wish they would come out with a glass tube for the Nova and I would get one. They have metal ones now but I like to be able to easily see how much juice I have left.

Right the glass tanks need a punched carto. I just ordered a punch, haven't got it yet but ordered some XL Boge SR to try in it. I don't like teh dual coil I am using now but they are pre punched. The glass tanks are fabulous, I got mine here- High Desert Ecigs They are very nice! He is getting some new ones in as well but his stock is still on sale right now, pretty reasonable for a pyrex hand blown glass tank. They do not leak. bnrk

Oh wow Scrapple! Haven't had it for years, I used to live in Lancaster, PA, love Philly Cheese Steaks, haven't been in Philly for years either!! I also miss the "shore" those yearly treks to the beach all we PA people did/do. Missing those crab cakes in Ocean City, MD now- ha ha bnrk

CigFree I started playing with ecigs a couple of years ago and knew I could quit with the right amount of equipment, etc. I bought a Greensmoke and a Smoketip kit, their cartos came prefilled and I tried refilling them, but I had no clue about all the juice and stuff and don't remember a lot of sites with juice for filling your own. The point is that a carto, as you probably have found out is cleanable and refillable...even if it came prefilled. hang in bro you can do it! :vapor:

Welcome CigFreedMike!! Congratulations on the start of your journey without the cigarettes! It is a journey. Lots of different things to try and if you honestly give it a chance you'll find what makes you happy. There's lots of good people here who are more than happy to help.

Thymetravler, welcome. Glad someone else here loves the Philly scrapple. Habbersett is my favorite, fried up crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Haven't had it in awhile, but now I'm going to have to go out and get some! (For those not familiar with it, it's got a cornmeal base and comes in a loaf shape so you just slice it and fry it.)

Welcome, Mike. We have a great group here with lots of varied experiences and vaping gear. If you run into trouble or have any questions, someone will probably be able to help. And we'll encourage you every step of the way. So gla you're breathing is better already. Extra mucous production is normal for most of us in the first few monthswhile your lungs are getting rid of all that junk. Congrats on 1 1/2 weeks!

Ok - my Xtar WP2 came today. It has 2 charging rates 500 mA and 1000 mA. My Pila is fixed at 600 mA.

My batts are AW IMR 18350, 18450, and 18650's. Is it safe to charge them at the 1000 mA rate?

I have read that it is safe and much faster. I also remember reading long ago that a slower charge was better for your batteries in the long run. Unless you're in a big hurry, I'd charge at a slower mA. Just my .02.

Jewels, I did some research on the AW IMR batts. Looks like charging at 1Amp w/ the Xtar is well within specs for the following batts. I haven't run across a slower charger is better, but I'll be watching out for that too. Even the lower rated batts are good up to 1.5A and 1A w/ the Xtar is just 2/3's of it's max. To this 'dummy' that seems well within the batts acceptable charging rate.

AW IMR Battery specs

Nominal Voltage : 3.7V

Now me still wonders if the not-AW IMR flat top batts I got from the battery co-op have similar specs w/ respect to max. charging rate?

Hiya cigfreed and tyme. Brother's wife's family used to make scrapple but they used some pretty good cuts of pork. It's been years but that made a pretty good breakfast with some eggs.

I'm glad you're here. I can only tell you that even without any chronic illnesses (except sinus problems/allergies), I feel much better than I did 2-3 months ago. I am still coughing up "stuff" and I'm glad to be rid of it.

Mike, my Mom had COPD and got involved with a rehab group at the local hospital. Not only made her more active but I'm sure it prolonged her life. The social gatherings of that group also enhanced her life.

Hi thymetraveler, nice to meet another vapor from SE PA. We're almost neighbors, I'm just down the NE Extension from you in Central Montgomery Co. And yea, scrabble is a Philly favorite in our house too. And ya gotta have Cheese Wiz on a steak samwich on an Amorosa roll. :toast:
