I'm 57 and smoked for most of my life since I was about 14. I tried quitting many times with no success. I quit smoking cigs the first day I started vaping once I got a decent APV. I started out with a basic Cig2O, which was just so so, and have gradually upgraded to what I have now, which is a Vision Spinner 1300 mah with CE4 clearomizers. I have some Baby Kanger T3s also, but not sure yet whether or not I like them.

Welcome terirose, I too started with something that was so so and then I found ECF and spent a couple of weeks reading and reading. I then upgraded to the eGo Twist and the CE4 clearomizers. At that point I just quit my 46 years of smoking. I have since added a 900 mAh spinner, the Vivi Nova, Mini Vivi Nova, T2 and T3s. So far I am liking the Vivi Nova and Mini Vivi Nova - mainly for ease of filling, cleaning and so far not leaking.

I do like the T2 and T3 - but they only seem to work when they are just cleaned and for the first half of the tank. After that - they often start gurgling and then leaking onto the battery :grr:

This is a great group here - but you do have to be careful when reading. I have to do the lala%20cant%20hear%20u.gif because they are always sharing neat and new things to spend your money on ;) I am not looking or spending any money this week - but they do make it tough

The turret tops don't work very well at all with glass bottles. I use 'em on my 120ml plastic bottles. I always have a nic base, a PG and a VG bottle on da ready.
Thanks Iffy! Gotcha!

Love getting vape mail on a rainy, cold, dreary Monday. New AGA-T2+ for my mini.

@Danidoo - Great thread on nic comparisons and really like the chart.

@Janet H - Thanks for he RTS Nic thread, good reading and some really good links to other threads in it. The thread definitely seemed to be anti RTS though. What are your thoughts on the odor, color and flavor of the RTS nic juice?

@ Whiplash - Welcome aboard - I use the twist to and am looking for a new mod. Both manual and VV. I have gotten a lot of great advice, links, and places to research from my friends here. I have also found out they do take commissions and will accept all major credit cards and Paypal!!

@ Gloria - I had been reading the threads about the differences in nic juice. Then saw the ones posted by Danidoo/JanetH and thought to stay away from the pepper tasting ones listed on the chart. Never occurred to me to try samples. As you and Iffy stated my brain never got round tuit. Wizards labs is out of action until sometime in Feb. due to moving their lab to Orlando Florida. So I am ordering 3 samples form different vendors.

While reading these threads I found this distributor of glass bottles. Specialty Bottle - Glass Bottles They sell the European bottles in ml and regular bottles in oz. I like the European bottles as I can use a syringe/blunt needle to extract the amount of nic I need with out fear of spilling. I seem to be very accident prone when it comes to the juices. If it is not leaking down the sides I knock the the little bottle over.

@Iffy - Never though about doing that way but looks really quite easy and great list by the way. Just what I needed to know to get me started.

@terirose - Welcome! Unlike a lot of people it took me several months to get to the vape only point. Great people here and a great plan to learn from the pro's!

@MikeE3 - Nice! You always have the coolest new Toy!

On a side note anyone use peppermint flavors and if so which do you find has the most true peppermint flavor?

Mike what's the easiest RBA?? Thinking about it..............

Fran I have a couple each of ZAPs, Chids/Duds, and AGAs. Honestly of these the ZAP is the easiest to work on because it has big screws and ample working area. That said, the cheapie ones can vape just as good when setup properly. What I don't like about the Chids/Duds & AGA aside from the tiny screws is to take the tank off and clean it, you need to completely disassemble it including the wick/coil. With the ZAP you can just slide the tank off and give everything a good cleaning without dismantling the wick/coil.

I don't know about the Cobra and it's clone the Chobra's. Don't know what size screws, etc. they have.

I'm liking the build quality of the new AGA I got today. It's all SS even the center post and they moved the wick hole closer to the center post so the positive lead to the wick will be shorter. This should help eliminate a common problem with the current AGA - having a hot positive lead glowing when doing a new coil.

And the tank top is held on securely with 2 o-rings - making it easy to turn it and align the air hole with the wick. Screw on tops don't always align the air hole with the wick and that's not a pleasant vape. You either have to keep the top cap loose, sand the bottom edge to get alignment or some other trick with the screw on tops.

There is a round #2 co-op just started for the new AGA that I got today.

So RBA's with big screws and the ability to take the tank off w/o mucking up the wick/coil, and easily being able to align the air hole with the wick are advantages to look for. I'll try to get pictures later to show you what I mean.

I DIY a nice TFA peppermint and find it to be very good. I haven't tried any other peppermint. It's a good light vape at 5% and very strong and minty at 20%

On April 11, 2009 both me and my boyfriend quit smoking with the drug Chantix. sure it worked, but it was still hell for me. A couple years went by and I had not been around smokers for 2 years because i just knew myself. i knew i would get tempted, then one day i met a my boyfriends 36 yr old daughter for the first time and although she was smoking outside the temptation was there. It wasn't as hard for my boyfriend because he at that time still had asthma really bad and used inhalers so I caved in and before I knew it I was smoking again. (outside, btw my boyfriend smoked for 39 years and i smoked for 28 years) after about a month I heard about e-cigs from his sister in Utah and I decided to give it a try. I found a local vapor store in my city and bought my first e-go T kit. I didn't like the atomizers. i kept burning them up, so I tried cartomizers. I liked that. About 6 month's later i started makeing my own E-juice, with much trial and error, but I got better at it. Then my boyfriend started using e-cigs because he saw i wasnt coughing chronically like I used to with cigarettes or getting bronchitis a lot. He loves it. He was diagnosed with COPD about a year ago and put on oxygen. Unfortunatly he still has breathing problems and has to use a breathing treatment machine (nebulizer) 4 times a day. His lung doctor said he would rather he didn't inhale anything but his lung medicine into his lungs but he also said that he knew e-cigs werent as harmful as cigarettes. We now use 1100 mah batteries and dct tanks that hold 6mlm My boyfriend loves the coconut flavor as i do, but I love the peach flavor I make too. I'm not into making fancy flavors like banana cream pie, or peanut butter and jelly or any of the endless mixed flavors.Too complicated for me right now. We make our own e-juice because it's less expensive. I am almost 52 and my boyfriend just turned 57 recently. I love vaping and I hope i meet some more middle aged vapors like us. young are welcome too. Vape away!!!:vapor:

Hi kariM. I get what you mean about seeing all the neat stuff that tempt us to spend more money. I like to keep it simple as possible and as inexpensive as possible. I have to stay in a budget for low income. I order most of my supplies like cartomizers, nico liquid, flavor drops,VG, PG ect online at Best Electronic Cigarettes and E-Liquid - MyFreedomSmokes.com I will order my stuff and then the next day i will see a sale on some of the stuff I ordered. Bummer! I look for coupon codes too at www.retailmenot.com If you know of any other website that sells stuff for vaping and is inexpensive and good, let me know. Cheers!:vapor:

Syringes are all I use! For everything. I have a 1 ml, 3 ml, 5 ml, and 10 ml. Blunt tips on all of them.

Question for the veteran DIY folks. I got my kit and there sure are a lot of droppers, measuring cups,
more droppers and a syringe. I inspected each item and it seems like it's ten different routes to the same
destination. Couldn't you just get by with the syringe?

I need to get some blunt tips and a bigger guage, the VG is like trying to suck silly putty into the syringe. I hav actually taken the needle off and it's a lot easier and faster.

LOL! many times, I take off the needle for VG! I sometimes use the 14 ga for VG, but as you said, it's like silly putty.
