Some have done it with 2 lengths reverse twisted together for a higher ohm/ft for VV mods that cant handle higher current, but can use that at higher voltage.

Holy smokes, just spent 2 hrs reading that thread... Ribbon wire on order... Just to tinker, looks like a bit of a PITA at first, however, you can't argue with the results, after all flavor IS what it's about (for me anyway) I'm not much of a showboater (cloud chaser)... lol. Although I did go on the "Showboat Branson Belle" during a visit there... lol.

I found that eye loupe really helps, so you can see what the coils look like.
