I got this email this morning. What do y'all think?

I think we can repeal the FDA deeming regs and replace with Johnson-Hunter legislation in the next 60 days—Mark Block, Electronic vaping Coalition of America

Trump Card
FDA Deeming Regs On Chopping Block

With a stroke of the pen President Trump could take vaping out of tobacco and do away with the onerous FDA deeming regulations. Yes, repeal is that easy but replacing the regulations could be much harder—a winning vote is needed in both houses of Congress.

After fighting the Obama era FDA with little to no effect, fortunes may be turning in favor of the U.S. vaping industry as President Trump begins to make-good on his campaign promise to repeal onerous regulations.

Standing ready with new legislation to replace the deeming regs is Sen. Ron Johnson and Rep. Duncan Hunter, backstopped by a dedicated group of political operatives with connections that run directly into the White House.

Vapers in America could use a win…will they get it? Find out—only on RegWatch by RegulatorWatch.com.

Other than the most promising news we've seen, uh, promises, promises...
Yep, we have heard this kind of talk before. I just hope they will at least try to keep the promises this time. I won't hold my breath but will keep holding on to a sliver of hope for a while.

I won't pretend to know if vaping can be removed from the FSPTCA by means of executive order. They are agency guidelines, so the executive branch should have some power, but the FSPTCA is a law enacted by congress, so I'm fairly certain changes need to be enacted there. So... no idea :)

It's been rough, things were looking up, hoping tonight they still are. I think I'm back for at least a week if not permanently. I've looked in and am grateful to see things carrying on.

I apologize in advance for a lengthy post.

Only one single hit on Tineye and the tool tip describes it as a "Voltage Regulator by 95wombat" Lots of other neat pictures on that page. Not going to live link it, so remove the two spaces to fix.

Those photos were flat out cool. Thank you. :thumb:

Pretty much like all the "modders" that came before us here on this forum.
Well, came before many or most of you reading this.
:)

I've seen a fair share of those old posts and am in awe of those guys. They made what vaping is today. We are all deeply indebted to them.

Oooooooooooo, been there done that with multiple animals, don't want to do it again. But hey, very fond memories.

Proudly Signed

Ruben, thank you, thank you, thank you! :D

I, well, this is awkward. :( Let me put it this way: I don't think he gives a rat's .... about vapers but may do it as a matter of "principal," but I'd rather pay the predicted CA tax than see Meals on Wheels go under, not to mention other programs.

Even before this administration we've been on a wild ride in which there is no pull-cord to get off. All I did was finally quit smoking and then everything went to hell. I feel a zillion times better but my "smoke" no longer keeps the blood-sucking mosquitoes away. Literally.

But still though.

Woohoo!, you're posting here again! Hope you are staying clear of the blizzards, been thinking of you. Please stay safe.

Les, I looked at the CA tax thread and it's all a best guess scenario. If there is something I ought to know would you please PM me? If the thread stands as is, you can just say "yep" here. What a ridiculous situation.

David, I'll try to get the photo to you tomorrow or the next day. If I don't, hound me. Please PM me your email address, I don't know any other way to get it to you. After all the other photos here It looks like everybody will be greatly disappointed. :(

BTW, my fourth vaperversary was on the 14th. First time I've missed it. :grr: My goal, being excited wise is five years. This is the first time I haven't bought something shiny. Tonight I spent a little money we don't have at all to get some of the basics I still need for the long term. The FDA and CA royally suck. When will people get a clue?

I guess I don't understand this. I thought we were trying to get out from under being deemed a tobacco product. Isn't this what they are talking about. Do I trust them not to come up with something we are not totally happy with...of course I don't, they are politicians but I was under the impression that Sen. Johnson was actually trying to do the right thing. It must be Rep Hunter you have a problem with.

Glad to see you back! Hope things are looking up. I've noticed the lack of protection from mosquitoes too, living near the river it's a constant bother.

For the CA tax, my interpretation(and that's all it is at this point) is that due to the timing of when the law takes effect and when the BOE reviews the taxes annually we're going to have a new tax April 1st of 27(?)%, which is based on the current CA $.87 tax per pack. Then, they're going to meet in April and figure out what the new tax will be based on the new rate of $2.87 per pack, and we'll get that new rate in June. That will be a wholesale tax, so if you purchase in CA it should be included in the price already. i have no idea what their plans are for enforcement on out of state purchases.

Also, I get what you mean about the other stuff. I flop back and forth between being single issue and my general socially liberal tendencies. I support removing vaping from tobacco, but not the dismantling of the FDA or other agencies, like the EPA. Now, not all Republicans support the current administration, and I really don't believe the administration cares one way or the other about vaping, if anything we might skate by on a general dislike of regulations period.

Strange bedfellows indeed.
