Older Folks and Vaping

Someone asked about the Vamo so am updating on it:

It works great with my 18650 battery but not at all with 18350. Both batteries are new and fully charged Trustfire 3.7v using the same 2.0-2.4 Boge carto. With the 18350, loosing the end cap will make it come on briefly but then it, evidentally, turns itself off with a dead screen and won't fire. Well, actually I used the 18650 before it was done charging because I wanted to see if it worked with it and it did without any problems and cap fully tightened down. I have posted on a Vamo thread so will see what is replied and I've contacted Bombvapor to see what they say. Will let you know.

I had a VAMO for a short time (too big/heavy for me) and it would not work with Ultrafire or Trustfire 18350 protected batteries. I got some IMR Efests and it worked fine. It also worked with protected Panasonic 18650's

It worked out for me because I got a mini Apollo VTube and an ego t/c 18350 mod and they both require the IMR batteries.

Well, it's nice to hear its working for you. Quite strange. I didn't even realize the VAMO can be set to 4 watts. Just for the heck of it, I tried it w/ 2.7Ω atty. It barely produced any vapor. Back to 7.5 watts real fast.

If there's a good deal I'm gonna stumble on it. Even if its not marked down on the shelf, it will be at the register. If there's a cop up the road and I'm speeding, he won't see me or is busy stopping someone else. Out of a thousand receipts I kept, I didn't save or can't find the one I need. And if something "quite strange" happens, its going to be to me.... And is the reason some think me either spacey or a drama queen until they get to know me and see what happens to me... just the luck of the draw as they say. ;-)

ECX is looking into to offering them but I think they're concerned about diacetyl and similar molecules in some of the NF flavors which is a legitimate concern.

ETA: ECX has ordered the NF flavors also. They're working on getting them added to their site.

Thanks for the info Gloria. Doesn't look like ECX has them up yet and HDV only had 2 of the 10 flavors I was hoping for. I'll keep looking.

Jewels, now you have me digging up all my old research about making my own again. I dropped it for a while with no real spare time with all of my renovating and trips, but it is all starting to slow down now so I guess I may take the time to becoming more self sufficient depending upon what they cut out when they decide to govern this stuff... For now, just brushing up and getting ready if we have to that is...

vaperite.com also has NF flavors but they're kind of pricey compared to HDV. I was very tempted to just buy samples of their pre-made since it's made from the NF flavors. That's the lazy person's way to try out some DIY flavors.

Thanks. I think that's right because I fiddled with it some more after posting the update. Even when I set it to 7 watts it changed changed the wattage itself and then quite like it was doing before. So I'm getting IMRs because I like the length better... and I agree it is heavy. In fact, I read its the heaviest mod made so far. Here's how I was answered on another thread:

"Is it an IMR? If they're protected TF batteries, then the protection is probably tripping. Only use IMR batteries in a boost mod, especially in 18350 mode. "

Good morning, all......oops, it's afternoon!

It's cold here in Florida, relatively speaking, but it's also a welcome change. Glad I kept all my winter stuff and it sure comes in handy for our walks.

Once I get all caught up on reading, seems to be no time to post! Then, I forget who/what I wanted to post to, so I simply 'like'.

I'm doing so many different things right now that I'm confusing my own self!

I'm such a newbie to DIY that I allowed it to overwhelm me, so I've decided to concentrate on getting the nic and freezing it, and I'll learn how to mix later when I'm more relaxed. I know it's easier for some folks than others, and I'm afraid that I'm one of the 'others'.....LOL

I have 500ml of 48mg 100%PG coming soon, and want to cut it down to 18mg. Thinking of making it 50PG/50VG for simplicity's sake, but 70/30 or 80/20 would be acceptable also. Not concerned if the mg count goes down because I intend to do that eventually anyway. I have enough of PG/VG to make the cut.

Anyway, that's where I am right now, and now dh and I are going out for a nice brisk walk in the sun while it's still out.
