If there's an interest though, I'll go ahead and buy a domain. vapingpetition (dot) com (or similar) would be easier to remember. Or do you think this would turn people off?

Actually if I understand correctly, it would be far more reaching to pay Change.org to forward the petition among the ranks they have on file....They give us the choice to put on FB and/or donate to invite from within....To buy a domain it would be available to all who can see it or visit, sure...but what quilter or woodworker enthusiast, are they going to sign....doubt it....Best to keep it in the family so to speak, reach all vaper's and those who thrive on making a cause come to fruition.

I'm a Teamster, different company. I wonder if we could get them to petition to let our delivers vape in their trucks. Right now we can't.

Speak to the union...after all they do ship much of the vaping equipment to retailers....vaper's ship union....union supports vapers.....Hey a new organized slogan!

I'm not sure, the link is unwieldy, but losing the change url kind of takes away from it. It's up to you if that's something you want to do, I appreciate it either way. sorry, not much help I know

If I bought vapingpetition(dot)com and forwarded it to https: // www. change. org/p/u-s-senate-u-s-house-of-representatives-president-of-the-united-states-reject-the-fda-s-deeming-of-vapor-products-as-tobacco-products-ae532682-770e-442b-b155-1c352c1241b6

Nothing on change.org will change - the long link still works fine... the short link just redirects to the long link (just like Lessifer's tinyurl link does).

I only thought of it because of the suggestions I've seen (and considered myself) about printing fliers and business cards - the long link is rough for print media. And I've worked in marketing for a long time - easy to remember is ALWAYS good.

I could even do it without telling you guys and you'd never know lol - I just didn't want to waste the money if nobody would use it (money is tight and my registrar charges $15 for new domains *sigh* but I've been with them for 20 years... change is hard lol)

I understood you it's like the tinyurl but branded. My statement was for both the tiny and for your idea, it loses the change "brand" in the process BUT if you named the site well, it could be just as good. Money is tight on my end too, and while I appreciate any and all efforts immensely, I don't want anyone feeling like they have to put themselves out.

Every bump here and every share of the petition let's me know you all care as much as I do

No sticky or CTA as of yet, that may materialize down the road as the regs are closer to being released, fingers crossed.

We're throwing around the idea of making the link more print friendly for a flier/card.

Imo, buying a specific domain wouldn't do a lot to generate interest, and could take a long time to get up in the rankings and be effective, anyway.

Searching "FDA" from the home page isn't very helpful but searching "vapor" gets it to the top search result FYI

Madvapes had the petition as their weekly contest. I'm not opposed to vendors doing that, I'm not sure it's a good idea as an organized part of the contest though.

The domain would be less of a marketing tool for the petition and more something that could be put on a flyer that people could remember to go home and type in.
