Great catch, Mike! I totally forgot 'bout that reset function since I've had nada, nil, zero, zilch, etc. issues with my eGo batts.

I wonder if my CRS is affected by da tides...

Yepper! Your CRS is acting up. Looks like you didn't remember responding to me, so ya did it again.

It has been suggested to me that the VG eGO batts I had were probably knock-offs. SO, I am likely not going to buy those again. In don't approve of buying counterfeit merchandise AND IMHO counterfeit battery operated devices are potentially less safe.

Having said all that.... I've narrowed down potential replacement devices to 4 choices.

VAMO VAMO Rev.2 Variable Power (adjustable wattage), Variable Voltage APV - Chrome

SQUIRE TUBE http://www.smokerevolt.com/18350MiniTube

eGO TWIST https://www.cignot.com/product_p/egc-tw1-all.htm

VISION SPINNER Vision Spinner Variable Voltage 1300mAh eGo Battery

For use w/ IBT 19mm tanks, Boze LR single coil cartos, CE5s and Kanger T2s.

OPINIONS?? ADVICE?

Thank you in advance!

Natasha - I have a Vamo and it works fine. Janet has Joye brand eGo's still working for 12-16 months. Some no-name ones lasted a couple months.

Also - I'm not aware of any tanks that are made specifically to use dual coil carto's and/or single coil carto's. The nickname DCT for Dual Coil Tanks came about because Smoketech first marketed them with dual coil carto's. But you can use either type carto in it. The only major difference in a tank is it's length. Is it sized for standard length carto's or XL size carto's.

Good Lord! Lucky she was still standing there and had not gone to bed or left the house! These kind of stories really worry me. I don't want to find that my home burned to the ground cuz of a faulty batt or charger!

Scary stuff like that is very rare, but it's good to be aware that it can happen. We have our chargers on the counter in the kitchen. We plug it in when we're charging a battery and unplug everything when it's done, just for peace of mind. We try to remember not to leave them plugged in when we go to bed or leave the house either. I'm not really worried, just thought it would be a good habit to get into and then we don't have to worry.

I will Glady give my opinion. Please do not confuse it for advice!

IF I wanted a device with replaceable batteries (I don't presently own or need any), I would get this one because it is reasonably priced, can be used in different configurations (short or long) and it has Variable Wattage which I feel would be a distinct advantage over most other devices which are Variable Voltage.

SQUIRE TUBE
I wouldn't touch it because it does not have any electronic protection for short circuit.(as far as I can tell)

eGO TWIST
I own several and would not hesitate to own more. (Joyetech)

VISION SPINNER
I don't own any, but I would not hesitate to buy them. (Vision) They have the advantage of easier to read numbers.

For use w/ IBT 19mm tanks, Boze LR single coil cartos,
Probably the reasons that I don't like carto tanks is:
1) I don't like cartos
2) I don't like tanks
(You may want to get a second opinion on these. My opinion may be slightly prejudiced!)

OK

Kanger T2s.
Probably the most popular device right now. I don't own them yet but I will with my next order.

*****

I am presently happy with my Twist and Mini Nova combo.

*****

And to add a comment on your carto experience:

You may be disappointed with the eGos performance, but the electronic protection did exactly what it was designed to do. The electronics trips the circuit so that the batteries don't over heat or explode.

When you drop a fork in a toaster; don't curse the circuit breaker for tripping! Lol

Enjoy shopping!

OK..I THINK I have decided to order 2 spinners and 1 vamo. With the spinners, I will go ahead and order their USB charger and wall adapter. Yes, I have the ones that came w/ the egos, but I have no idea as to their quality. If the eGOs were knockoffs, could the chargers be crap?

As to the VAMO, w/ the "make it a kit" there are these choices.

(1) Efest 18650 Hybrid IMR 2250ma battery - button top [+$9.99]
(1) Efest 18650 IMR 2000ma battery - button top [+$8.99]
Multi Li-Ion Charger [+$8.50]
Trustfire TR-001 Charger -black [+$9.50]
Trustfire TR-001 Charger -white [+$9.50]
Set of Efest 18350 800mA button IMR's [+$12.00]

WTH do I choose?? See, this is WHY I don't order this stuff..... I'm thinking I'd rather it be shorter than longer, so the 2 18350 batts and the Multi Li-Ion charger... do I need anything else?

I would go for a XTAR WP2 II charger. It does cost more, but it's a better charger by a long shot. Panasonic or AW batteries are the best. Get a Vamo body, and purchase the batteries and charger separate. The Spinners are a good choice.

The Vamo is a great deal. I've had mine a couple of months with no problems. The 1300 Spinner is also a good deal for a smaller unit. I don't use cartos or carto tanks so I'm no help there. I prefer the Vision Vivi Nova, Vapeonly BCC mega and my new Kanger Protank (when it gets here)with my Vamo and Kanger T2 , MT3's and Evods with my ego type pv's

Is there really a difference between a battery that says eGo and one that says Joyetech? My two batteries say eGo on them, got them as a kit from HHV, and I just ordered a bunch (4) yesterday from a China site..they ALSO say eGo. 1 is for my Sister in law along with a USB charger (I have an extra wall charger for her), and a spare for her. A spare for me and one for me that has Dragons...Oh yes my Precious.....MINE MINE ALL MINE!!! I figure if my SIL kills hers I"m not out a ton of money and she can buy her own after that!

HHV isn't on the Joyetech copycat list, so they should be genuine. Some vendors do sell fake eGo's though.

Molli......you're getting into that murky area of things that are knock offs of the original. Some may be just as good, but others most certainly won't be. Joyetech was the orignator of the eGo, but you're gonna see all kinds of things out there called that.............. ;)

Ok..checked the list..not on there. :) And it's basically a one off for me, so I'll take my chances..

Here's the NiteCore charger...free shipping http://www.crystalclearvaping.com/Nitecore-I2-Intelli-charger_p_195.html

He also sells efest batteries for a good price: Efest Batteries Use 10off4march for a 10% d/c.

I had a Vamo and sold it. I found it too big and heavy even in the 18350 version. With a 18350 battery, I thought of it as cop's baton.

I'm going to suggest an ego c/t 2 mod with a 18350 tube. Joyetech eGo-T/C 2 Upgrade Mod Control Unit and Joyetech 18350 Battery MOD Tube This set up will allow you to expand in the future. You can get a 18650 tube (the eVic tube) and if you want VV/VW, the eVic control head will work with these.

I realize it's frustrating and confusing and having something fail is a bummer. Just keep in mind all the stinkies you're not smoking. A bit of time and experience (and $$$) and you'll be making suggestions along with the rest of us. Keep :vapor:

Natasha - One last thing to try with the 'bad' eGo batts. Some eGo brands (I know Joye brand does) have a reset function. Click the button 10 times real fast. This worked on a couple of ours when they wouldn't charge.
I was not even aware of this... I have 2 eGos... will have to remember 10 clicks to reset. THANKS!!!

Well, my bedroom is going to smell like kiwi for a while. I just ATTEMPTED mixing up some juice, and I fumbled fingered the flavoring bottle.:facepalm:
heh - good thing you were not trying to replicate roadkill juice!!! at least kiwi is a nice flavor.
