Big Tobh don't need no airflow cutoff teeth! How else am I going to do my centerpost builds? This is seriously the only larger-that 1/16th" diameter coil build that I've liked in a looong time, partly because I like a low ohm vape (or a high wattage vape), and I can't get enough wraps in order to stay below about 0.2.

BUT I've been enjoying this Gplat 22ga elite lately, and this lets me build relatlively huge coils at pretty darn low ohms. (I'm being safe with a Sony VT 50amp continuous, which is actually capable of 125watt bursts, so I don't want to hear it :p).

I've been loving this build in my "mini" rda's, it's super quick to heat up, gives off huge vapor, but the best part is the larger diameter (than what I'm used to) keeps the dry hitting away completely. The thick wick going through this sub-ohm'er keeps it moist, and I can take huge fog making rips off of it, with pretty amazing flavor too.

Y'all have gotta check out this Cloud Science Alpha juice as well, it's specifically made for "cloud chasers", but I just like it because it's VG heavy, super thick, and tastes just like Mother's Milk from Suicide Bunny, strawberries and cream cloudy goodness right here.

i read on an fb vaping group (cant recall which one since i follow a few) that gplat wire has manganese in it and that it shouldnt be used. any truth or more info on this?

Dual twisted 24g Kanthal, 4-5 wrap 1/8in ID @ .15ohm

I hear I'm supposed to call it a "sleeper coil".

Rips thick and smooth. Heatup time is a little slower than that parallel twisted 28 though. Hard to pick one over the other.

Personally I have no idea, I've been vaping on it...hard, and I feel amazing. But it could be true, I wanted to know what it was myself, and I did the oh-so-scientific method of testing with my metal detector (yes lol), and I've gotten that it's basically a different nichrome blend (nickel and chromium), but my MD doesn't test for manganese so I'm not positive.

However I'm a registered nurse, and I specifically remember studying on "Manganism" which is basically something only welders who inhale micrograms of the stuff encounter, and even when they are inhaling grams and grams of manganese (through welding metals, used in bars about the size of snickers bars), it can be excreted by the liver and out through urine.

So my almost positive guess is that since I'm not even burning my gplat, it's always saturated with juice, and nowhere near combustion, that I'm basically in no harms way whatsoever. I'd have to be dry burning rolls and rolls of gplat and inhaling that burning wire to even begin to encounter manganism. But if I did, then I'd start having obvious tremors, like parkonsons disease, drastic mood swings, and even multiple sclerosis. So if I ever start having those symptoms, then I'll definitely stop vaping altogether lol.

I'm 99.999% positive that I don't have anything to worry about with Gplat, neither should anyone else, because in order for it to be harmful, it would have to be at least 70% manganese like the welding metals, and if it was, it wouldn't look anything like nichrome, it would have a white powdery coating over it. The way I vape anyway doesn't let the metal get anywhere near red hot, it's always saturated with juice, and never anywhere near a dry hit usually. I wouldn't doubt that manganese is in Gplat, just not enough to harm anybody under normal circumstances.

That's what RiP called it, so apparently it's not a continuous coil anymore lol. Nice "sleeper" though brother.

what size batteries are the 50A, are they 26650?

Yep :D, mine are Sony 26650 VT's, honestly they work just like the VTC4's but just last maybe 2 hours longer. I don't ever go above 70 amps, so really the VTC4's can do the same thing, I just like that little extra safety area. Don't have to use the "burst" rating as much if you know what I mean.

Damn. Just got 24ga in. Wowsers. Them parallel coils are no joke. Even single micros.

Yeah buddy! I used to think that thicker gauge wire was just for people who wanted to build coils easier, but it's really more surface area! I have a lonely 100ft spool of 28ga that I bought with 50 ft of 24ga one time, and I've never gone back lol. It's truly just a better vape for what I like, I still like to twist my 28ga though. Pretty soon you'll be enjoying the glory of 20ga, or even some gplat. It's all about the resistance!

Just made my first Clapton coil. It sure isn't perfect, but it was a great first try. Really love the flavor over my dual nano coils.

Nice man, I love the clapton coil for flavor like you said, but mine have always taken so long to heat up. I usually only get a good 2 hours worth of magical hits until my battery dies. I did make an awesome "mini" clapton one time though, that heated up super fast and gave great flavor.

I watched the latest pbusardo video, and he brought up that exact point. Sounds like some known dangers with using g-plat wire.

there is also manganese in kanthal, which some people have a sensitivity to, i couldnt find pbusardo's vid, it said it's no longer available, so yeah if you have a sensitivity to kanthal you shouldnt be vaping with g-plat

Um. As far as I'm aware, that's just incorrect. Brb to confirm.

ETA: yup. Temco provides access to the material composition.
