The following post is the most anti-provari post I have ever made. Normally, I get into these "discussions" from just calling out the BS, but don't really criticize Provari at all. But all this "mod envy" and crap about people trying to justify their cheap chineses junk against a provari is enough that I want to make it clear.
Provari is a great device. ESPECIALLY for those who only want one device or one main device with ego back up etc. People who want to buy a main device and keep it for years with no need for another. For such people, economically, it may be the cheapest device for them over the long term. It certainly isn't anything that inspires "envy" in today's vape market. If you think it is, you are fooling yourself.
Despite my respect for what provari is, if I were to make a list of mods I want to buy, it isn't on it regardless of price. If I could pick one up for the price of a VAMO, I might. But at this point probably not. I have enough different vaping devices that I have no concerns for the reliability, ruggedness or repairability of any single device. Pretty much all my devices do what they are supposed to do and I take care of what I have.
Any new device that I buy that is going to be more than about $50 needs to be more interesting to me. Something like the Billet Box or something from Kato or that other korean mod with all the cool laser designs, a caravella or some such.
Why would I buy a provari when it just isn't that interesting, and I don't have any need for another vaping device that isn't interesting? I probably wont be buying another VAMO either, although you can get them for about $40. I definitely won't be buying an evic. I just don't see buying more boring VV/VW devices, and if I do, I won't be spending over $50 for them.
Now if provari came out with a new device that had their legendary reliablity and service along with the evic screen, upgrade ability, VW, VAMO type button controls and a more interesting body, I might get excited. But the current version? eh
