I forgot to mention the PEX Manifold systemYou Da Man Chief!!! Thank you so much for them vids and this info...you got me to thinking I can do this, considering maybe replacing the old lines with Pex. I could do it piecemeal and put shut offs where I might not be able to get at the walls feeding the baths, so if those old lines fail I could isolate the problem. I'd put shut offs all over the placewould be nice to just loose water in one area and still have it in the rest of the house till that problem gets solved. Much appreciated post
At the very least, I'm going to look into having a few shark bite fittings on hand and some lengths of Pex in the various diameters in case of another emergency.

It makes it so each room or each device can have it's own water line and shut off.
I went with copper and I think I went with a 8 or maybe 10 branches, 5 cold and 5 hot. Makes it so you can shut off just one room or thing, instead of the whole house.
Really nice for lines that go outside like a garden hose.
Mine are no where this big but this gives you an idea what I'm talking about.
