Only because the Internets are a large, cavernous place, made of of petabytes of acres of virtual real estate, and accosting someone twice in two somewhat unrelated places just makes it feel a bit NSA. My tin foil hat may require repairs.

that's what I thought . . . a little ..... in the virtual kataphraktoi, hey?

A gallium scan is a test to look for swelling (inflammation), infection, or cancer in the body. It uses a radioactive material called gallium and is a type of nuclear medicine exam.

Gallium melts at about 85 degrees. Had a gallium scan last year before they diagnosed my cancer. The guy comes at me in full hazmat suit, and a big steel syringe.

Sooooo....does the Ti wire have Gallium in it? Cause we definitely go over 85 degrees...

Aluminium oxidizes at room temperature, doesn't it? Go lift up the hood of your car and look at the aluminum pieces. They'll all get this white powdery stuff on them (alumina... Aka sapphire). Maybe it's chemical in nature rather than heat driven, you know, electronegativities and Gibbs free energy and what not, combining with the oxygen in water maybe, but it happens nevertheless. Googling "aluminum corrosion resistance" pops up a few interesting articles. Looks like it's not heat but water and other chemicals that combine with aluminum and promote alumina formation.

Aluminum alloys differ according to use ( everyone knows this, but it's worth stating ). Because of this, these different types of AL alloys corrode at different rates.

The specific alloy we're concerned with is FeCrAl - Kanthal A1
which does not oxidize at room temp. If this were true then all our rolls of kanthal will be covered in white powder. Kanthal oxidizes at very high temps, and it will take hours for this oxidation to build up and not a few seconds of pulsing.

I'm not quite convinced there's enough heat to form an electrical insulator formed around the coil. But even if it were true, someone has yet to present evidence of residual alumina flaking off on coil builds.

... sooo I need some honest answers, ok?

How much are you guys willing to pay for a brass sleeve? ( I know people call it "copper" but I want to be clear that a true copper sleeve will be too soft ).

Would you guys like the brass sleeve included or as a separate option?

Would you guys like a delrin drip tip included?

I really like hearing all you suggestions and recommendations bec. I would like us to have something we can truly call our own. Please bear in mind though, that when something goes into production, It simply isn't feasible to make something if only a few people are interested in it. So if you all want a "copper" sleeve then comment and LIKE THIS POST:toast:

I would be interested in a "copper" sleeve as an option and would probably be willing to pay $10-15 for it. Delrin tip is, IMO, a must.

Hope this helps.

comment-------->I like.:) But as a separate option. Delrin tip would be welcomed cause that's all I use.

I'm a big fan of "all options included" whether I use them or not. Nothing worse than later down the road you want that one option and its not available for whatever reason. Either way though, included or as an add on option. Price for a sleeve? Hmmm maybe like $15? That's a tough one because what I want to pay and what it usually costs are grossly different lol

Delrin drip tip YES!

Brass sleeve is nice for $15 or so. Delrin tip is GREAT and should definitely be included imho.

I think it should be an option, same with the tip as I don't like them and would swap it out as soon as I got it. I like tight draws. ;)

I've given my suggestion on the Delrin DT via PM. Could even go with a copper/naval brass/SS sheath over the Delrin!

I'd like to see the copper/brass or (guessing here on stock sleeve) SS as options for when you purchase the whole atty, and the copper/brass/SS sleeve as a stand alone extra item for those that decide to get it later. If the aforementioned $10-$15 is reasonable, I'd go with that for additional option price as an individual sleeve.
