A sneak peek at the future of vaping  , or just another failure in the works?
Geez, I wish that woman would let me get a lathe, there's parts from 4 atties there

Hey gang!

I'm on a mission now… a little behind the curve but thats because i was ahead before i was behind

Has anyone here tried the Origen V2dripper b/f yet?

I scoffed at the idea at first hearing because it comes with a drip well (V1) but now I see that because the dude makes a b/f mod (dna) he is into this, and he reduced some of the atomizer (i'm sure you know more than me) and the feeding comes above the juice well…
so you get the freaking amazingest dual coil atomizer with the drip wells that doesn't run out… = b/f Origen.

on a DIBI its a natural over the top combo

i'm damn sure.

so… where are they? since the first runs have mostly sold out?

except for that one shop that adds about 30 bucks to everything…

Here's a sneak peak. Took a few hours for me to set it up. Nothing like Mundy's latest venture but it definitely puts out nice tasty clouds. I spent the extra 30 bucks to bypass the wait. So far I think it was worth it. More tomorrow when I have more time to put up more picks.

isn't that SeaNap's avatar?

Anyway - HRH got so annoyed at my vaping gear taking over the entire house that she made me buy a 6 drawer chest of drawers (she liked the pine - so there we are) and she put it together, cos i am idle. That, along with 2 desk caddies from Red Sky Mods to hold all my Reos and everything but my biggest mods and my desk looks almost clear.

I say almost, since as long as i can fit a beer and a dinner plate on it i'm fine!

At work i talk to myself and when asked why i tell them, 'because how else am i going to hear an English accent talking sense and swearing properly'.

T

So you need a high boy just to store all your vape gear?... oah boy... good thing my "HRH" didn't see this... and fortunately for me... to her, it all looks the same (vape gear). So I can get some newfangled atty or mod and it takes her days to pick up on it (if she ever does :) ) lol. Generally it's the mods that she picks up on... Took her 4 days to notice the awesome pdib modded REO that I picked up while waiting for my OliveR... Which I suspect she will detect virtually instantly, because of it's intense beauty... and the halo like glow that I'm sure it will have, once in hand... lol.

Hmmmmmm . . .. if I'd repeated this pattern a few more times (of fabricating OliveRs in runs of ten), I'd have a more precise answer. I can say at least a week out still. I'm just wrapping up the final/finish shaping with caps and bodies united. So, by end of day, the bodies will be awaiting finish. I still have internal organs to fabricate and install. I'm gonna say a week. (And you're going to take that to mean a little more than a week. But I'm ever hopeful, and will continue to think "a week".)

Thanks for these. So many questions...
Any reason you went single versus dual coil? (curious about flavor/performance single v. dual given the overall chamber size)

How's the squonking action?

Does it drain well, or at all? (still unclear to me based on the well and juice path)

How do you swap the stock pin for the BF one? (I thought it would just unscrew, but seemed harder to do than I expected so I gave up for fear of stripping something)

Got mine last week and the only mod I could use it with is an old Natural I still have lying around. Set it up with dual coils, twisted 30g Nichrome. Came out to about .5Ω, produced some very nice clouds but seriously lacked in the flavor department. Tried all the different air flow options but didn't get any real flavor improvement. This was a real bummer since I've read nothing but glowing reviews about the flavor this thing is supposed to produce. Could it be that I'm just spoiled by my RM2's? So far I've not found anything that tastes nearly as good. I'm open to suggestions and would like to get this sorted before OliveR gets here.

Hi Hildi, I'll try to answer all your questions mmmmkay?

1. How's the squonking action? - should be no different than a REO which I assume you're currently using? The dibi squonk hole is located up front so it's more ergonomic as your pinky or ring finger falls naturally in place when you wrap your hand around it.

2. Does it drain well, or at all? (still unclear to me based on the well and juice path) - If you're referring to the stock origen, then no. I don't know if X-pup has modded his for bottom-feeding, so maybe he can chime in on this. If you've been spoiled with an RM2 then I suggest just use it on the Dibi

3.How do you swap the stock pin for the BF one? (I thought it would just unscrew, but seemed harder to do than I expected so I gave up for fear of stripping something). X-puppy can answer this

OK, so here's more detail.

My 007 was a little weak yesterday. So when I got home I started cleaning and maintenance on the fire button since I'd already ruled out everything else. I hadn't done it in a while and there was some serious ring around the collar in the button bore of the top cap. Cleaned out the button and it was still a little weak, but much better. Then, just before I put it together one last time, I checked the battery..... damn I was getting a pretty good vape at 3.2V.

Had to get that all worked out before setting up my new Origin V2. So, here's the setup. Dual 12/13 wrap 26g Nichrome 80 on 1/16th DZ jig nice and tight. Then I ran out of time before going to work. Before going to work I was thinking I was going to go with cotton for the wick. Not being sure how it was going to squonk or how many vapes I was going to get between squonks, I decided to go with ceramic - XC-116. Problem was I already had my coils wrapped and burned in. I read about the straw trick but that wasn't going to work on something this small. What worked was making a small cone out of scotch tape inverted sticky side out on pointed tweezers. Then cut the tip of the cone to a size just big enough to let the wick through and twist it down through the coils. Took a little patience but worked like a charm. The SC-116 is a perfect fit for a 1/16 ID coil.

The bottom feed pin mod wasn't to tough. I used a combination of a screwdriver to twist the pin while applying downward pressure on the base over a wadded up shop rag to prevent damage to the original pin. Once the pin was sticking out the bottom I was able to remove it fairly easy with toothless needle-nose pliers.

It squonks better than I thought it would considering I could barely see the squonk hole just above the juice well. The bottom nut for the BF pin mod has notches in it to allow juice flow, so even though you can’t see the hole, it works great. First squonk took about 3ml.

I put the caps on with the biggest holes setup for dual mode……….. YUMMY! Bit fat chewy tasty clouds. While taste is subjective I have to say with this particular setup Its a couple steps up from the dual Cyclone in flavor and vapor production. That's my take anyway.

I get about 10 lung hits before I start to loose flavor and then I can tip it side to side and get a couple more. It takes a good 10 second squonk to fill it back up again.

I hope nobody got that big mess I almost posted. I was wondering what was wrong with the site. Cut/Pasted all my notes by mistake.:facepalm::facepalm::blush:

Questions were specifically about the Origen, but thanks for the effort.

thats 2 reviews…

in my experience - if you know me, i don't do scientific anything…. i aim for 0.45 ohms and most times it complies.

Best flavor "of any dual coil" sub ohms that i've tried…
up to now the Kraken geni was the only other dualie that was "good" flavor for me.
Tried a few other dualies… and flavor was diminished while huge clouds all around.
- one of those was the Cyclone b/f w/afc, so YMMV :)

I love my Origen V1 but I do get slightly better flavor from my single coil drippers (3 or 4 Art of Exhale drippers)… exception: the Igo L, can't get that puppy to amaze me (stock air hole).
I use the Origen like i would if i smoked a fine cigar… its powerful and satisfying when i want to be overwhelmed, indulged, with both huge vapor, and "good" flavor (not the "best" flavor)

Edit: i just topped my OrigenV1 with my favorite juice (over another somewhat compatible juice)… and …. bingo… yep "GOOD" flavor :) Im happy! :) and i can hardly see my computer screen…
