MY SONY 26650 50 AMP VT FINALLY CAME IN! Whoo! I was determined to see what it could do with my first build on the mutant, with the brass monkee, and I'm not dissapointed. I basically took my favorite build and paralleled it:

24ga parallel, dual nano-coils wrapped on a micro-screwdriver of (slightly smaller than) 1/16th"), and wicked with some fancy shmancy japanese Shiseido cotton (my girlfriend uses it for her make-up, and I'm using more than her now lol).

It's really warm, and really dense with the stock airflow, I'm thinking I'll be drilling the three air-holes into one big cyclops. I can't say I don't like it though. I've never had a build that was what I consider truly warm until this one, and it's 0.1 ohms, that's probably why (don't worry I have an extra 8 amps to go for even continuous rating, don't wanna hear it.). Double the surface area of my favorite build is nice too, I haven't had any dry hits sneak up on me, it's a really hearty and full vape, I'm really loving it, this one will stay in the chamber for a while, I'm afraid to even breathe on it it's so perfect (for what I like). (have you guys ever had those builds that you just couldn't take out for a while? you drop it on the ground and your heart skips a beat because it might be crushed?)

I don't think I've ever built such perfect parallel's before either, besides the connections, it looks like a regular'ol 8 wrap.

This build is so ......'off, had to take the pic like 1 second after firing because without airflow, it gets too hot and burns away all the juice.

Lol looks like an actual rain cloud near the top with the computer screen behind it.

I figured since I'll be messing around with a 50amp limit from now on, I'd better invest in an ohm meter. For a while now I've been so used to the VTC4 30amps, I've just been building by feel, hopefully the ohm meter is nearly here. I can't believe I'm excited about an ohm meter, no more fiddling and subtracting with a multimeter!

Cheers! :vapor:

Lol in retrospect I might have come off a little abrasive. That I apologize.

But I do just wanna point out that with all that ridiculous FDA banter going on, the sheer importance of safety has never been more critical. The absolute last thing we need is to give critics more ammunition in the form of safety concerns. So I hope we can at least all understand that pretty much every single vaper out there has a vested interest in this. And besides, an ohmmeter is a measly 20 bucks tops.

And now, back to the regularly scheduled program....

Hate to be "that guy",

But for Christ's sake. No one should be rebuilding without a proper multimeter or ohm meter.

Well, I finally joined the honorable ranks of those that have spent the trecherous $10 on an actual ohm meter :D! I'm way more excited about this than I should be. Mainly because (although I'm an expert with my fluke graphing multi.), the lead resistance seems to change no matter how clean I keep them, and that has always kept me way above where I could be. But now I have a machine that's sealed and +/-.2% accurate, so I can finally use my Gplat, and it's preeetty blue too. (haha jk, it's all about the accuracy.)

So I can safely use my 50amp to it's potential.

Love this Gplat too, you can make fairly huge coils that heat up instantly, amazing warm flavor too.

It's big and ......'off like my ex-girlfriend, but it tastes better heyo.

Gplat oxides like crazy too, this was used maybe for 6 pulls, until I thought it was taking to long to heat up. Heats up crazy fast for 22ga though!

So I've been wondering. I must start off by saying that I am both a cynic AND a cheap azz bugger.

I've read a gabillion reviews about how gplat wires are plain BS. Some of which were pretty legit and scientific. But I've also read a good number of reviews that swear by the improvements.

Can all folks who've tried gplat try to give a comparison/review that's as objective, as fluff-less as possible?

Picked up a 28.5mm Tobh.

Parallel twisted 28g kanthal double mini-micro (somewhere between a micro and a nano) @ 0.08

Oly shi these high-power builds on the big RDA REALLY kick... ...thick, full. Pops so hard with the cap off you can feel the concussion of vapor, literally. Cracks the air.

Badddaass! Twisted parallels, dope!

Sent from my Transformer TF101 using Tapatalk

I was actually surprised at how not too hot the vape is, considering that when I was heating and compressing the coils the RDA and by extension the entire mod got REALLY hot pretty quickly. Must be the larger chamber. Is very smooth and cloudable

Have been wanting to do this build for a while, but haven't had anything that would physically take that much wire.

sick build! just curious how you wrapped the coil and have them stay so perfect? I tried to wrap parallel twisted before but kept having issues with how springy they were. did you use a torch?

no torch

Twisted the wire with a drill till it broke-off at the end, so very tight. And then just lined them up, started the wrap with a loose bend that I later took out, and bent it around a large wire brad... more of a pushing/folding it around the brad with my thumb than "wrapping" as you'd do with just a regular wire (like, I wasn't holding the wire from a distance and wrapping, but instead just pushing it around and over with my thumb... twisted that tight they are very stiff). Was pretty much good-to-go from the 'off, but I did compress it a touch with some needle-noses after firing it up. Coils get so bright I actually couldn't look directly at em. Considering each is around 0.15 by itself, is understandable. :D

If you're getting springiness, I'd say your twist isn't tight enough and/or you're wrapping at too large a diameter. Was actually a very painless build; hardest part was fitting 4 strands of twisted 28 through the center post. If I do it again I may try to just roll with a single wire (well, single set of parallels) and twist the second coil on-RDA.
