About an hour and half dedicated to this single coil build. Such dense dense dense vapor. Perfect for tricks and o's. 24g n80 claptoned with 28g n80 then flattened and mirror polished with sandpaper. Paralleled with 24g n80 flattened and polished. Sitting at . 1 ohms.
DISCLAIMER: do not attempt to do mirror builds with out a ultrasonic cleaner there is a lot of metal shavings that come off while making this build.
This build is inspired by blueeyedgoons build

Not the poster, but ultrasonic cleaners are pretty damn cheap. You can get them off of Amazon. Most of the one I've seen are made for jewelery cleaning, but they work great for vaping stuff.Where do you have access to an ultrasonic cleaner?
They're like 25 bucks off amazon, They are great for cleaning coils, attys, wire, steeping juice, my syringes, and all sorts of things. Worth every penny.Where do you have access to an ultrasonic cleaner?
Because they look cool...and because why not? It's more sanding them down so they're flat & polishing with high grit sand paper. I can't do super shiny mirrors because the highest grit I have in my house is 600A right now, but I'm going to get higher.I must have missed something. Why polish the wires?
@Tom FordeThe flavor is absolutely incredible. Especially from stitched aliens. The vape (single battery mech) has a long ramp time for me though with a 2 strand 26g core with 32g N60 wrap & 36g stitch, so I paralleled it with a single strand of 24g N80. Fixed the ramp time and still get incredible flavor. Normal 3 core aliens with 26/34&up barely have ramp time if at all, and the flavor is amazing. They're great coils.
And slip I lick my ribbons too to get them to stick together, also use a bit of tape at the end, and wrap a piece of scrap 40g spaced out around the middle so I can slide it down and take it off when as I move farther down the wire
@Darkly spectr is that a DNA 200 mod? If so which one? And how do you like the chip?
@Deap vertical ribbon! SSFC's are just annoying to build to me, but looks great for a first attempt. Try wrapping the ribbon vertically on your next shot at it
I have to build for a kanger subox for a buddy of my friend's today, and I have to make the coil a minimum of .3 ohms. I'm thinking 30g Twisted Clapton helix? Or 30/40 fused Clapton.
Problem is I don't have a subtank to test the build on and it has to be a minimum of .3 ohms. Any quick suggestions before I leave for the Jets season opener?
Edit: and Retro, send it back and tell TM you ordered the gold/black atty...I think it looks better than the 13/9 atty. always go with your first choice, don't pull the plug! The gold/black TM atty comes in a black box, not a navy one like the regular atty
Download escribe and you can plug in the heat flux curves for a lot of different wires.@Tom Forde
Yes that is a DNA 200 mod. It's called "the giganto brick". it's made by me. Loving the DNA 200 but mostly using it in stock power mode until I get some titanium in.
Why not build it straight through the posts?View attachment 491417
Scrap build!
Had some 26N80/40N80 Fused Clapton wire and a bunch of ribbon laying around so I tigered the .5mm K1 to 26AN80 and wrapped them parallel around 2.5mm at .23ohm. Thing is a flavor beast on the Petri. Its definetly nice building paralled and staged builds on the Petri with the two side by side holes.
The holes are a little to small for thicker staged builds. Also it fits a lot nice that trying to shove 2mm of wire through a 1.5mm hole. Why not build it straight through the posts?
Btw for everyone considering a phenotype-L, it's a sick atty, I was pretty up close with it yesterday, the one thing about it is that you have to build pretty big coils for it because of the way the airflow and posts are set up. Like to get from post to post is a stretch because they're pretty far spaced. I was talking with @floral_face from Instagram about his & basically the builds that work best in it are the ones that stretch from post to post. And the posts are pretty far spaced across the deck. And out of the box, the stock o-rings suck, and should be replaced with some thicker ones. But that's really the only flaw with it. Everything else about it is phenomenal.

I've thought about it, but it really doesn't have the airflow to support crazy builds. Like I found for flavor on 26/36-38 aliens it is my favorite Atty. Anything that goes more I go to the Velocity. Thanks Tom for sharing what you kno about the phen, mine are on the plane.
I suppose you cant really drill out the petri's post holes either, how about joining the post holes up to make a slit?
You can actually drill out a Petri's post holes to about 1.5mm-1.8mm if you're careful. I'm cool with the size they are, I've adapted to it and my 28g aliens fit absolutely perfectly in the post holes. I build coils specifically for it over my other atties. I gotta say though the TM Atty has won me over. It's awesome. Now I just have to go pick up my Kennedy 24 next week and I'm set on atties for a while. Thanks Tom for sharing what you kno about the phen, mine are on the plane.
