Hey there folks, it seems I have rediscovered my love of Clearomizers this week... With my Kanger Aerotank on my DNA30 and a new Nautilus BVC on its way I thought I'd try my hand at rebuilding myself a Kanger coil (as I've never done it before and never shy away from a challenge. for two reasons...
1. Flavor sucked on the stock coils. I've been vaping some delicious juices in my drippers over the last couple of months and when I went back to the Aerotank I found that the flavor was just lacking. Every juice I put in it (with clean coils I might add) tasted exactly the same. Not sure if it was the wick or the coils but it was all around bad
2. Wicking was an issue. As most of my juices are now Max VG or at the very least 75%VG : 25%PG, the tiny little silica wicks were just not able to cope with the viscosity of the juice. I tried thinning a juice out with PG and it worked better but the flavor was still not there.
So here we go, 30ga NiChrome, 10 wrap microcoil on a 1.5mm drill bit coming out to a modest 1.6ohm and wicked with Rayon and I'm in flavor heaven and with my max VG juices I get all the wicking I need (my 50:50 mix flooded a couple of times so I again topped it up with more VG... It's now almost tasteless but the VG has a nice enough flavor on its own)
Anyway, enough talking (I do ramble on a bit, don't I?) enjoy my pictures of my tiny little coil in it's tiny little home
