Hi OnnaB. Thanks for sharing your story. Isn't it great that we not only have e cigs available but modern technology lets us share our experience with each other. Hang in there and keep coming back to let us know how you're doing.

I now know that failing to quit smoking was not just about the chemistry. I missed the act of smoking. This time I quit without any hassle and I did not feel like something important was missing. I do miss my Bic when I find a tick on one of the dogs but now I just give them to my wife to burn. She is "trying" vaping and may just quit analogs because of the ticks :D

Hey Harley - one big selling point to bikers would be you can vape while you ride - kind of hard to do with a lit cig (LOL)...

You'd be surprised how many of them manage to smoke while they ride. I used to ride with a lady that was 70-something...she smoked like a chimney running down the road. She was pretty awesome....would jump on her Harley and ride cross country with someone, or by herself.

After smoking 40+ years, my wife and I went to vaping in February 2011, so 1 year 4 months now. I smoked less than a pack a day but J (my wife) smoked 2+ packs of full strenght 120 Saratogas. We were turned on to vaping by a couple 25 years younger who were pretty heavy smokers before they switched. Thanks to them we haven't touched an analog since we started vaping. In gratitude I hope it's OK to give them a plug here. They went on to operate VapinInTheCape.com.

We started out with a the little disposable ecigs then upgraded to the Leo Boge. We moved from tobacco flavors originally to trying all kinds of eliquids--thanks to sampler packs. My regulars are peach and pineapple. J vapes all varieties of chocolate and coffee. We would never go back. Our health wasn't noticeably bad, but J's blood pressure dropped to normal almost immediately so no more meds for that.

I wish every smoker I know would try vaping. I can't say enough good about it and also can't imagine giving it a go and ever going back to analog cigarettes.

Congrats and welcome.
I was born in Billings and spent much of my childhood in Laurel. I miss those mountains and weekend drives through Yellowstone.

Hey Folks!
I have been reading this thread for about 1 week (Took me that long to read all of it...lol) I think I may jump in here, if I may.
I am 48, began smoking at 17. The way I see it, because Mom smoked before, during, and after the pregnancy...I have had nicotine in my system all my life. I have smoked as many as 3 packs a day, although the majority of my 30+ yr "career" was on 2 PAD.
I have always been a hard core smoker. Bronchitis? Can't breathe? 10 minutes over a vaporizer, run outside to smoke while I CAN breathe...sigh. Any small cold instantly means I'm in for a bad cough and lingering bronchitis. I DO have to say that although I was a heavy smoker, I didn't get annual bronchitis or have a bad smoker's cough. If I had, I may have tried harder to quit!
Mom died from lung cancer 11 years ago. My father almost died from alcoholism and he made us all (3 kids) promise to quit smoking if he went to rehab. My brothers both quit within 1 yr of that promise...I continued to smoke.
If ANYONE badgered, bullied, or otherwise gave me hell for smoking, I just dug my heels in and smoked harder and faster! (Not sure what I was trying to prove there...lol)
Enter vaping. I was shown the Blu e-cig by a supervisor at work 2 yrs ago. I just knew there had to be something better than that model, so I went online and found ECF. I SO wanted to vape, but had no cash. Some very kind soul offered to send me his 901, charger, and a few juices...FREE!!! What a guy...my angel! I moved from that to an eGo. I was doing okay vaping, cutting back on cigs, but I never got to quitting. Various things happened all at once and the ease of smoking (no fiddling, etc) just made things easier at that time....I went back to smokes.
About 3 weeks ago I dug out my eGo and stuff I knew I had here (the rest is in storage a state away) and tried vaping again. My eGo bats didn't last long because they ARE 2 yrs old. I discovered clearomizers and loved that idea over carts and atomizers...ordered some of them.
I am now 3 days NOT smoking!! I feel better day-to-day and there are still cravings (my GF still smokes, but is working with my old eGo kit) but I vape through...so far, so good!
This group seems very supportive and genuinely cares for each member. Thanks so much for allowing me here...after reading the previous 57 pages, I feel I know you already!

WOW OnnaB11 That's a great story. Congratulations on making it 3 days so far. Truly, good for you! I accidently quit smoking when I found vaping and would never go back. You don't realize how much better it is to vape until you really give it a shot. Stick with it. Don't beat yourself up if you slip, just try to work through the craving times by picking up your eGo. Try new flavors etc to keep up the interest and enjoy the journey!! Any number of good folks here will help you if you have any questions or just need some support.

Going on the first big motorcycle ride of the year tomorrow. There is a big Blessing of the Bikes at one of the Harley dealers in Sturgis, Michigan tomorrow. My roommate is a singer, and will be doing "God Bless the USA", and "Midnight Cry". I know a bunch of the bikers up there, as I worked there for a couple of years....will be interesting to see what they have to say about my "newfangled cig"....maybe some more converts.....

Your new hobby is going to impress several of your friends I bet and won't they be shocked! Have a great time. Be safe.

I tried your Kahlua coffee extract and just could not get it right. I even let it steep to where I was afraid to try it because it got so dark - I was sure it would kill an atty and still nothing... I have trouble tasting subtle flavors - even after 8 months of vaping. I mostly just stick with black coffee and just mix in different flavors... The spikier ones are the best for me (brandy, cherry, and such)...

I even bought some kahlua flavoring to try that and it just did not tickle my fancy, but the funny thing is I love to drink Kahlua coffee...

Yea, I guess I should try again also - Good Night...

Oh my, that's a big one. You don't mess around do you. That Zenesis looks like an interesting piece of equipment, I've never heard of it before. I'm going to do some investigating into that one.
With the Z-Atty-Pro,you screw it on your Provari and have a tank and replaceable atty. P.Busardo did an interview with the maker and showed some of his stuff. It looks nice on the Provari (I think it does anyway).

If either of you are interested in an inexpensive rebuildable atty that's getting lots of good things said about it - check out this thread. "Chopper" just started selling this a couple weeks ago, and they've become pretty popular already. I think they're like $55 shipped.

I didn't know about that one,I'll have to check that out!
Also both my wife and I have our Provari's on the way, should get them Monday the 4th. To bad we're visiting family in Florida, and wont be home till the 10th.:(

Hello, glad to hear your giving it another go.Your story sounds similar to mine (and many others). I"ll be 49 in a few months, and smoked for over 35yrs. Tried EVERYTHING to quit and nothing worked....until vaping. It's been almost 3mo,and I feel better than I have in a long, long time.
I don't miss my morning hack sessions one bit!:D

I live in Michigan, and here's my story. After smoking for over 40 yrs, I decided to give the ecig a try. About a month ago I purchased one at the gas station. Not so good. About a week later I bought a diff one. Still not so good. My husband noticed a coworker using an ecig. He asked a lot of questions. We looked up the brand and all the reviews were all positive. My husband ordered a kit for me. I really like them. Unfortunately, a week later I'm switching netween analogs and the ecig. Throughout my life I tried to quit. I did manage to quit for short times. I can't wait to dump my real cig. In Michigan tjey have changed something about analogs. Now the box says FSC. Fire safety cigarettes. They are made to go out automatically if you dare to set them in an ashtray. You have to smoke like a crazy fool or you end up buying more cause they go out very quickly then you end up relightling the stub you have left. You end up buying more than you used to. No worries with ecig, thank goodness
