So you'll remember the old F5 wars at VaporArt when buying day came around. So sad that they closed down. You have a lot more than me. I have 1x Heron 1.5, 2x Heron V2's, 2x Paps V4's and a Spheriod V4. I sadly wrecked my Piccolo. But this gear is so precious to me and I'll never part with it.

Agree... but then I think everyone who ran his forum or used his gear (in 91 countries) considered his products "precious gear". Seven things you could always count on was the undying loyalty and generosity of Perseus towards his customers; his stellar customer service; the top shelf quality of every product he offered; the comradery of the folks who ran on his forum; that if you missed a day or three on the forum you were hundreds of posts behind; that most of his customers had little to no problem at all with paying his prices for this top shelf gear; and as you said the F5 battles when a monthly sale day went live. With that last one no other sale day came close to the fervor and shenanigans leading up to early July 2014 when the one time only run of 89 titanium/alu bronze PAPS TiX's being offered went live (and were sold out in minutes). I got #11 (the Euro was very strong against the USD then, so it was the most expensive mech tube mod I had ever bought @ approx $550 shipped). The TiX is right in the middle of the above picture with a By Leo ΣΟΦΙΑ RTA driven SnP tank on it.
Unfortunately the Herons, Spheroids and even the RTA driven SnP's were more for MTL than my DLH style. So I never used the Piccolo or any of them for very long. What little use some of the X's, V3's and V2.1 PAPS mods did see for awhile longer was with RDA's that did do DLH to test run new DIY's I came up with (the two Senio Dippers on a PAPS were especially useful for that duty)..

Customer service was indeed excellent. I remember when Perseus got some complaints about the Heron V2 chamber cap and so he made a new one very similar to the Heron 1.5, then shipped them all free of charge to everyone who bought a V2. I do like the V2 but not as much as the 1.5. V2 had a bit too much airflow for me but in terms of production like all VapourArt products it's a thing of beauty.

Unfortunately I have never found a tank that vapes quite like the 1.5. Some come close but there's just something about the Heron 1.5 which makes it so unique. That's why I'm so careful with mine. I'm also surprised that the gravity wicking design of the Heron's were never really reproduced. And refilling is so simple, those o-rings which hold the tank section have simply never failed on me.

One of my Herons has two different styled top cap tube bells. Too long ago now to be sure, but IIRC it is a V1 with a an additional V2 upgrade. My other 3 Herons are probably V2's. All of that gear is packed away without pictures of them, but here's a pic from VA of the part I am referring to. Can also agree the upside down Heron/Spheroid so called "aquarium filter medium" joose reservoir was an inventive idea that surprisingly wasn't pursued elsewhere. As you said it worked flawless, and it was the only tank back then that could be taken on aircraft flights that wouldn't leak when the cabin pressure changed. I have 510 bases for 3 of the Herons, bought to try them out on box/TC mods. The fly in the soup was they were still MTL tanks though. The trend then was Cellucotton for the wick, but I also tried and used ceramic RxW in a couple of mine... and it wicked perfectly. Perseus and I communicated a lot via PMing well beyond just discussing vaping. I asked him if he could rework my Herons to be DLH tanks. "Not easily", it would be better off to make new ones. But we never got around to it soon enough as I stopped trying to use a couple of them soon after I bought them and never went back to them again.

Found an old picture of my Piccolo 3.1 with a Spheroid (don't remember which ver), and one of my 7 PAPS X's with one of my Senio Drippers.

Don't want to make a big deal of it (he wouldn't want that), but 'extras' were often included in my packages from him.

Well if you ever want to chat about VapourArt gear then just send me a message. I can talk about this stuff for hours. :D

I'm also curious if you've ever come across anything that vapes like a Heron 1.5. The closest I found was Titanium Mods Ukraine Prometey III. That RTA uses filler material just like you can use with the Heron's and Spheroid. Also it's gravity fed wicking too. Sadly they don't make that version anymore.

I've ordered a Flash-e-vapor clone, it seems like it may offer a similar style of vape and at the price is worth trying out.

The Kayfun Prime with the alternative air nozzles for NET tobacco almost has a similar flavour profile as the Heron with some juice, but the standard airflow which comes as default is nothing like it.

If I'd known at the time VapourArt were going to close I would have bought more Heron 1.5's. But they stopped stocking it apart from some parts and had moved on to the V2. I got my 1.5 from a listing on another vape forum.

Out all day in hot Spanish heat and so in need of a large whisky and a vape when we got home - rig of the day ...No 3 Resin Pico topped with a Nautilus Mini with metal lattice shell running a 1.6 ohm coil at 6.8 watts.

We had a grand day - hope all yours went as well
