Has anyone else had this problem? With freshly charged batteries, the display keeps flashing "Lo"? And sometimes the display sticks, and you have to pull the battery to get it to work?

The "Lo" thing happened to me and I thought the v8 was freaking out. I just pressed the battery door a little and it stopped. I guess the batts weren't in tight enough to keep a good connection.

Haha, I don't know about that, Sandy. I wouldn't fool with it too much since I don't know the first thing about volts and watts, etc. I do know that certain 18350s won't work in it since the positive connection is recessed a bit. The nipple on the batt has to be long enough for a good connection. Your spring also may need to be centered better on the negative end. Sometimes the springs can get pushed and squashed to the side while pressing in the batts. Someone else may be able to elaborate more on the connection issue. I'm sure that's all it is, though, if your batts are good and charged up.

Whenever springs are bent, I press them in the opposite direction with my finger to straighten them out. The springs on my V8 have been really good lately. I guess I got used to them and have a better method of inserting the batts. I kind of put the battery in at an angle, bottom edge first, just enough to press the springs down flat and slide the bottom and top of the battery in, almost at the same time. :D

Start reading around post 238. If it doesn't like your batteries, it will do that, especially if they are a mm or so too long. So far the only batteries it definitely likes are the ones that come with the kits and the AW IMR 18350.

For the springs, try depressing them with a credit card when you slide the battery in. When you pull the card out, the spring is already in position.

That's it, the springs get pushed to the side. How do you fix that? I tried grabbing it with a .... what do you call it grabby grippy needlenosed thingie and bending them but it didn't work.

Grabby grippy needlenose thingie, Lol. I love it! That sounds exactly like something I would say!

Is the Ovale V8 built by the same company that produces the Ovale Elips? Or am I missing something Ovales US and EU sites don't mention it?

My Ego C Twist also has "Ovale™" engraved on the chrome neck part, but they're not associated in any way with the Ovale V8 from what I've read.

Just got my Ovale V8 today, and its a pretty nice device :)

I dont really understand the people who claim, that it hits hard though. (6 volts on the Ovale V8, feels like 4 volts on my Vmax. Even my lavatube 2 hits harder)

I still like it though, (it performs well for the price, and it looks awesome with a white Siam mods delrin driptip)

Congratulations and welcome to the Ovale VV fan club hehe!!!

What ohm carto are you using? I can't go above 3.3v on my device and usually stick to 3.1, (because 3.0 is to risky to accidentally rotate to 6v).
Post a pic of your setup when you get a chance please :).

@Random85 - Sorry that its not totally Ovale V8 related, on my Bolt mod I was using DCT cartomisers and when I got my Vivi Nova and used it for a while the DCT would not fire at all and they did perfectly before. I read here and there that the Vivi Nova's post sticks out quite a bit so that might be the cause of it.

As of now the Vivi Nova works without issues but nothing else does. When I'm using the Vivi Nova in the future I will be sure to use a 510 - 510 adapter. Screwing up a mod's 510 connection would suck, screw up a adapter that's fine.

It does look like the end of the vivi nova have left some scratches at the buttom of the connection. (I just don't understand how that would ruin it. I have used Vivi nova on every mod I own, and nothing ever happend to any of them)

I Tried both an 510-Ego and 510-510 and the fire button just start flashing blue. The 2 novas doesn't work either if I put an adapter between them and the Ovale.

ahh this .... is annoying.

Because of the open 510 connection on the V8, I've always been paranoid about dripping juice into the box; I don't attach anything to it without a sealed adapter.
I HIGHLY recommend Twisted Texas' gooseneck. It's just fun to tinker with. :) MadVapes has a nice, cheap shorty 510 extension and the 47mm extension they sell for the Gripper as well.

Hey Flikka, fellow SA'n here. Welcome! See tips below.

How is it not working? Not firing the carto? Are the buttons still lighting up as normal, just not connecting and firing? Did you remove the 510-eGo connector?

In that case, maybe no need to panic. Firstly carefully clean the battery connector with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol. In fact it is better to always clean the threads and connector pins and posts on all devices regularly.
Secondly, the center pin of the Vivi Nova may have pushed down the post on your device. You need to slightly raise that post up again. Using a micro screwdriver or something, carefully lift the corners and try to raise the connector slightly. Then connect a carto, and check. Do this until it is high enough.

Also, all adaptors can be slightly adjusted too as they have a little give. Just carefully push inside the adaptor. Usually it is just a micro adjustment that is needed.

All batteries, cartomizers, connectors etc. can be adjusted on the center pin.

Good luck and let us know if you got it to work!

Dragonbone: Yeah it wouldn't fire with anything but the Vivi Nova (and that doesn't even work anymore)

The Ovale connector is completely ruined allready. I can't even get my vivi nova off it again...

When I try to unscrew the Vivi Nova, the Ovale connector is just turning around with it, making it impossible to get the Vivi Nova off it again (I would have to take the Ovale apart, to be able to do anything)

It doesn't fire the Vivi at all anymore either...

The Ovale was nice for the few hours it actually worked, but holy crap its easy to break. (It has the worst connector I ever had the displeasure of using)
