Here's an issue with my pit that I've run into a few times now. I screw the carto on hit it and no vape. It lights up but produces nothing. I figured out quickly what was causing this. The center o ring seems to be loose. Luckily my kit has a small Swiss army knife in it(mainly for the little tweezers when I was using carts and needed to manipulate the filler) and if I run that around the edge to push the o ring towards the center it seems to solve the problem. Just putting it out there. Don't know if anyone has run into this.

Since I am the Mod builder and the EE in the house, Susie asked me to take a look at her Pit Bull.

Here are my thoughts.

As far as batteries go…Fresh off the charger the Pit Bull measures 3.7 unloaded. A lot of single battery mods measure less that that.

The cartos that Susie received were measured at 3.5 ohms. The loaded voltage with these cartos was still a impressive, steady 3.4 volts.

Even when I “stressed” the PB with a 2.2 ohm load, it still had a loaded voltage of 3.4 volts.

I can tell you that the PB’s loaded voltage is better than almost all the other single battery fixed voltage mods out there, even the “big fat” ones.

That is why a lot of people need to run a low resistance atty or carto to get a decent hit with other batteries, because if the loaded voltage drops too much, the “hit” is diminished.

Having a higher battery voltage and a higher resistance atty or carto is better for the life of the battery and for the atty or carto.

Bill and lorikay13 were asking how many “puffs” people were getting.

The PB is a 250 mah battery. I would be happy to show all of the math for the following statements if anyone needs a good "bed time read” …lol.

On paper, the math shows that the PB will “run” for 15 minutes straight. Now, I know that no one is going to run the Pit Bull for 15 minutes straight without a break (that would be cruel and unusual punishment to the puppy), but let's use the 15 minutes and see how many puffs, in a perfect world, we should be getting from the Pit Bull.

With 4 second hits, you should get about 225 hits

With 5 seconds hits, you should get about 180 hits

With 6 seconds hits, you should get about 150 hits

The numbers I just quoted is what should happen in a perfect environment…..but looking at the “hit” rate everyone is getting, they look pretty close to the “paper” numbers. This means that the Pit Bull is a well engineered and well built e-cig, and that they are using a very high quality battery in it.

For the “looks” and “feel” of the Pit Bull, like I said before, I build box mods that are adjustable voltage and “larger” mah’s, and I would never use anything just for its looks. It first has to work (and work well), and hopefully look great too, but I can tell you that when Susie and I go out we always take the Pit Bull; one, because it works so great, and two for the “bling” factor. I think it is one of the best looking and well built e-cigs out there.

Steve thank you for the indepth review!!! And I'm happy you got a "good one" to do it with.

As I think I have already mentioned somewhere buried in this thread is the fact that Bill has identified the "thread" issue right away and will be making changes regarding it. He also is aware of an issue with the calibration on the carto filling machine and so far most if not all of the carto issues are a result of this overfilling issue.

Basemencat....you do know that inserting a sharp metal object into the battery...whatever it is your doing....is going to mean when it stops working you probably wont get a new one? The trick you are describing should be used on the center post of the cartomizer NOT the battery.......you should be able to achieve the same results.....please do not monkey with production run batteries.....if you honestly think you have a battery with a specific issue.....send it back .....please do not try and "fix" it.

If there is a QC issue, or even if you just had the bad luck to recieve a battery that is a "fluke" and doesnt work right......if you tamper with it then we have no way of knowing where the problem may have been at our end. And what your doing may not be safe either.

I just want to thank all of you guys for your excellent job of reporting the puff counts and other observations...it is greatly appreciated by everyone here...so I can say now we have enough data to go on...so...please just put the clickers away and enjoy the PB... if you notice something different than that of the original state you got it in...please PM LoriKay about it and she will pass it on to me...btw..can you guys believe I still don't even have one yet?...again...I guess our great customer service is meant for "customers" ..and since I am trying to get a free one...maybe that's the problem...hmmmm.....where is the complaints phone number...I know I wrote it down somewhere.....lol....

Nope. There is a small o ring in the center of the battery connection. Around the hole that allows air to go through and activate the vacum switch.

Yes your very correct in your observation....but lori is correct in her saying you can achieve the same result from playing with the center post on the carto....you might want to take her advice....she can be right about things once in a while :) ...lol....

heh. yeah. im not sticking anything actually into the hole in the battery(i would never risk hurting this thing lol) just running it around the rim near the threads. Like if you look at the connector, between the threads and the center post theres a small rubber washer. I will try messing with the cart instead next time if i run into this issue again. Today i havent had it happen. I always take LKs advice. If i didnt i think she may find me and kill me. lol j/k

Thank you Bill and lk for the opportunity. Can I just say I got 172 puffs today. During the week it was hard for me to keep track as I work with numbers so I kept getting it screwed up but I kept track today.

Just want to let you all know that while the hard work is over the test isn't. If you drop it and it breaks...we want to hear about it. Premature failure....we would like to hear about that to. Anything unusual or problematic...we want to know about it. And I do have you all in a nice little file so IF there is a second run beta you will be contacted if you participated in this test. Plus...I promised you a contest or reward and I will announce what that is here. It will be only for the participating beta testers and I WILL send you individual emails. I'm a little under the weather right now and really need to rest....so I'm closing the thread temporarily for the weekend. I will reopen it on Monday. Also it may take a week or so to arrange the contest....so be patient. I promise it will happen.

I know there are some unanswered questions here about switches and how they behave, and draw and all that. I AM still working on those answers for you and will post them when I have them.

Finally....just thank you. You all went way above and beyond.....gave us great feedback and behaved admirably. Enjoy your Pitbulls.

IF YOU ARE ONE OF THE PEOPLE THAT DID NOT GET YOUR PB YET FOR FINANCIAL REASONS BUT SIGNED UP FOR THE TEST>>>>>>PM ME....all is well.
