R41 will also turn back into whatever shape it wants when you heat it up if you don't torch, quench, torch, quench a couple times while it is on the mandrel and a again with tweezers. You can make the most perfect, prettiest coil and secure it in the atty. Dry fire it and it goes to whatever shape it wanted to and ends up lookin like a 3yr old wrapped it. The good part is it lasts for weeks  if not months. I could prob re-coil an atty 3 times with kanthal before I can finish one with R41. Oh and it really likes puncturing your skin 8-o I look at it like this, I'm dating Rene and sometimes we fight. I lose most of the time, but when times are good they are goooood! :p

Yep. Wood should be stiff. Wire, not so much.
I have to disagree.
Wood would be hard/good, soft/not so good.

Now to get back on topic....sort of.
What would be a good atty for one of Peter's mods bearing in mind that it needs to be dummy proof?
I know a guy getting one of the mods and he is really dumb about this kind of stuff.

A Nuppin Atty, but they're pretty rare -- like only one exists in the entire world right now and I think it's enroute somewhere between Baghdad and Seatle at the moment?

Cyclone BF. A bit pricey but worth it (IMO). All stainless steel, unbelievable flavor due to the ittty bitty chamber, and easy on the eyes. To me, it looks like it BELONGS on a dibi. Indy Vapor Shop has 'em in stock. (However, I'm not sure they're an ECF approved vendor so I'm not gonna post a link).

For a good bit less money, an unmilled ("LP") RM2 from REOs Mods. It's plated brass. Rob also recently started doing BF conversions on a number of other atties, and I think he's got IGO BFs too.. (Yep -- and added links).

just ordered 16', Grade 1 Ti, 24g, .44Ω/inch. Should make for a nice dual coil setup on the "Nuppin" Atty at about .5Ω net. :D

One last off topic question. Where'd you order? Can't seem to find this. Want to try some out.

The fact that I know exactly where you bought this frightens me immensely.

let's find out why Kataphraktos is immensely frightened, and then I'll share the source, which is a random google source.

yeah, the word gallium was in there.

caution to the wind, and whatnot

A gallium scan is a test to look for swelling (inflammation), infection, or cancer in the body. It uses a radioactive material called gallium and is a type of nuclear medicine exam.

Gallium melts at about 85 degrees. Had a gallium scan last year before they diagnosed my cancer. The guy comes at me in full hazmat suit, and a big steel syringe.
