OK, so now I have to update spell check again. But on a more serious note:

So, pdib, out of respect for you I'm not calling it anything else until you name if for keeps. (what-the-heck-ever you want to call this flingin-flangin thing you dun made)

All I know is I have this beautiful custom made canary wood mod. I call mine 007 for short. I call it Lucky #7 because I know I'm damn lucky to have one of these mods this early in the game, especially from the original beta run.

I'm sitting here subΩ vaping it right now and I'm still giddy. This thing really is a beautiful work of art that just happens to hit like a train.

Thank you pdib!

This right here ^ says it all, X-pup! I can hardly find words to describe the joy I get from these pdib creations. I refer to mine as the "green-eyed lady twins" (stabilized buckeye burl)....cut from the same cloth yet distinct....behold pdib #s 4 and 5!

I was looking at the Cyclone also... and it looks great, I love the styling, and it looks like good metal.

But I'm a cheapskate, AND a qualify freak. I am always willing to pay more for a higher quality product. Always. I love quality.

But I'll never pay more for the same quality product that's just more money. I'm pretty convinced mine's as good as stainless gets, which is the only thing that matters to me in an atomizer only 15mm across with 2 posts in the same spot as the other one. It may not have the full polish the cyclone has, but I plan on using it, not putting it in a showcase, so I don't care about the shiny polish, it won't last for me anyway.

Less than $10 vs $70 for the same quality in a just as cute design, and I'd rather have the cheaper one every time:)
(most under $10 atty are crap anodized or plated... not solid stainless).

I love my pricey cyclone(s). It is easy on the eyes and delivers great flavor and vapor. However, I can say the same thing about my BF modded $.4.95 ERA clone dripper but I know it has brass components and won't last forever but hell, at $5 a pop for every 6mo or so.....I'm happy. I can say the same for the IGO-S at double the price. The only thing the cyclone has over these two is aesthetics....and all SS,, I suppose. I guess my point is....I hear ya, glassgal.

So the atty now becomes more exclusive than the mod? Are these <$10 atties not generally available, or are you looking toward Sir Dib-a-Lot. for the blessing? I am confused.

me too... this feels "different" from what i'm accustomed to...

glassgal has some connections in manufacturing. It's a wholesale batch price with a minimum purchase quantity. Consider it to be a distant cousin of the "co-op", only with a pit-stop in Santa's workshop for bf modification. That's why you can't just order one from wherever she ordered one from. The price will be determined, in large part, an how easy/hard they are to modify. I haven't seen one yet, so I'm clueless.

I'll post some of the "green-eyed ladies" in their natural habitat when I get back home later this week.

Looking forward to seeing yours, SFM.

Thanks Tree that would be cool as well, but I was talking about the official "group 1" that pdib is working on now, not the "beta testers" (super lucky so and so's).

I am told I'm in "group 2" which will be starting at the end of the month or early February. I think "group 1" is where Mundy is in (if that was actually his wood WAY back in post #7 and #14).

Seriously, tho . . . . .. I'm doing the final shaping today, and tomorrow a.m. Magnets are all in, topcap assemblies are all done. They are starting to look like what they are destined to be. By tomorrow afternoon, I should be into finish/detail sanding . . . .. then comes finishing, and final assembly (you know, buttons, contact screws etc.) So, we're getting there, Kids!

so, even the top-feeder version is brand-spanking-new on the market? that would splain why we can't even read about it.

I have an era clone that a fellow vaper sent me when they first came out. I too was impressed with it.

Looked just like a genuine ERA. But it wasn't modded for BF. It was just a dripper. And yes, it was like $9 for him.

So I put it into the drawer.

Then I remembered I had it when I got my cyclones. I was overjoyed, now I would have a similar base to put on my cartotometer to measure resistance and still leave my cyclone base on my mod. That's how I roll.

Here's a picture of it:
boy7K7W.jpg

A sharp eye will realize that that's not it. That's a RM2 that costs 5 times as much and it's not even a high quality RBA. Vapes great but medium low quality.

Why? Cause I could not get a stable Rsistance reading from the ERA clone - it was all over the board.

That tells me that something is loose / not insulated properly.

So it's back in the drawer.

Scrutinizing one and the cyclone and you will quickly realize there is allot more than shine that separates the two. There is a world of difference between them. The post holes on mine are offset (crooked) the cheap insulator is right near deck level (it'll melt )

Not to mention the deck on the cyclone is concave.

If we were in, say, the vmod thread I would understand debating the merits slapping $9 RBAs on a mod.

But were not and unless you have owned some high quality RBAs you may not understand that the $20 knockoffs are usually nowhere near the same quality.

So just a little buyer beware there and remember that were talking about probably the most important component of the setup when it comes to a a kick AYuss vape.

Again if this were a year ago or a much lesser mod thread I'd understand.

Oh, this one even came with a drip tip. Looks cool right?

Aha! But the idea here is not to provide something that's appealing to you, Supe. Nor to compete with $45, $60 & $100 atties. The whole idea here was to be able to provide something simple and decent for folks who have no bf atties, can't modify their own, and don't really know where to start without taking blind stabs at $50 atties. As we all know, the atties manufactured in China can often be super cheap, or they can be pretty nice. Turns out the same factory often makes all the versions; and quality of materials and manufacture is determined by the person ordering the merchandise. These look like those; but they are 303 stainless steel . . .. so they aren't those. We shall see, we shall see.

No idea on how awesome or sucky this will be, but I like the shape of it (looks kinda purdy), and it's about as cheap as it gets. Also seems like it might could provide some interesting build options. Maybe try one and test it out?

OK quick update on the BT801-3. This isn't going to pertain to how well it would do modded to bottom feed, but just how it performs as an atty.

1) It's cheap. Really cheap. $3.99 + $2.42 shipping = $5.95.
2) It's cute!
3) I dislike the pos post being a thumb screw. I also dislike the neg screw-capture - just not that into wrapping the end of the wire around a screw and then tightening it down. I prefer a hole through a post and a screw to tighten down on top. To me that's just more efficient. When you wrap and tighten, it's not rare for the tightening process to squeeze the wire right out. Unless you are holding the other end very tightly as you tighten, which is a pain.
4) The stock air hole is way too small. That's not a problem, but even when I drilled it out to a reasonable size, it still sucked because... it's too low! It's completely misplaced. Lines up with the base/deck, not the coil. Need to drill a whole new hole above it, which would result in two holes on the same side. Not the end of the world, but not that "pretty."
5) Vapes just fine, but nothing to write home about.

Anyways Pdibi my friend, let me now if you want to play with it. I'll stick it in the mail to ya.
