Man, beautiful coils but it must take what, 2-3 minutes for that thing to get up to mach 1?

That's why it's on the sig. I popped it on the 30w istick for S & G's and at full throttle, it had a 7 second ramp up time. Lol

I didn't even bother throwing it on a mech. It gets down at 60w.

Side note: The only reason it's been the flavor build as of late is I seem to have misplaced my spool of 28g and am waiting on a new spool in the mail. Haha

26 gauge kanthal a1, 6 wraps (3 per side) on 3mm bit. 1.1 ohm. Just did this on a used up head, because the one I did just prior was the same but 8 wraps, and I've been chain vaping at 25 watts on high vg juice without a dry hit. Went one wrap less per side because the 8 wrap was a bit tricky to get in :p
Sent with one hand, the other is busy vaping.

Got tired of the nickel connection issues with the lemo. Also didnt feel redoing the nickel build in my billow. So decided to go back to kanthal for now. Twisted some 26 gauge with i think 28 gauge that i had laying around. Lemo turned out to .90. Billow is .39 wicked with fiber freaks n2.

40 watts for both. No wicking issues so far.

but urgh the lemo really has issues. had to fiddle with the 510 and the AFC screw thing. it used to like start at 1.21 and then rapidly lower the ohm to the right one all the time when I pressed the fire button.

I have been using 22-28g since i began vaping 6 months ago. Finally caved in and ordered 30,32 and 34g at 100 ft. Cannot wait!!!

Picked up some needle nose finalllly. After using a cheapy set of tweezers that would bend out of shape, I feel spoiled. Also got a cheapie Black and Decker 12v 3/8 so I can wrap me some claptons. I tested it out with 22 and 28 outer but the ramp up time is painful. I can definitely see claptons being the best tho.

Question with my 4 wrap 22/28 claptons at 2.5... dual coil... the vapor production isn't all that great. There's room around the coil for air to flow and minimal cotton. What could be the issue? I'm thinking the gauge of wire.

Unless you are using that on a really high powered regulated mod, the ramp up time will be long on that build, which is why you aren't seeing great vapor production. Try using 24 or 26 gauge as the core wire, and shoot for lower ohm and that will improve

Mang, you guys are some serious coil geeks. I mean that in the nicest way. I learn a lot here, but what I really want is the best coil to work in a KFL on a Provari or mech. NOT sure these stovetops and Claptons are what will do it for me. Can we post some effective single coils on traditional setups? I'm looking for the fastest heat up and cool down cycles.

In your shoes, I'd experiment with different ID contact coils with 28g on a Kayfun. Dual coils are doable but I always got better flavor from a single coil on a Kayfun.

Just my 2 cents.

Provari or mech? What works best on one won't be the best for the other :p

A twisted wire at .8 ohms can be great on a mech in the kfl...... But I'd go with a standard 1.2 ohm macro coil on the provari, 28 gauge 6/7 wrap (depending on the diameter of what you are wrapping on)....i definitely prefer to heat and pinch those.

My current builds on the KFL are 28ga 10 wraps at 1.4 ohms around a 1.95mm nail at 4.3 volts (about 13 watts). I'd like faster cycle of heat/cool. Yeah, the mechs drive me crazy with the power band loss. I'm preferring low res atomizers on those.
