Still eagerly awaiting the fatty wire so I'm not making eye contact with my AGA right now, and it's filthy tank full of motor oil. I got a little smarter thanks to the bifinity coil in the Vision Eternity, lol.. I learned that heat resistance does not imply durability.

These sections are stiff and just broke off when I moved them.
And a couple pics of the coil with no wicks. Pretty gnarly looking, I know. I drilled the holes in the little connector pieces with a 1/16" bit by hand, the marks on them are from pliers.

About to hit my 4 year vaping anniversary this summer & I decided to take my vaping to the next & final level . I bought a AGA-T2 from Vape Doctor & some 30g kanthal & some pre-rolled & oxidized 400/500 mesh, from Ebay. I got 25ft for $4 bucks & the pre-rolled mesh was like a dollar fifty for each (I bought 4). Anyhoo, I'm expecting my vape mail sometime 2morrow & reading this thread has been awesome. I'm not a newbie, but I am a little nervous about making my own coils. At the same time I'm not interested in the easiest route, I want to know the best working wicking method to get the THICKEST vapor possible. I'm currently using the iClear 30's & my Protank which reminds me of when I used to smoke Newport Lights, when they didn't have my regulars.(smh) I honestly expected more from a $20 carto, but after starting my vape life with dripping & cotton filled caps with atomizers, I was all too happy when the original Liquinator DCT tank came out & I was content with that for quite a good while. Then came all the different cartomizers & I found myself wasting way too much money on every new carto that came out a couple of years ago & none of them were consistent or worked as advertised or the quality control sucked, so I ended up going back to my DCT tanks. I took a chance last month & purchased the iClear 30, the Vape Only BCC & the Protank. These are all descent tanks, but I still believe I can do better and I refuse to go back to DCT tanks again, not this time. I'm going all out, 4 years ago rebuildable atties cost more than the PV's/Mods, more like half my rent(lol). I want to do this right the first time around, so what's the best kind of coil to get maximum vapor & throat hit from an AGA-T2 ? How long does a homemade coil last ? Which is best for flavor, the mesh coil or silica wick ? Is it possible to do one of each, at the same time on an atomizer ?What's better for 50/50 or 40/60 e juice, 400 or 500 ss mesh ? Can the AGA-T2 be used as a dripper atomizer as well or only as a genesis ? Is there a ecig mechanic in this thread ? I have a great idea for an atomizer, but I want to make sure it can be done before I blurt it out & look silly if I'm wrong.... Okay I can't think of any other questions at the moment, but I'll be happy to post a pic of my setup as soon as I get it & figure it out...lol

Hey, Mistaree. I think you should start a thread with your questions/topic. It might get lost in this one, and it is definitely worthy of it's own. So, firstly, what device are you nestling this AGA on? VV, mechanical? Where do you like your voltage set? your resistance?
I vape 50/50 and would use 500 mesh. Silica can work in an AGA, but it won't just pull the juice up from the tank for you. With silica, you'll want to build to tip your device and aid in the fight against gravity.

@pdib I really want to put a rebuildable on my Silver Bullet but I'm willing to start out on my Vamo v2 to get the hang of it before I start making low resistance atties. And "yes" I realized after I read what I wrote (sorry so long winded) I should have made its own thread.(smile) Anyhoo, I'm looking for that mail today & it'll be my luck, if the mail person runs late today or I don't get it until 2morrow...grrr I tend to like my voltage around 4.2 - 4.4volts using 2.0 to 2.5 ohm cartos. Using wattage, I'd use it between 7.5 & 8.5 watts..... But I use high nic at 50/50 or 40/60 with 24mg ....

who is thrasher and how i can i see this video i have a evic and that same genny trying to learn how to rebuildCoil and wick I made almost a week ago, still going STRONG! Loving it...ty Thrasher!

The mechanicals are much easier to work with when setting up a Genny. You could still slap it on the vamo to check your resistance and confirm you've no drastic shorts. The time lag (firing and STOPPING firing) on the vamo is a real bear, when trying to initially adjust a coil. Try building around 1.5Ω for the Silver bullet, I think. Often, when you build a coil, say 1.5Ω, it will drop a couple of tenths in the first few minutes of use. (Another reason why VV makes it harder). So, if you land below your vamo's limits, you'll be vaping on the bullet anyway. I think you said you had 30g. In order to accomplish 2Ωs, you will have more turns of coil than you might want; which may result in a slow heat-up on each firing. Shoot for 1.5 on the mech. It'll be nice.
EDIT: I didn't check the amp limit on the wiring for the bullet's button. I'm quite certain that 1.5Ω is nowhere near the limit. (but check me)

pdib, I'm tempted to edit the op of my vape nirvana thread and strike through the entire post. Got the fat wire in today. You could hang art on the wall with 26g.. seriously.
The VAMO can't get a good read on this coil, starts off at 1.7 cold and the VAMO will fire it one then it reads 1ohm. I can't get a good reading at the connector with my dmm either but reads a steady .6ohm at the coil, neg screw head and top of the pos post. Regardless I'm blowing clouds out of my ears and the flavor is just unreal. I'm gonna try a different atty next and see if I can get a good resistance reading at the connector.

Its essentially bunny wicks, but I like a lot of wick, so this is what the outcome was.
Let's just say... I'm glad I don't live with my parents, else I might just smack my momma.
OK, I haven't put one up here in a little while . . .. . This one doesn't look like much; but its the end result of a day of experimenting, tweaking, and some serious micro-surgery. It has everything I want in a vape; flavor thru the roof, TH, power,kick, clouds, and sustained vapability (10+sec. draw) with no drop off. Wrapped it on the ↓←little cup hook, coil is 3/64" ID, 28g Kanthal and NEXskinnyTEL.
(Now, Stats, when I tell you this ↑ on the Goosebox, is an AMAZING vape, I DO mean better than the Genny with the short-tailed weasel.)
