Understood - but with an atty such as the RM2, the juice never sits on metal, correct?

I don't know anything about the RM2... decorations are never a problem (unless you suck on them a lot). The problem would be if there's a break in the plating somewhere (drilling would do this...), and THEN PG and VG (which are really efficient liquid solvents and extractors) sits on that exposed copper or zinc dissolving the metals into solution.

If copper or zinc are not exposed to pg/vg that you plan to inhale, there shouldn't be a problem. Copper and zinc are used in nearly everything, they aren't scary. They are only scary in excess, taken internally. But soaking e-juice inside an atomizer with exposed copper and zinc, then vaping it into the lungs is taking it internally.

There's only 2 things I worry about, That's plated atomizers which can damage over time, and plastic/poly tanks which can be melted by certain juices. I solve that problem by having mostly glass and stainless atomizers. But I do still have some poly tanks and some plated atomizers. I just don't use those all the time. I still like looking at them, and I don't mind having them. Oh... 3 things, I don't like silicone wicks either... but I've used them in the past, and may use them again. It's like anything else, minimizing risk, not eliminating it.

And like someone else said, I smoked for a very long time, my lungs are probably black, and NOTHING in vaping could be as dangerous as what I had already done to myself over time (well, cept for vaping copper, silicone, plastic directly - which you are not doing even with these elements in your tank). So long as everyone's aware of the risk, it's your life, your lungs, your choices:). I only brought it up because it didn't seem certain that everyone was aware of the risks they were taking.

Oh wait, there's a 4th thing, I am concerned about additives and potential chemicals in flavor concentrates. But for the most part, food safe is OK, and there, nothing in food safe flavors can rival the risks in the 400+ chemicals in cigarettes.

HRH is my wife a.k.a. Smurf! She quit when i did and now occasionally peers over my shoulder to ooh and ahh over things i like on here. She has (almost) as many mods as i do and since i recoil them all, i usually get bombed with atomisers on a Sunday.

She has grovelled her way to some gear from Dibby in the past - the combination lock button top for example. She makes exceptional apple pie.

I wouldn't put pg or vg in naked brass, plated brass is ok, so long as the plating isn't damaged. If it IS damaged, both copper and zinc can be dangerous. I'd just stay away from plated atomizers (decorative elements don't matter, it's juice steeping over time directly on brass/copper/zinc that's bad).

I mean it's not like you'd notice alzheimer's and testicular cancer within a few months, but why take that chance for 10-20 years down the road if you don't have to. Especially when stainless steel atomizers aren't hard to find.

Y U SO going on about testicular cancer? Seems like that one would be a walk in the park. Dr. takes a quick swipe at the lo hanging fruit and it's an early lunch, no?

i think i got what HRH is! after week what?

HER royal highness…. bingo?

after my almost 4 years vaping, her highness mine early on forsook the electronics and is still rolling her own

My husband does the same... he coughs when he vapes. It has to do with the size of his inhalation of smoke, and that's a habit that's really hard for him to break. He is cutting back tho because of vaping, and that's a good thing:).

Uh... I'm not sure what doctors do to figure out whether your fruits are healthy or not... I just thought that would be the most sit up and take note example for most guys, who don't care about alzheimer ("my woman's problem"), heart disease ("best way to go, quick and easy"), brain damage ("got that anyway..."), lung problems ("hey, I used to smoke...").

Rotting fruit hanging on the tree seems more problematic...

so, only 400 dangerous ones then, and you're worrying about a bit of copper? Anyway, my mind wandered to silicone and things....like i could use it for replacement balls and then i could make them huge!

I see 14 Triangles, but they are all RM2s now.

Because of the brain damage combined with the Alzheimer, I tend to forget about the fruit until they get kicked. But as long as the tree is upright until my heart attack nothing else is of real concern.

i thought they just made you look the other way and cough. I find my doctor seems to spend so much time trying to creep around the back of me these days i have forgotten what his face looks like.

Thanks to a typo on the hospital discharge papers i am allowed two bears a night, which is obviously difficult since i live in Texas.

Oh, i drilled out one of my RM2s yesterday to 1/16" and it's still too tough, so today it got rasped to 5/64" Now we're talking. Getting all the components in place for that Dibi.

LOL! It's ironic, I guess I'm more aware of these risks because of my chosen favorite things... see, glass IS silicone... that is, silicone dioxide (SiO2) is the primary component of glass. Copper is found in many of my favorite rocks, all my favorite blue/green ones (malachite, chrysocolla, shattuckite) and also glass colorants, and melted plastics I deal with in bottling my essential oils (all in glass). I guess I'm just naturally attracted to all the elements found in vaping already... with the identical risks.

For people just vaping, the hazards are probably very minimal, and certainly less than smoking. But given the choice between hazardous and nonhazardous, I'd have to have a compelling reason to choose the hazardous... appearance and functionality would be good reasons. But it's rare to NOT have the option in a safer material, for a minimal increase in cost, so why pick the more unhealthy choice?

And yes, air can kill us, does that mean I want to go snort melting plastic or buy a house near a garbage dump? People do it, but why choose it if you don't have to?

Back to Dibi's, sorry for all the distractions!!! (can't help it, I think I have terrible ADHD or something)

Can someone post the actual dimensions of the Dibi (height, width, thickness)?

Does the Dibi change sizes according to the battery type? In other words, pdib, are you custom making/sizing each one, or are you making standard sizes for everyone, with a slight change internally to accomodate batteries? If so, can we pick our heights within a range, I figure the top and bottom plates are templated, so cannot/should not change?

Also, can someone post some links for best mech mod information overall? I know it's all over the forum, but that's a lot of extraneous stuff to read, and not all of it useful info...

Do you currently own a mech? If not, ohms law, battery safety, and proper cleaning and care for contacts are all things you need to read up on.
