What do you think about this box? I'm considering it.

Innokin iTaste MVP 2600mAh Box APV Body

Hi Curmudgeon....I've got one & it's pretty nice. I've got a real small hand & no prob with the size; my main complaint is that it's a bit on the heavy side so I mostly use it as a pass-thru which isn't bad to just unplug & run if you need to. They've also had some complaints about the connection coming loose & no way to fix it since it's a sealed unit; also, some folks don 't care for the placement of the button-not really a prob IMO. I will say that I do like the clearo it comes with. I gave up on clearos ages back & have been sticking with my old carto/tank, but, this one has been going strong (in rotation) for over 3 weeks...nice.

Don't know if this helped or confused you - hope it helped a little. Ohhhhh - nice solid unit for the price & if you check on Vapor Joe, you'll see they're coming out with a new model that's not a box....better stop now as I'm probably rambling - sorry.

The eGo end caps are designed to pop off during a 'pop off'. <Ooops, just read Dave's post. He covered it.>

I'm not too worried about my regular egos but I am now about the passthroughs unless the innards are designed somehow to just blow the cap but I don't see how. I think the battery sits on top of the usb at the bottom. They're all 650 mah and judging by the length differences that's a pretty big piece to be blowing across the room. Pssshhhew.... usb missle. So, yeh, I'm getting a battery bag.

Oh gosh... I just thought... what about when I'm using it as a passthrough. Could it blow then? Its charging then.

Looking at mine, it would appear that should something really bad happen, it would all just fall apart. There is no evidence of crimping and there's no apparent glue involved so it's just a pressure fit. If the battery decided to terminate and expand, the end would just pop out and hang there. The most damage, if it were to happen to me, would be my nerves and the effort it would take to pry me off the ceiling. But then, I drive a car that has many cylinders that (I'm told) internally combust and explode in sequence constantly and I try not to think about it.... much.

Looks great, but for me it has the same problem that most mods have. The carto, tank or whatever you use on it is external and working in a garage I find new and interesting ways to test the build quality of them. Round mods roll off benches when laid down, all of them fall out of a pocket when you bend forward to far trying to get that nut off or helping one of my techs. When Mike posted about the Billet Box I went over and read what Doug had to say and it sounded like me talking about what I would build if I had the knowledge and equipment. I have been looking for something like it since I quit using minis and started using real mods. I can let you know in about 6 months if unintentional abuse will kill one of them.

And many of us carried plastic butane lighters in our pockets. And operated them near our faces. And they do blow up more often than e-cig batteries.

eGo batteries are electronically protected and are housed in open ended tubes that have loosely fitted end caps.
Mechanical tube mods do not have electronic protection and have screw on connections that form a tight seal. They need vent holes because the end cap is not going to come off.

I am not afraid of the eGo design. It is actually well thought out, protected, and any battery failure does not produce explosive force.
Dramatic, but not explosive. Explosions are created when the pressure cannot be released easily.

I have one and like it a lot. It is very well built and battery lasts a day or two before needing recharged. :)

Ok what kind of battery's do yall use to get that much time or is it I just vape to much? My vamo with the double stacked 18350s @ 4.7v and the best its lasted is about 18 hours. Now I am up 16–20 hours a day are your "days", closer to 10 hour days and my 18 hour day is about the same or am I vaping to much?

It's the new short tube for Ego-T Mod (also will fit eVic for using 18350) and the new version Ego-T Mod Control Unit, which I love the button on. Haven't decided yet if I like the drip tip or not but wanted a metal one.

Thanks Iffy and everyone who gave info about the Ego's.

Also, my cheapie mechanical mod will be here Saturday. I love the whole idea but didn't want to spend a lot to try one. I did make sure it's vented :) and also have a couple of those 2 cent thingies on the way. (The 2 cent thingies are on sale for $4.99 at Empire if anyone needs one)

Have a super duper wonderful day!

Oh, geez, didn't realize how that sounded.

I'm about to turn 69 and smoked for 58 years. I just thought I was out of shape and getting old when my legs wouldn't carry me around the store. However, it was kind of fun riding those electric carts. ;-) Then my heart started pounding in my head and I couldn't walk at all. Off to the ER and admitted to the hospital where, after 20 hours, cat scans, mris, ECG and a few other tests plus constant oxygen (saturation was 60) I was told medicare might not cover it depending on how long I was there, I put up such a fuss they let me go home without an oxygen tank but still didn't know what was wrong with me. I found out what was though after my stepson was here with an ecig. Tried it. Loved it. Got one myself and, miraculously, all my symptoms left. I walk a mile a day. A ten-year cough is gone. My blood pressure came down. I can take a deep breath and always thought myself a shallow breather before. It goes on and on and on. But, suffice to say, I'm one happy camper. I can't say I like the cost of the lesson at $1,000.00 an hour in the hospital. A whopping $20,000.00 bill on a fixed income is not fun but I'm not smoking.

My only problem now is trying to break the chain vaping. I was a two-PAD smoker for the last 10 years so I hit the PV pretty hard though I have decreased nic starting with a few "drags" of 12 nic in the morning and then go down to 6,3, and end the day at 0 but I don't like being tied to it. I guess I took a long hard look at how tied I was to the act of smoking and don't like still being tied to vaping.

Okay, that's my vaping story and sorry I mislead on the age thing. You would never know it when I'm behind this keyboard but offline I'm kinda shy... well I guess what you would call a classic introvert. Breaking into a new group is a little nerve wracking for me but a keyboard helps me open up a bit. In fact, my own wordiness shocks me.

Hope everyone is having a good day. :)

Welcome and my goodness, I could have written what's in bold myself.

I'm 72 and smoked for over 45 years, and vaping has opened up a whole new healthy world to me, and I am grateful each and every day to my friend who introduced me to vaping almost 4 years ago.

Anyway, again, welcome and I do hope both of us will be posting more often. Such a helpful and friendly group we have here.

Some in Oregon would like to pass a law making it illegal to possess cigarettes or nicotine products without a prescription. Didn't look like it would pass time but...

Bill proposed in Oregon would make cigarettes prescription-only - KPTV - FOX 12

Ya know it's pretty bad were losing our choice to_____ but I can see this going through at some point just based off the fact the seat belt law passed I no longer as a adult have that as a choice because they THINK it's better/safer for me

Thank you Janet. I am going to pass this link on to my sister. She lives in Oregon. Try as I might I can't get her interested enough to give vaping a try. I wish I could afford to just buy her and her hubby each a starter kit and just send it to them. They live on a very fixed income so are afraid to invest in the equipment necessary to get started for fear it won't help them and will be wasted money. I was able to give my starter stuff to my youngest sister and she is doing really well with it. She has now bought herself a better battery and is no longer a smoker. With her it was easy to show her how everything works because she lives near by but it is so hard to explain everything to my older sister over the phone.
Maybe hearing that the state is even thinking about doing something like this will open her eyes to a better option. I can only hope.
