I'm sure I'll get around to trying the squonk sooner or later. I've recently decided my next vape-budget-busting purchase will (most likely) be a SuperT ELA but I have to admit following your lead has netted some fantastic results here. The vapes I'm enjoying at the moment are quite sufficient but if you're saying the goosebox trumps it... hmm... decisions decisions.

I'm working on a dripper coil tonight, something I haven't seen before so we'll just see how it goes

I'm gonna make a new thread for it but here's a poc shot. It does work, better than I expected. Flavor is pretty great, vapor is ridiculous, no hot legs. This working example is not the way I wanted to do it either. Still trying to get the wire to do things it doesn't want to do.. more to come

SuperXDrifter and I tried those before, couldn't get them to work. Works for half a drag, but the rest of the time it tasted terrible.

Well the one pictured above is good for about 20 full drags before I have to drip some more juice in. It's working better than I expected.

Finally got my wire rope working right.

In my first attempt the coils were spaced too far apart. The top would dry out and it barely got as hot as I like. Rebuilt it with the same wraps closer together, and it's hitting like a champ!

i ran out of silica wick i am used to 3mm or multiple 2mm and i only have 34g kanthal left lol so my mech has been sitting for a few days coil less. anyway i have 28g kanthal on the way 100ft of it so i wont runn out anytime soon and 20 ft of 3mm silica coming to !!!

i pulled my AGI off my mech and set it up on my i taste mvp useing what i had around ... a 3-2 wrap of 34g kanthal around 4 strands of 1mm coton yarn for a healthy 2.5 -2-6 ohms meter bounces back and forth... running it at 5 volts and getting big vapor and decent TH but it taste like cotton i even boiled 10 feet of this stuff 2 times in fresh water before i used it. i have not used cotton before and it adds a strange earthy flavor. is there a break in time for cotton wicks before the taste goes away ? or do you guys who use cotton like that ?






when i use silica i find the heart shape works pretty good for me . any advice to get rid of the cotton taste ?

when using wicking material that imparts a flavor, less is better.

should i pull that bad lary apart and do a 4-5 wrap useing 2 strands ? i do not quite know if i like cotton yet lol ... its wicking good just taste weird.

edit ... i am using the 4-40 machine screw method to make a 4-5 wrap now gonna pull 3 strands though it and see how it works out.

I've enjoyed cotton. I might use 1 strand, 1" long, wrap on a 1/16 drill bit and crowd wraps together. 3/4 or 4/5. (I tend to use 28 & 26 gauge; but if I were stuck with what you have today . . . . .). Or maybe two wires running in parallel will put you where the 28 would have.

And what size or kind of wire are you guys using ?? It looks awful thick...
I tried to use the mesh & wire that came with my AGA-T2 & it popped twice, so I have no choice but to wait for my vape mail....

yup waiting on vape mail too. but i will have enough 28g for a million builds when it comes so ... i am stuck with a 2ft peice of 34g and no silica but i do have 500 mesh .....


here it is now 3 strands strait though a 4-40 machine screw wrap 4-3 with 34g kanthal ... vapeing it now and it taste burnt at my norm voltage for that type of setup so i cranked it way down to 3.8v (coil is 2.6 ohm) and it has flavor now and good vape but still cotton ... hmmm

should i do a drill bit wrap after this to compare ? or is it the length of cotton all together that gives it the flavor ?

wraping a 6-5 wrap on a paper clip to pull a single 1mm cotton thread though as i vape my current setup lol coil ADHD !

edit .....god i hope my vape mail get here before i go on 2 weeks of active dutie, i would love to bring my mech mod and rba's with me and make a few good genny setups in my spare time in the barracks.... lots of sitting around after 1700 and not much to do... i figure trying for a perfect coil on each one of my RBA's will eat up most of my nights for the 2 week training period and i will come home with some great working setups for my mech that has been sitting on my desk for a wile due to lack of suplies.

Yeah, just regular mesh, I think it's 400. Just one thin layer wrapped around the rope, although if I had more room in there I'd probably do 3+ wraps so that it holds more juice (the wire rope wicks fast, but holds next to no liquid).

Wire is 28g Kanthal.

I had some pops my first few times too. Still have em here and there, especially with thinner wire (32g). You gave up on only your second attempt? I can't imagine you're already out of wire.

Also, are you just holding down the button as soon as you pop a fresh coil on there? That's a sure fire way to pop a coil. Try starting with a few quick pulses to see if there are any shorts/hotspots. You can keep pulsing to work them out (as well as a little bit of adjustment with some tweezers or some such).

yeh but all i have is the wire i use for protanks on my mvp..... so i made coils comparable to that . 2.5 and up i vape the protank coils at 4.2-4.5 volts sometimes 5volts 3ohms 8+ watts

my mech i like around 1 ohm but go as high as 1.5 depending on the juice i am vapeing. 1.5' though i will use my kick and its with light almost clear e juice

i dont even think i can make a 1.5 ohm coil with 34g.... it would be like a 1 wrap lol
