To get away from the "10 second" max try letting off the button for a split second and see if it will "reset" the 10 second max. I was doing that when I was using the ego style batteries and it worked with that. Not sure if it will work with the regulated devices you are using or not. Worth a shot though.

You cant beat a bit of fire button revving to give the wick a chance of catching up

The last two posts just provided me with an actual good reason for a mech: not being limited to that "10 second" draw. The 10-second rule was why I found the 28ga so unusable at the higher resistance I prefer; by the time it was actually making good vapor, the 10-sec rule would kick in and shut it down.

Ok, finally a mark in the PRO column for mechs, aside from "looks pretty" and "won't die like electronics do".

I do wish some of these electronic gizmos would make that "10-second rule" something you could program to suit yourself; 15 seconds would be a lot better.

If your regulated device is capable of running dual 18350s once the voltage is cranked up you can get split second warm-up times on big old 1.5 ohm 28g coils. Definitely worth trying if the slow warm-up time bugs you!

Say no more, I totally understand :). I've "cloud chased" after a good workout before and I know the feeling. It's funny you mentioned VG bothering you because I was about to suggest some pure VG. It feels smoother to me, but I know that "lung coating" feeling your talking about for sure, I just don't have asthma so it feels more like it's just "coating the nicotine throat hit" if that makes sense.

It's funny how different blends effect different people, I always thought that juice was the same no matter what, and it turns out the higher PG I was vaping was what was giving me too much throat hit, and allowing the nicotine to be absorbed too quick (it very well could've been the high nicotine I was vaping though, I went down to 6mg, and it's smooth now whatever the mg level.).

First time I tried Virgin Vapor because I wanted to try an all VG it was a light-bulb moment. The difference to me was like PG is vaping a light vodka, and VG is like vaping a milkshake, just thicker and coated the nicotine in a smooth layer. I definitely know what you mean by the smothering feeling, if I vape it too hard, you can start to feel it build up.

Well I really love throat hit; when I was using the small T3S tanks, it seems 'chasing throat hit' was my main occupation, which was why I started off vaping such a high level of PG. But it turns out that I actually *can* vape PG, even though I'm asthmatic, whereas VG is like stuffing a thick woolly blanket into my LUNGS and then trying to breathe thru it.

The only time I want softer TH, or actually, no TH at all, is when I first wake up, all the rest of the time I want SERIOUS TH, but not so serious that it catches that spot in my throat and triggers the coughing. What that has meant for me is that when I first wake, I have to vape something sweet or fruit-flavored, with no TH of its own at all but a fairly high nic level (10mg-ish), and at the lowest possible power setting -- 3.2v on the ego twist and ARO winder I generally reserve for morning use -- so there is very little heat, and even very little vapor to choke me -- I also don't inhale at all, when I first wake, but do the mouth-only hits, and gradually deepen it into my throat so I can have nose-exhales -- once I can get to that point, I can even risk a few shallow inhales almost into the lungs. I gradually turn it up till I'm at or just below 4v, at which point I switch over to my regular Virginia, which has great TH even at 6mg (though I use 9-10mg early in the day), using a kayfun on either my Sigelei, or one of my vv3's, at 6w, and then I can continue raising power till it's at 8.5w or so -- and I'm finding that with the rayon wicking, I can even go past that 8.5w point to 9w or maybe even higher, for those times when I want a bit *more* TH.

I'm just glad there is so much flexibility with vaping, to allow me to do all that to customize the vape for my own needs; as a smoker, my only option was to wait at least 30 mins after waking to have my first smoke, and even then it would bring on the 'cough-up-a-lung' session. But I had to learn almost from the start that if I want to avoid those early-morning cravings, due to low nic levels, I'd better get to vaping the minute my eyes are open -- so that by the time I'm groomed and dressed and hit the kitchen, no cravings at all. :thumb:

dude chill with the rayon we got it lol

Does it handle high temp well? My cotton is having trouble with the really low ohm builds, even pillow wick

I'm sorry I just wish someone would have told me about it before I tried alpaca fur...
You do realize you are saying shut up, but still asking about it.... Lol

Yeah its killing it I have it in 4 different attys from 0.25 ohm to 0.4ohm and they all have had at least 15ml thru them and still look great. Some have 30 ml or more.

This has had 30 plus ml thru it, it's only 0.45 ohm but you can see the first pic is days ago, and the other is right now, it looks darker but that's the color of the Custard juice, it's very wet in the pic.

Tbev is right... there's a free-for-all going on in that thread, people PIFing rayon left and right... and yes it does much better with more heat than cotton does! and gives more flavor and vapor... it's awesome stuff.. you're missing out!
