I want to share an experience.

I have been noticing my taste buds and smell are coming back. Good news you say? For the most part, I need to be more careful though!

The other day My wife and I were at a high school basketball game and the crowd was so big we had to sit at the bottom of the bleachers. After halftime the boys came in, running by us and OMG!!!!! I haven't smelled BO like that since I was in the NAVY, ACK!! I had to move up and squeeze in a little higher in the bleachers and found a spot behind an older couple (how cute), I thought BO was overwhelming? The lady had perfume on that would gag a horse!!!

Thank God (I think) I can smell again  I hope my taste buds don't treat me the same way!!!!!

I just wanted to say you all are an inspiration. My two cents:

I love smoking. I smoked for about fifteen years quit cold turkey half a dozen times. Always lasted about two-three months. I liked smoking so much I just started back again. But my wife used to "attack" me with a can of lysol spray after coming in from having an analogue. My problem was that I did not want to quit. Besides the nic fix, I loved the act of smoking, seeing the smoke rise, blowing it out my mouth, blowing smoke rings.

So I finally tried an e-cig. Now I am delving into vaping. I am frustrated sometimes because of all the choices out there and sometimes some of the choices just don't work. But I have found on brand of juice I love and it works very well with a T2 and an ego bat. I am happy. My wife is happy. I breath better. Just today I was standing outside a building vaping away and someone asked me for a light. I told them with pride that I did not have one; it was electric.

Long live vaping!

Woohoo - nice story! I was lucky my wife and I both smoked and switched to vaping at the same time. Sure glad I didn't have to content with a lysol lady.

Because I think that people should be acknowledged for their kindness I wanted to share with you the message I sent to Digimon2k (registered supplier deejStuff eLiquid, The Apocalypse can wait...) for what he offered in the ecf Veterans Thread for the drawing. It included charger/batteries/carts/extension etc and winners were also given a 1 year subscription to ecf. That's a pretty impressive and generous thing for him to do! (Hubby gave me the DUD with the pyrex tank) :

IT'S HERE!!! I have a Pretty Purple ProVari Mini. It's all warmed up and hubby (Mike E3) set me up with a DUD with a pyrex tank from Ibtanked. I've named it Petra because its kind of like a pet that I'm going to have to take care of.

Thank you, thank you so much for supporting ECF and giving us a chance to win such a fabulous prize!

Yes, they do make a purdy purple. I gotta say though that the drawing listed a black full size one. Digimon said he hadn't ordered it yet and wanted to know what color display I wanted so I asked it he could make it a mini in purple instead with the blue display and he immediately ordered it. I think we were notified last Friday (?) and I have it already which means that ProVape sent it to him and he in turn mailed it to me. Geeze, he must have run to the post office! He seems to be a really nice person because he knew that the winners would be anxious to get their prizes. Right on his site it says

Deej's mission: Do right by people, and bring smiles to faces everywhere.

I like that!!

Oh Janet - that sure is a really purdy purple :hubba: This is so awesome that not only did you win such a great prize, got to choose the mini in purple but super awesome that you received it this fast. Deej must be one great guy :thumb:

Ken - I am glad I didn't miss the post where you told us you changed your screen name - cause I confuse easy too. It is funny that you mention the returning sense of smell. While mine is still not great - I did notice today that I was noticing more scents. Fortunately I didn't run into any BO or overly perfumed folks. However - I might have to do something about the plugged in air freshener in my computer room - it did seem a lot stronger today

So many new people - I am sure I am missing some. Welcome ElProximus and any others if I missed you.

Oh Yay I got mail today :mail: in preparation for my heading into the DYI - at least for juice - I ordered an atomizer to drip on 8-o Since I didn't want to just order this one thing from someone else - I went ahead and ordered it from my juice vendor. So of course he is limited in what he has and a couple of them were pretty low oHm so not sure they would even work on my Twists. So I ended up ordering a Phoenix (Bully 2) 510 Rebuildable Dripping Atomizer / RBA  glad it was only 7.99, but I know I am not ready to start re-building attys.

Anyway - thankfully it came with a 2.0/2.4 Ohm Resistance coil already installed and ready to vape. So I watched a few Youtube videos and figured that since everything I have been doing for the last 3 months is by the seat of my pants - what the heck - just drop in some juice and give it a try. So according to the vendor - it will hold 5-10 drops (seems like a lot of variation to me) so I started with 7 and fired it up.

I imagine I will probably have to vape thru the first drops and add some more before I really know how it will work - I did have vapor and some flavor - but not as good as my Vivi Nova - yet. I figured I should try it with a juice I was familiar with before I try to use it with any of my DYI creations.

I am sure I have to get use to it - how much to put in - when does it need more. Definitely not as easy as my clearomizers - where I can see when they need juice

So I am still waiting for my purple spinner from the states - I sure hope it gets thru customs soon  it will be 2 weeks tomorrow - I have to assume that somehow I would be notified if it was returned to the vendor. Funny I ordered from my juice vendor on Sunday and it arrived today - so I have some new toys. I also ordered a Mini Vivi Nova from him - since the on from the states is not here yet and I really wanted to try it - so - off to load it up with some juice that has been steeping since my last order.

Happy vaping all :vapor:

Kari, maybe you should contact the vendor and ask if they know anything about the shipment you haven't received. It could simply be that it's lost or they may be able to find out where it stopped moving.

I use an i06 to drip for tasting a new juice because it's easy to clean out. It does take a little getting used to. If it tastes OK then I go ahead and fill my mini nova or whatever I'm using at the time. I also use the i06 at night to vape my "0" juice before sleep. I should just designate a regular tank for that. Some people like to drip a lot, but I find it frustrating to have to carry a juice bottle with my PV and to always be adding drops. I just didn't want the fuss. Some people enjoy that though.

Good luck with your mail, I hope it shows up soon.

Good for you!! It's so nice to hear of someone making a successful switch to vaping on your own. I'm so glad hubby and I switched together because you're right, there's tons of choices i the vaping world. The good people on this thread have been so helpful. There's always somebody happy to jump in to help or show us where we can find answers. Glad you stopped by and hope to see you often.

Funny, since I quit smoking I have needed a lighter twice; once to light birthday candles and once to light my portable heater. I carry one in the car now :)

Ha! Yeah, I wanted to light a candle the other day and had to stop and think where I had any matches or a lighter. And to think that for almost 50 years I ALWAYS had both with me at all times.

Janet, that is a good idea and I will try that. I will probably give it until Monday - since by then it will be 2 weeks since the last update. With the ePuffer kit - the first order came from Toronto and took 4 days. Then for some reason the second order came from New York and it took two weeks after the tracking stopped.

If I just didn't have to have purple - I could have ordered it from Canada and it would have been here. You just never know how long it will take to get thru customs. It is not like I am in desperate need for it

Fellow vapers,

I have tried cartomizers and just love the smoktech LR's but even the XL that holds 1.6 ml doesn't last long enough between filling/topping off. I have tried clearos, off brand garbage, wicked and wickless. I like the wickless clearos best as the seem to have less dry hits/burning.

I want to try a larger clearo or tank system, no more than 3-4 ml, not much more than $10. I hear (mostly) good things about the vision vivi nova's and am highly considering it.

What say you?

Oh, and it needs to be something that I can put in a pocket or the console in my car while I vape another flavor, and not leak.

I really like the Vivi Nova and the Mini Nova. You mention that 1.6 ml doesn't last long enough for you so I would recommend the Vivi Nova because the Mini (although it says 2.5 ml) holds approximately 1.6 ml. They both also wick easily so that they produce lots of vapor which means that they go through juice quicker (the increased vapor has to come from somewhere, Lol).

I have had no problems with leaks but it can seep if it is kept inverted for a long time. With reasonable precautions they are very leak proof. I was so happy when I first found them because I had always carried a tissue in my pocket to clean off my battery on a regular basis and since I started using them I no longer have to.

They are not perfect but they are the best I have found so far. I'm sure this year will see many new products come out and hopefully they will be better all around. In the mean time....

Relax, Enjoy!

Thanks for the info X P3.

I have heard that there are many knock offs for the vivi nova stuff, I assume the real thing is the best thing? If that is true, where can I find one or two for a reasonable price?

Vision is the best that I have found. Unknown brands are unknown quality (Could be better, Lol)

I would recommend http://altsmoke.com/vision-vivi-replacement-coil-tank-kit.html because:
1) Vision brand = known quality
2) Price is reasonable ($9.95 for tank and 3 heads)
3) Comes with a 2.4 ohm head installed but you can choose the ohms of the other 2 heads.

Keep in mind when you are shopping that others prices may include 3, 2 or only 1 head!
I clean the heads regularly and get (usually) over a months use from 1 head. I prefer the 1.8 head on a Twist (keeping in mind that they are mass produced and the resistance is usually a little higher than the nominal rating). The 2.4 ohm head is OK, the 2.8 ohm head is made with a thicker coil and lasts a very long time but I personally do not prefer it.

Wick and wire is available to re-coil these if you would like. Otherwise the heads are quite cheap (and cheaply mass produced) so convenience may be a factor.

Well looks like my whining earlier paid off - my Purple Spinner and Purple MT3 arrived today

Ken - I am really liking my Vivi Nova - but I didn't at first. Seemed like it needed at least one tank full and a cleaning - but now it is great. I just got my Mini Vivi Nova yesterday and now another one with my order today. So far it is a little muted compared to it's big brother - but it probably needs to break in too. We will see.

Same thing with the new MT3 - flavor not as good as the T3 I have had for awhile. I don't know if it is breaking them in - or if it is my still somewhat dead tastebuds - so so days everything tastes good - otherdays - not so much YMMV.
