So seeing as how "someone" is posting pics of his new mod, I think it's safe for me to play along. Yes, it is Lacewood.

Now that's nice, if I was to get another one I'd want it to be just like that :D

Well, considering many of us already here pretty much believe that once you complete the review, Pdib will be busier than a one legged man in a AYuss kicking contest with all the new folks jumping on the list... You should just jump in for a few more before you post the review :D

I did, I'm on the list a second time, and I haven't even gotten my first one yet :p

I'll have to look into eucalyptus. Is it burl? (sure looks like it). Is it stabilized (not, too big)

Acutally, our friend M.Far. knows a thing or two. He might chime in.

Yes, it's burl, no, not stabilized

So, Red Mallee is a type of eucalyptus. It refers to the design of the rings within the burl and the color.

VH. Don't buy a bunch of Mallee until we know if it will work. Sh_t is hard as glass, and all full of cracks. (might work . . .. no clue . . . . might kill my tools . . . . )

Is there a way it could be tested out? Hmmmm.....are there questions I could ask of Rob at Bad Dog before committing? I've got plenty of time....my next run will come up sometime next year. Unless P gets minions......

So, got my dibi set up today. here's some pics

photo(1).jpgphoto(2).jpg

As can be seen, I have the perfect trippy tip for it. the color matches exactly. the closeups color isn't true cause the backgrounds showing through (hey, I'm rappin'!). all I need is a black atty. the ones I have are already committed to other mods. i like things to match.

So now that I've read over the instructions provided, I am getting a better sense of what ya'll have been talking about with the set ups. As can be seen, I still vape the old fashioned way. I have to keep my pinky on the bottom when I hit the power button or the bottom pops open. I suppose I could but the permanent screw in, but I'm thinking I might need to kick it. I might need mo' powa! Can these be kicked? I have a flat top battery in it right now.

P, the deeper well is working out fine. anything can be flooded after all, but one or two squonks seems to fill the atty no problem.

I have a feeling I'm going to be spending a lot of time with this mod!

A carto on an OliveR? Perish the thought! You are now officially a damsel in distressing need of a BF RBA. :D

I have to keep my pinky on the bottom when I hit the power button or the bottom pops open.
Although I find that the natural way to hold my OliveR when firing it and do so all the time without thinking about it ("muscle memory"), I just made a conscious effort to fire it without holding doing that (which actually felt a bit awkward) and the bottom did not pop out. If you think about it, there's nothing producing force on the bottom plate until the firing pin touches the battery. Applying more pressure than that shouldn't be necessary.

I suppose I could but the permanent screw in, but I'm thinking I might need to kick it. I might need mo' powa! Can these be kicked? I have a flat top battery in it right now.
Not easily. A Kick needs a connection to ground, which it normally gets from its spring pins contacting the conductive tube that the battery is in. But wood isn't conductive. That doesn't mean it can't be done, but I think the real solution is.. To replace that bleeping carto with a a BF RBA and put a coil in it that draws an appropriate amount of power. ;)
