hmmmm, gold plate the copper grounding strip, then a gold button with a gold cyclone.... sounds like a plan!

Now if you gold plate the copper, to the same shade as the gold (because plating isn't all the same color gold), that would look really neat:).

I wish that site would test some of the newer batteries. The think I like about the AW IMR 1600s is they hold a higher voltage longer when you're pulling above about 4amps than any of the others I've looked at. So while some of the new ones might hold 3.7 longer I fear they drop from 4.2 faster and then hold the lower voltage longer.

My thoughts exactly, I really want a gold Cyclone AFC. Here's a link to a cyclone w/ the gold AFC.

I have two silver RM2's, but the unmilled brass RM2 would also look good.

Woah, first time I've seen that site. And I agree with the brass.

But neither of these seem to be the BF version. Should I try to drill it out? I am handy with a Dremel, but don't have a drill press.

Well, I do have a Dremel press in box, but haven't opened it yet.

Don't forget, GG, we don't all have those beautiful violet/blue woods you ordered. I'm in line for a natural wood, which I think would look very good with gold or brass. What do you think?

I do defer creative decisions to the creative types like GG and pdib - and my GF, the kitchen genious.

And this is why mechs will eventually be regarded as quaint relics -- you can get way more useable capacity out of a regulated mod. I know, I know, 30 watts still isn't enough for some people. But for me, it's more than enough. :D

Drilling SS takes a while. I got a BF Cyclone and the slot was nice and centered on the center pin. I dulled 5 bits just drilling a lower drain hole, I cannot image how many I'd go through drilling the whole pin. I also got TF version and the slot was not centered, which made it painful to take out and drill.

I did dremel a grove in my Patriot center pin and that worked great.

I first looked into mechanical's because I was tired of replacing regulated mods that just quit working. My mechanicals will last for years and years.

I've been getting some practice drilling ~3/4 inch lengths of SS lately :p

It's all about getting the feel for it, how hard to push, how far to go in one bite (how often to clear the bit), how liberal to be with the cutting fluid (← a must, IMHO) . .. .obviously slow, slow speed on the rpms. Yesterday I got 5 brass and 6 SS screws (3/4") bored clean through (lengthwise) with 1 1/2 drill bits. (finished off a half dull bit on the brass, and didn't switch to a new bit until after 2 of the stainless)

Hey, I'm vaping tonight on an EA mod, as mech as it gets. Just brass to battery to brass to atomizer. The only spring is on the side fire button and if it manages to fail, it means constant fire by gravity. Totally solid mechanical. But then, I haven't ventured into SLR yet (don't have appropriate batteries yet). At 0.9 to 1.2Ω it really satisfies. I will probably try it below .9Ω once I get the right batteries.

Quaint relic? I do get that, since (at this time) I prefer VV, but IF the vapeacolipse happens, these will run forever.

I asked Viscous Ant. They don't make the gold in BF.

Agreed. But in case of Vapocalypse, I'm more worried about juice than anything else. Having done my share of power supply design a couple of decades ago, I'm confident I could come up with some source of regulated DC to vape from. The only question is how portable it would be. All that said, I'd happily pay $100 more for a DNA-30 powered Dibi..

Oh and Monkey takes tobacco and extracts the nic from it - it is called NEMP (naturally extracted monkey poo). Since the FDA does not have the power to ban tobacco, i think we have little to worry about.

As for banning my mod because it was not on the market in 2007 - good luck with that! Too many have been sold in the intervening time and if you think i am going to turn my mods in voluntarily, you're delusional! So better ban batteries and wire and altoids boxes and cotton wool.

Not happening.

Yeah, so I'm moving up the list with the MADRONA mod. (one, which I must confess, is actually one of my two favorites) I'm almost getting tired of PMing people one at a time, waiting for a response, checking to see who's next. (it's already been, like 2 people, or three even)

Ugh, how many others panicked and went to check their msgs when they saw this. Im in run 4. Still had to look.

snt from a lirtle phond using ny stibby fungers.

In certain other circles, there's an ancient Greek expression often used to taunt those with such delusions:

Molon Labe!

Translated to American English, that means:

You can have my vape when you pry it from my cold, dead fingers!
