Once a feature found only on luxury cars, even Ford now offers self parking models that can parallel park themselves. Unsurprisingly, Ferrari and Lamborghini manufacturers automatically assume that people who buy their cars already know how to park, and don't offer this feature. ;)

(I wonder how much of this mentality ^ there is at ProVape).
lol not really..... the Ferrari owners know the valet kid will park it for them :D

All the defensiveness, and the hostility towards a person who's just asking a polite, simple, well-articulated, justified, and (what should be) in no way an offensive question. You've made the Provari a lot less attractive to me, just like apple-fanatics have made macbooks and iphones a lot less attractive. It's simply impossible to have any sort of level-headed conversation, and as a result I have far less trust in anything that's said about the quality and performance of the device. And, how would adding a feature take anything away from a Provari, and why should someone who happens to appreciate that feature be attacked? In fact, I've seen something very similar among mac-fanatics: a feature that the mac-device lacks is unnecessary and anyone who wants that feature is ignorant. When apple then introduces said it's all of a sudden indispensable, and apple innovative for including it. I fully expect the same thing to happen if Provari ever includes vw and/or a multiple button system. If I ever get a Provari (and I was expecting to, some day, not so sure anymore) I certainly don't want to be associated with (many of) you, and might need to disguise the device so that no one recognizes it as a Provari.

I certainly have never been defensive nor hostile towards anyone asking a question about a ProVari. I will say, though, that basing your decision on whether or not to purchase a device on anything other than the device's merits, let alone your opinion about a handful of random internet strangers' attitudes about the device, is completely illogical.

Then again, the fact that I have 5 ProVaris could be considered illogical as well. So take that for what it's worth.

If you sir depend on someone or group of someones to make something attractive or not attractive, then I would have to classify you as someone who only buys something to please a certain crowd or to perhaps fit in. No device or computer should be purchased that way.
You should be purchasing based on your needs or desires, not because people defend it or talk bad about it. Read the reviews on their website or anywhere around the web, the devices in questions are well reviewed.

Also, on a side note, I was thinking about a visit to Sweden, but thats not likely now based on the actions of one certain individual.

Have a nice day.

I love my ProVari v2 just the way it is ... I have no personal need for VW (I understand Ohm's Law, and I can calculate the necessary voltage for a given resistance to any desired wattage in my head, thanks), and while I wouldn't be upset if ProVape added this feature, I wouldn't base my future buying decisions on it. The ProVari is rock-solid, and the highly regulated output (it's as close to pure DC as I've seen off anything but a bare battery!) makes any topper capable of delivering its best.

However, what I WOULD like to see is for ProVari to resurrect that beautiful v2 body styling with the straight flutes down the side. The new v2.5 styling leaves me completely cold, and I won't be getting my second ProVari just because of that. :(

This is a forum, on the internet. Any and every type of person can come in, and pretty much say what what they want. (within the guidelines of the forum)
Some will take things personally, some are very opinionated, some are very literal in thinking, some just find it entertaining, some are trolls, and some of us don't really care.
These things happen in an open forum. Heck, some just purchase the device, because they want a Vaporizer. Sometimes, there is no rhyme or reasoning.
If ProVape lost some sales, (for whatever reason) that really would not put a dent in their pockets. Every device has it's pros and cons based on an individuals taste. It's pretty basic, either a person wants one, or they do not.

Well since im the one who said adding vw would take away some magical powers... Id like to say lighten up.
For one, me and the OP are fine, we have no issues with each other, and if he felt i attacked him im sure he would have said so. I am merely expressing my opinions and reassurrance of how awesome the provari is, even with out the vw feature. I have even gone on to say that i have yet to come across a unsatisfied provari owner. Since you dont yet own a provari, you may not be aware but many people start threads asking innocent questions about the provari, and then turn around and bash the provari owners who are answering their questions... Hence my response of me questioning the OP'S TRUE MOTIVES, whom has since confirmed his genuine concerns of the product. WE who are provari owners are basically saying dude, once you get one you will see, its not needed in this device.

Also owning a provari is a big responsibility. And it is not for every one. So i agree that you should not own one. Especially since it has alot to do with social status in the vaping community, of which i feel the OP IS IN FACT READY FOR. Ofcoarse this is my personal opinion, IMO, ONE SHOULD ONLY PURCHASE A PROVARI IF OR WHEN THEY ARE READY.

Except no one attacked him personally (or at least I didn't) what was being "attacked" was the idea that VW vaping is "better" than VV vaping. At this stage in VW devices, the vast majority of them are not accurate enough or durable enough to justify replacing a ProVari.
Once he made it clear that he was talking about the handful of devices that use .1 watt adjustment, and not VW chipsets or devices in general, the argument ended.

ProVape might (and probably will) come out with a VW ProVari someday. They won't compromise on the single button operation, though.

What you need to understand is that even though the ProVari is ancient, compared to most vaping mods, it has been and remains the gold standard that all other VV/VW mods compare themselves to. Every time a new mod comes out, the same discussions get hashed out.

This mod has "this" feature! The ProVari is now obsolete! We had those discussions when the Vamo came out, we had them again when the eVic came out. We will have them again when the latest and greatest mod from China comes out. The reason people buy a ProVari is for reliability and durability. (There might be a few who do it to join the "club," but they are the exception, rather than the rule.

You should be impressed by the fact that people are willing to defend the ProVari against someone with a degree in Electrical Engineering and a very valid argument.

I love my ProVari. I hate iPhones and Apple products in general and their fan base specifically, because they are blind to the advantages an open system would give them.

We are vapers. We are members of ECF. We know all about the latest and greatest mods and atomizers, and we happen to own ProVari's and other mods. None of us started out vaping using the ProVari, we used ego's, mechs, Darwin's, Vamo's, eVic's, LavaTubes, and other mods. The ProVari is our mod of choice. Some people will never "get it" until they try one.

Hey Ocelot, if you are reading this, I don't want a zombie. Only the Zombie's end cap. I like the look of the Stealth better.

I read through bits and pieces of this thread with some interest, and although I am a relative newcomer to the forum, I've seen the VV/VW discussion a few times, and wanted to give a "new" person's perspective on it.

But first, I just want to state that I own five "variable" devices with another on the way, hoping soon to add a DNA20 to the mix. And yes, I am also even newer to the Provari experience.

Whenever I put a new (insert today's chosen vapor delivery system) on a variable device, I always start at the minimum setting and then bump up until I'm happy. I don't care if it's 3.9 volts or 8.5 watts. All that matters to me is the quality of the vape. So I really don't see how variable voltage or wattage can be seen as "better" than the other as long as that device holds your chosen setting. For me, either way is just another method that does basically the same thing for me.

Yah... the new full size has nothing on the old full size 2.0. That's why I had to find an old black 2.0 full size (with a blue light) :).

I'd say that the main advantage of VW (in 0.1 watt increments) over VV (in 0.1 volt increments) for somebody who "vapes to taste" is the fact that variable wattage actually allows you much finer control over your voltage output than a VV-only device. A greater "resolution", if you will, which can allow you to taste your juices at specific precise voltages that you wouldn't be able to achieve on a VV-only device.

1.5 ohm @ 8.1 watts = ~3.49 volts

1.5 ohm @ 8.2 watts = ~3.51 volts

1.5 ohm @ 8.3 watts = ~3.53 volts

1.5 ohm @ 8.4 watts = ~3.55 volts

1.5 ohm @ 8.5 watts = ~3.57 volts

1.5 ohm @ 8.6 watts = ~3.59 volts

I agree. Too bad the Semovar is the only mod made that does that and is built like a ProVari. I need to look into getting one of those.

Edit: 99% of vapers won't notice a difference. I probably won't either, but I'm willing to be a Guinea pig. :D

Edit #2: Holy crap! Just watched a video on the Semovar. I didn't realize it could be turned into a mechanical mod. :w00t:

I bought a Provari V1 a month before V2 was announced. I was a bit disappointed at first. Then my wife wanted a Provari, so I got her a V2 and found there was very little difference. The following year after dropping my black chrome so much it looked grey and beaten and dull ( but still worked like a champ ) I decided to get myself a V2 ( blue led this time of course ) and I did.

Now its been almost a year again and I think Im going to get another Provari sometime in 2014. If the V3 comes out, Ill get that ( especially if its got VW and a new interface ) if not Ill buy a cheaper mod that will probably end up sitting in my drawer while I vape away on my Provari.

So to the original poster...buy what you want. If it gives you a vape that satisfies, thats all that matters. Provari has ruined me, I havent changed my gear in over a year and have no idea about anything new now. Im satisfied and happy with what I have so why search for something new?

I just want to be clear that I didn't start this thread to complain about the Provari not having VW capabilities. I started this thread because I actually WANT a Provari and was simply curious as to whether or not anyone knew of an impending new version release with VW capabilities, which seems like an obvious progression to me. I never imagined I would have to defend VW as a viable feature.

As a new owner, I am pleased with my purchase (even without vw) for three reasons; one, it performs very well, two, they had an inexpensive upgrade when they went from 1 - 2 (2.5 was just a different design in the metal etching) so I assume they'd do the same from 2 - 3, and three, they seem to hold their value (so if I sell it used, I'm probably not going to be losing much). Add to that how solid it is (heck, I ran mine over with my truck and it was undamaged...we won't discuss the tank) with the stories of how they stand behind even the used ones and it's still up with the top mods for me, and actually, one of the lesser expensive ones in it's class.
